From Melissa! :)

Good morning! I wanted to showcase a little of the talent my downline and dear friend, Melissa, shared with me. This is a thank-you card she gave me. Isn't it pretty? She clear-embossed the medallion on the front. I love the color combination; Melissa is EXTREMELY talented, and everyone who sees her cards on my Inspiration Station OOOOH and AAAAAH. Thanks, Melissa, for sharing SO much with me!! I'm so glad God brought you into my life!
I have to share: I am SO excited about next week's 10/10/10 class! I'm doing a punch theme; every card uses a punch in some way. I love them all. ;D A hint for those of you planning to come: there are two cards that have made a debut on this blog that you might be making similar. :D
Anyway. I have to go to the dentist today. :/ Just a cleaning, but it's been a while since I went for anything but trouble - so he's going to be giving me a list of what's wrong. :D At least I like him as a person. LOL!
I'm planning SO MANY classes the next few months! I'm starting to feel pressured - I've GOT to get to designing! LOL!!!! Plus I've joined a swap that's due in three weeks - but it's not too bad. Just have to come up with something I like!
Speaking of swaps: would YOU be interested in participating in a reader's swap?? If you would, please let me know! I'd LOVE to coordinate one; you are all SO talented! I love getting things from y'all. :D
SO. That's it for today! Let me know about the swap, and take time to STAMP something today!

Another Challenge Card!

This one is from Becky P. I LOVE this stamp set, and am SO glad it hasn't retired yet - but that also surprises me. :D It's been around a LONG time. So, I'll enjoy it while it's with us. :)
ANYWAY. This one, I think I sent at least two colors of the card stock. Becky took it from there! :) I love the simplicity of the image, all the texture on it, and the embellishments that don't overpower but truly enhance the card.
Thank you, Becky! :)
So, what are YOU stamping?? I was supposed to be having an advanced techniques class tonight, but I must have picked an awful night - no one's coming! So I get a night off. :D That's a happy thing for me! I'm still stampin', tho, getting ready for all the classes I've got coming up. Trust me, that's a LOT. :D I can't WAIT to start everyone stamping for Christmas - cards, gifts, decorations!!! I've been listening to almost-exclusively Christmas music for about two weeks now. :D My husband's enjoying it, too. LOL!
That's it for today! I'd love to hear from you about ANYTHING. :D Have a wonderful day - and TAKE TIME TO STAMP SOMETHING!!!!

One from The Challenge Envelopes!

Remember those challenge envelopes from a few weeks ago? Well, the cards are starting to come back in, and they're GREAT! Here's the first I'll share. This one's from Amy. This card will fit in a business-sized envelope. The part I gave her was the "friend"; she added the cardstock base, and the Summer Sun and Elegant Eggplant layers, the diamond brads, and the linen thread. Isn't it cute? She did a great job, and It's being displayed in the Inspiration Station. Click on the picture of it to see a bigger shot.

Thanks, Amy! And keep watching; I've got cards from her, and from Becky P. already to share - and I happen to know that some from Rachel are on the way, too. :)

Have a wonderful day - and take time to STAMP something!

Six-by-Six Class Was Great!

Good Saturday Morning! :) I wanted to share one of the samples from last Tuesday's Six-by-Six class. We did four different layouts, and this is one of them. We did two that were mostly background paper, and two that were mostly stamping - and this one was more stamping. :) We rolled the Rose Red card stock with the Basics Outline Jumbo Stampin' Around Wheel inked with Versamark, then embossed with clear EP. The small squares are punched from Very Vanilla and Always Artichoke, and the large mat is also done with these colors. The envelope is made from Certainly Celery Designer Series Paper, and we used the Mini Envelope Template to make, obviously, the envelope. :D We used the Tag Corner Punch on the insert in the envelope, and used Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon for it. As a final touch, we stamped the outline of the flower in Rose Red and the outline of the leaves in Always Artichoke, then cut out and placed at the corner with Dimensionals.
Honestly? I think it took longer to TYPE that all out than to actually DO it. :D It was easy, and I think it's really pretty.
OK, I've got to go grocery shopping now. :) Have a wonderful day - and don't forget to make the time to STAMP something!!!!

Ever had one of those days...?

Where NOTHING you touched turned out right? I'm DEFINITELY having one of those days. What I want to do, honestly, is go lie in bed the rest of the day, reading and maybe watching TV. :) We'll see what happens.... LOL!
This is Amy at my house yesterday. We had about 2.5 hours to stamp, and we had a great time. We'd love to get together with a few more people, too! There's plenty of room in my stamping area. :D When it's CLEAN, that is.... LOL!
Well, I'm off to destroy something else. :D I hope you have a WONDERFUL day - and don't forget to take the time to STAMP something!!!!

I did two more!

Amy came over to stamp today, so I decided to do ONE more two-page layout to send off today. I like this one, too! :D I used the HEADLINE ALPHA set again, but thumped around the edges with a Ruby Red Stampin' Write Marker to get the detail and edging, then cut the letters out with my paper snips. The border and cutout leaves are from the Stampin' Around wheel, LEAVES AWASH. I then used my Aquapainters and ink pads to color in the leaves. I tore the edges, sponged with Chocolate Chip, and tore So Saffron and sponged it. I also tore the Ruby Red matting on one edge, and sponged it, too. I just felt that the page needed the button! LOL! I LOVE our clear buttons, ESPECIALLY the square ones. I'm not sure why, but I sure do enjoy the texture and dimension they give.
So, what do you think of my LO? Have you decided to do any pages? Be sure to email me at poohisstampin@aol.com for the address for the coordinator of the project!
And, no matter what you're stamping, be SURE to take time to stamp SOMETHING!!!!!! :)

Wednesday, August 22, 2007

Here are my two pages!

I might be able to do more than two, but I really didn't want to procrastinate and not get ANYTHING out - if any of you know the REAL me, you know that's a danger I live with! :D SO, I sat down yesterday and did this to send off tomorrow. The only two stamp sets it uses are FROSTY and HEADLINE ALPHABET. I mixed some Dazzling Diamonds glitter with white EP to do the snowflake on Night of Navy 12x12 card stock. The words are in Night of Navy on Glossy White card stock. Frosty is stamped in Black Stazon on Glossy White, and colored in with Stampin' Write Markers - Basic Black, Bashful Blue, and Night of Navy. The journaling block is Whisper White card stock, and I notched the corners with the ticket corner punch and layered it on Bashful Blue. EASY!
I really, really like this layout. I hope she does, too. Have you decided to do this with me? I've gotten a few requests for the coordinator of this project's address - THANK YOU!!!!!! Email me at poohisstampin@aol.com for the address, and if you have a chance, share with me what you're stamping. :D I hope you take the time today to STAMP SOMETHING!!!!

Please BE A BLESSING!

Hi, everyone! I wanted to share this email with you. If you're willing to help, please email me at poohisstampin@aol.com for the address to send your pages to. THANK YOU for being willing to bless this sick mother!
One of the young members has been struggling with cancer forOver a year. My cyber friend (Tammey) has heard her remark how she is struggling to get albums done for her very young children so she can leave them something of herself, something to remember her and their childhood by. I am sure we can't imagine her anguish and sense of accomplishment as she finishes a layout. We have to thank God every moment for all of our blessings. We are going to make up a bunch of layouts for this gal to help her get her albums done as she hasn't been scrapping very long, and has only recently started swapping in the local group. Now for my HUGE favor……….

I would like to know if you would be willing to scrap a page or two or more and send to my friend to give to this family. It is just a RAK; nothing in it for yourself except for the gratitude of a family of three small children that is going to lose their mother way before they should.

As mentioned she has three small children, so anything to do with kids, holidays, zoos, fairs, etc would be greatly appreciated. Anything you might find yourself scrapbooking about your own children or grandchildren. She has one boy about 9, and two girls ages 4 & 6. Her son is in softball, they all love the zoo and swimming. I'm not sure about much else. I know she is struggling to get her Halloween and Christmas layouts done too.

We are making her 12x12 layouts. There are only a small handful of us making layouts and we need to get them to her Sept 16th to give her any time to use them up before she goes in for the big surgery. Neither she nor her doctors are very optimistic for the outcome. We need to start these right away. Because we are not sure how much time we have to work with

Next Thurs Tammey will be going to meet with her and her kids in the park and get some fun new photos for them :) Anything would be welcome. Thank you! Her children thank you too. PLEASE, put this family on your prayer list too.

So, what's the difference??

So, would someone explain to me what makes the card I posted LAST time any more duplicatable than the blue one the time before??? I'm just stumped. I've had comments on the "friendship" card saying they're going to definitely CASE it - but to me, it's not nearly as changeable as the blue one. I mean, look at this pumpkin one - it's the SAME EXACT THING as the blue, except in two colors. Any embellishment could be used in the bottom corner - like the button on the "friendship" card. I'm intrigued by what YOU want to see in a card! Heck, I even stamped this one on glossy white CS....:D

So, fill me in, dear reader. What makes a card something YOU want to CASE? What do you want to see MORE of? LESS of? I can't wait to hear from YOU!!!

Don't forget: while you're thinking about your answer, take the time to STAMP something!!! :)

Saturday, August 18, 2007

You want easy?!?!??

It's NOT going to get any easier than THIS, people! :D The card base is Mellow Moss. Stamp the word from WONDERFUL WORDS in Mellow Moss. Use the 1-1/4" square punch to punch Rose Red Designer Series Paper. Use the 1-3/8" square punch to punch out Whisper White squares. Adhere and place on card into diamond shape. Put natural hemp through a button, and adhere to the center of the diamond with 1/2 of a pop-up glue dot. THAT IS IT!!
I hope you're having a wonderful weekend, dear readers. Enjoy some time with your loved ones, and some time in a bubble bath. :D AND, don't forget! Take time to STAMP something!!!!

Will this heat EVER stop????

IT IS SO FRIGGIN' HOT OUTSIDE!!!!!!!! Will the garden ever be the same? Will I ever be able to step foot outside without wilting, myself??? It's been over 100 degrees outside every day for three weeks. It hasn't rained in months. Please pray that we'll start getting a nice, slow, soaking rain - heavy rains wouldn't soak in at all at this point, just cause flash flooding.
ANYWAY. This card is from Tuesday's 10/10/10. It uses HEARTFELT THANKS stamp set, Brocade Blue and Bashful Blue inks and card stocks, Very Vanilla card stock as well, and the new Brocade Blue 5/8" grosgrain ribbon. It's simple, yet elegant. I like this one! :)
So, have you been stamping? What have you come up with lately? SHARE!! :) You can email your scan or pic to me at poohisstampin@aol.com, and I'll post you right here on my blog! :D Of course, you can email me there and get my SNAIL MAIL address, too....
Regardless of who you're blessing with your wonderful creations, TAKE SOME TIME TO STAMP SOMETHING!!! :)

Does anyone know...

what on earth happened to http://www.bydonovan.com/templates.html??? It's not there anymore! She had a HUGE collection of card templates. I'm VERY sad to see her go - but I have no CLUE where she went!!!! Does ANYONE??

No stampin' sample today. :) Be blessed by this photo instead! You can click on it to enlarge it. A few of you have already seen it; we sent it out as part of our "Verse of the Day" a couple of weeks ago. If you'd like to receive this, please email me at poohisstampin@aol.com - you can always take yourself off the list, if you get tired of us. :D

Anyway. I'm getting busy! I've got LOTS of classes planned for the rest of the year, except for December; I'll do private classes and workshops if people want them in December, but it always gets SO busy, I'm not scheduling anything class-wise. BUT that doesn't mean that there won't be any Christmas going on around here. OH, NO. :D Keep your eyes out - and listen to some Christmas music. It makes the heat more bearable. ROFL!!!

OK, I'm off to get busy. Hey, why don't you take time to STAMP something today? And then show ME!!

Becky P. has BLESSED ME!!!

Is this not just too stinkin' CUTE?!?!??!?! My dear friend Becky from the other side of Tennessee made this for me, and sent it to me in the mail. I absolutely LOVE it, and she's SO blessed me with lots of things - but her friendship is the biggest blessing of all. :) Between her and Amy, I'm so stinkin' BLESSED it's amazing! :D
So, Amy and Becky and I are going to get to stamp together next week, so she's going to walk me through making these by myself. :D I can't wait to do these as a class! So, in the meantime, take time to STAMP something!!! :D

Tuesday, August 14, 2007

It's been a LONG day, but I want to share! :)

We had a great time at both sessions of today's 10/10/10! This card IS NOT from this class, however; those samples will start showing up tomorrow. :)
This IS a sample from the chipboard class, however! This one we covered with designer series paper, then sanded the edges. This card was a BIG hit - SO simple, yet a lot of WOW. :D Of course, it doesn't hurt that Stampin' Up! has some glorious ribbon.... :D The colors are Lovely Lilac and Almost Amethyst, but they look a little blue in this post. Sorry!
So, what did you stamp today? You DID take time to stamp something, right?????? :) Well, be SURE to do so for Wednesday - and bless someone, too! :) I'll be blabbing - well, I guess the appropriate word is blogging, isn't it?!? - at you again soon! :)

Challenge from Dawn!

This was on Dawn's blog today - you can find the link to her blog to the right, at the top! - and I thought it was kind of fun. So, I'm going to put a picture of another variety of the card I posted earlier today, and do this challenge of hers. :D

For each question your answer has to start with the same letter that your first name starts with. For boy/girl names the name can't be the same as your own. I challenge you to try this out with YOUR name.

Your Name: Lori
Famous Artist/Band/Musician: Lionel Richie
4 letter word: LOVE!
Vehicle: Longboat ;)
TV SHOW: LOST (Never watched the thing, but...)
City/Town: Louisville - great city!
Boy Name: Leo
Girl Name: Lessa
Occupation: lentil cook
Something you wear: Leotard (NOT me, however...!)
Celebrity: Lee Iacocca - does he still count?
Food: lemon meringue pie!!!
Something found in a kitchen: lettuce
Reason for Being Late: late night
Cartoon Character: Lou Whooooooo!!
Something You Shout: LOSER!

Kinda fun. Of course, I can't think of anything FUNNY.... :D

So, YOU try it! If you've got a blog and do this, be sure to let me know!!! :)

Oh, yeah. Be sure to take some time to STAMP something!! No posts tomorrow, unless I get ambitious - CLASS TIME!!!

Chipboard Letter Card

How SIMPLE and classic this card is! I really like this one, can you tell? :D
It's from the "What on Earth is CHIPBOARD?" class last Tuesday. This one's super-simple, but there is some drying time involved.
Simply take some Crystal Effects (which WILL be one of my future "What on Earth is..." classes!), and color it with a drop of your choice of color re-inker. Blend well, then paint onto letter(s). Allow at LEAST 30 minutes to dry - more if it's humid! - before even TRYING to touch them. The colors I chose for both the card stock and the re-inkers is Glorious Green and Real Red. Then I attached the letters to the Whisper White card stock with mini glue dots. EASY as can be, and a clean, classic look.
Don't be afraid to try things! Get out that chipboard that's been sitting around forever and play! :D Take the time to STAMP something today!!! Have a wonderful week....

Saturday, August 11, 2007

Don't get spoiled by my posting every day! LOL!

I'm actually procrastinating, so YOU get another sample. LOL!!!! I really need to do some design work today, and I'm just not feeling it.

ANYWAY. Last night was our craft night at church; I got a lot done, but not as much as I wanted to! It's so nice to get together with a group of my friends and do what I love to do!

Now, then. This card is another sample from my chipboard class on Tuesday. It's so sparkly, I love it!We took the chipboard piece, and covered it in Cameo Coral CRAFT ink, then Holographic Highlights embossing powder. We heated and melted it, then punched the holes using my Crop-A-Dile. (May I say, I LOVE this tool?? Cuts like "buttah". :D) Threaded the new vanilla taffeta ribbon through those little holes, put in brads, and finished the rest of the card. It's a great look - I did Amy's birthday card like this, and used an A for the letter. :)

Well, I guess there's no getting around it. It's time to get to work. I need to go STAMP something - I hope you take some time today to do so, too! :)

Boxes, Boxes!

Good morning, everyone! Did you have a good day yesterday? Did you stamp something? Did you have FUN doing it?? What did you make? Why don't you share it with someone? :)
Hey, that gives me an idea for a challenge! I challenge YOU to RAK someone in the next week. Why not? I've been tagged to do it lately, so why shouldn't I ask YOU to do so?? :) When you RAK someone, let me know you did it. RAK stands for "Random Act of Kindness", and there's no better reason for stamping, in my humble opinion. Just think: you could be the ONLY reason someone has to smile tomorrow, when they receive your card in the mail. WOW! Be sure and let me know you took me up on the challenge!
Now, back to the picture. :) These are boxes we did at my "What on Earth is Chipboard?" class Tuesday night. This coming Tuesday night is this month's 10/10/10. But the boxes are FUN! I can't tell you the pattern; it's a LITTLE complicated for that. :) But the color of card stock is the new Basic Gray - I LOVE THIS COLOR!! the ribbon is Purely Pomegranate double-stitched ribbon. We used the new Baroque Border Stampin' Around wheel on the whole thing. It's a relatively big box, and pretty sturdy! We painted the chipboard with regular craft paint. Simple, and stunning!
That's it for today. I have a lot to do, again. Not much motivation to do it, either. :D But I do know: I want to take time to STAMP something. Don't you????? :D

Thursday, August 9, 2007

Last one! :D

This one was a BIG hit, let me tell you! :D It's a snack-sized M&M holder, as you can see in the photo below. Take a 4"x11" piece of card stock, and score it at 1/4", 1-1/2", 3-1/2", 4-3/4", 7-3/4", and 9". Using our wonderful WORD WINDOW PUNCH, place a slot for the candy to fit into. We punched it so it overlapped in the center, making the punched-out place about 3" wide.

Put adhesive in the 1/4" flap, and fold it all together. It becomes a box that's 1-1/4" wide.
The M&Ms should sit comfortably inside the box. We took a punched-out piece and fastened it on the front with a brad, so you can tuck the top flap behind it - but whatever type of closure works for you, do it! :) I saw some of the gum holders on other websites, and thought that this would be MUCH better for our mommies and kids. I mean, M&Ms?!? Who DOESN'T love them?!?! :D
Don't forget to stamp/wheel/decorate the outside of your box BEFORE you fold and assemble. :D We wheeled it with the SPOT ON jumbo Stampin' Around wheel and Versamark in the cartridge.
Let me know if you do this - and if you need any help, just yell! Don't forget: you can always reach me by emailing me at poohisstampin@aol.com!
Have a WONDERFUL day! And don't forget: take some time today to STAMP something!! :)

So much to share, so little time! D

Yesterday was our "What on EARTH is chipboard?" class; we had SUCH a great time! It's amazing how easy the stuff is to class up. :D Those samples may or may not make it up on the blog, depending on how the week goes. They SHOULD, eventually, be on my demonstrator site - I'll let you know when I change it again. I just updated it the end of last week, if you haven't checked it out!

This visor is one of the projects from the Mommy & Me Stamp Camp last weekend; we had a lot of fun decorating! (Ken DID model this for me, but none of the pictures turned out well - I was laughing too hard. :D) It's a simple visor, purchased at one of the big chain craft stores, and then decorated with fun foam letters, glitter glue, and rhinestones. Oh, and the flowers are debossed with a heat tool and stamps, then brushed over with Ruby Red craft ink. Isn't it cute??

This is Abby - whom you've seen on this blog before! :) - with her hat at the MIDDLE stage. She was SO fun - by the time she left, there was no room for a DOT of glitter glue, a rhinestone, OR a fun foam sticker. :D

Well, gotta get busy! We're going for a show photo shoot tonight, and lots to do before then. :D

Don't forget: TAKE SOME TIME TO STAMP SOMETHING TODAY!!! :) Be Blessed!!!!

Monday, August 6, 2007

Here's a project from the Mommy & Me Stamp Camp!

This was a fun project! We took white craft paint, and put Brilliant Blue re-inker into some. The chipboard frame's basically sponged white, then sponged with the blue to make it kind of puffy-looking. :) We used punches to make flowers and bugs to put on the frame. We used a Stampin' Write marker to write the date on the bottom of the frame, and glitter glue pens to write the top part. SIMPLE, and easy!

The composite pictures in the last post? Well, we took each "couple"'s picture, and I'm either giving them to them or mailing them to them, to put in this frame. I hope it will become a cherished memory!

Now, on to even MORE important things:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMY!!!!

I'm SO glad you're my friend!!! May you be HIGHLY CELEBRATED today!!!!!!!!!! :D
That's it for today, everyone. :) Hey, do me a favor: take time to STAMP something today!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mommy & Me Stamp Camp Was a HIT!

We had SUCH a good time! Aren't they all BEAUTIFUL people???? We did three projects today, that you'll get to see down the road. :) One was a visor that they got to decorate, one was a box to hold a snack pack of M&Ms, and one was a picture frame. Each set of moms & kids will get two pictures, one for each of their frames. This is a composite of all of them; we had a wonderful time, no one got TOO bored, and there were some GREAT creations!

I've realized I need to get more ideas for stamping with boys! Granted, most of the time they're not too interested - but when they are, I want to encourage that!!! :) If you have any ideas for boys, please email me at poohisstampin@aol.com, and let me know what they are. If you've got things you've done with your son in the past that have been fun, please let me know!!!

That's it for today - short and sweet again. :D I have TOO much to do - more canning, some baking, and then spending time with some girlfriends tonight. Ahhhhhh, the sweet life. :D

TAKE SOME TIME TO STAMP SOMETHING TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Thursday, August 2, 2007

You'll have to wait for it! :D

I've been canning again today already! This is zucchini marmalade - and before you say GROSS, let me tell you it's delicious! So, anyway, I've got a LOT to do today because tomorrow is my second eye surgery, so I'll not be doing much. Saturday is my Mommy & Me Stamp Camp, so you'll get to see those pictures next week. :)
Don't forget that this weekend is TAX-FREE WEEKEND in Tennessee - that includes some of Stampin' Up!'s products!!! You can email me for the list!
Check out my demo site for new samples in the gallery!
That's it again - short and sweet. :) If you need me for anything, just email me at poohisstampin@aol.com! And remember: TAKE TIME TO STAMP SOMETHING!!!!!!

FINAL Stamp Camp Project! :)

It's a fry box with a gift card lid! Isn't it cute?? :) I printed out the box on Whisper White card stock, and we rolled it in Real Red with All About Christmas, a new Jumbo Wheel. The designer label punch worked beautifully with this stamp from the level 1 hostess set, Party Punch, done in Glorious Green on Whisper White. Then, we just punched the corners of Glorious Green and Real Red card stock with a ticket corner punch, and that was DONE. SOOOO easy!!!
Be sure and check out my Stampin' Up! website for the new special for this month - it's a GREAT special!!!!!! I LOVE our punches!! :)
That's it for today - I've been online ALL day, working on getting my monthly newsletter out. :) Parts of me are sore that shouldn't be! LOL!!!!!! Short & sweet for once. :D
Take time to STAMP something today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
