Workshop Card in BRIGHTS!

I have to tell you, thinking about colors in whole new combinations is really working for me! Before, More Mustard and Old Olive were the two colors I liked least of all - but now, with them totally separated and in two different groups, I find I like them a lot more. :D

Anyway. Here's another card we did for the Hostess Club parties this month!

Isn't it CHEERY? :)

Card stock: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight N

Ink: Pumpkin Pie

And that, my friends, is that! :D And I'd LOVE to get some parties booked in August. SO, for the first FIVE people who book AND hold the party on their originally-booked date, I will give a stamp set from my stash for FREE. Let's have some fun together!!!

OK, I'm off to finish cleaning off my desk! (I know, those of you who've been here recently, that you're passing out from shock....:D) Have a WONDERFUL day, and be SURE to take the time to STAMP something!

LISA: Can you send me a wish list?? I don't want to send you something you're gonna NOT want.... :D

This is an old technique, but a good one. :) I can't wait to try it with other stamps! It's called OUT OF THE BOX.

Card stock: Cherry Cobbler N, Soft Suede kinda N, Sahara Sand

Ink: Soft Suede

Stamp sets: Autumn Days, Grateful Greetings (inside) N

I just love this card! (Can you tell I was REALLY in a fall mood??? I'm tired of this heat! LOL!) I love only using ONE ink color on a card; it just ties together so beautifully!

And here's the inside....

OK, I'm off again. Tonight is a talent show at church, and I can't wait to see my man dance with the Tuesday morning men's group! :D Have a WONDERFUL day, and be SURE to take the time to STAMP something!!! OH, and MONDAY is our CHRISTMAS IN JULY STAMP CAMP. It's gonna be AWESOME!

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaack! :D

And I'll post twice today, to make up for yesterday. Yesterday was one of those days, where I couldn't seem to find 20 minutes to thread together! But the A/C is fixed - and thank you to Monday Night's Hostess Club for suffering through the heat with me. :D By the way, I'll be collecting names for people who want to start/continue a hostess club next year! Please call or email me, and let me know if you're interested!

Here's one of the cards we made:

Advanced Techniques!

Good afternoon! This is going to be a quick post; Heavenly Perspective Photography is going to be offering photos and DVDs at a performance of Street Theatre's ALICE IN WONDERLAND this evening, and I have to be ready to go SOON! :D

So. Here is the first of four projects from last night's class. We had a great time! This is dry embossing using the negative space from a chipboard piece cut with a die and ♥the Big Shot♥. :D

Card stock: Crumb Cake (used to be KRAFT!), Very Vanilla, Cajun Craze N

Stamp set: Occasional Quotes N, Fabulous Phrases, Autumn Splendor kinda N (inside)

Ink: Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake N (inside)

Accessories: Big Shot, leaves die, chipboard, stylus, scallop oval punch, medium oval punch, sponge

LateNightStampers Challenge Card!

Hi, y'all! How are you coping with summer? UGH. :D I am SOOOOOOOOO grateful for A/C!!

Anyway. Today's share is another card I made for no class purpose; it's for a weekly challenge, and I haven't played along in a LONG time. :D SO, I can tell you all about it!

Card stock: Riding Hood Red kinda N, Basic Black, Very Vanilla

Ink: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake N

Stamp set: Oval All

Accessories: Big Shot ♥♥♥!, scallop oval punch, medium oval punch, clear embossing powder, vintage eyelets, Newsprint DSP N, Crop-a-dile, sponges, Top Note die

OK. I cut the Top Note just shy of full length, so that the entire side of the die cut was straight. The Newsprint DSP is cut JUST to fit inside the die cut. I used a sponge and Crumb Cake ink to age the DSP, Very Vanilla, and Riding Hood Red card stocks just a bit. I layered the Very Vanilla punched "just for you" on top of the embossed black scallop-circle-punched piece, and put that on with dimensionals.

It's really quite an easy card! :) I enjoy doing challenges when I have the time. :D Tonight is an Advanced Techniques class, so you'll get to see some of those next! :D

I really do hope you're studying your books, looking at the color combinations, and enjoying the possibilities! What FRESH looks these are!

Now, go. Take the time to STAMP something! :D I'll see you tomorrow!

My new flower - LOVE it!!!

I sooooooo love this project!!!!!! If I had anything else to show you, I'd have to think about keeping this one a secret for my Hostess Appreciation Luncheon! :D But I hope you like it, too!

First, I've been enjoying the new 2-3/4" scallop circle punch SO much - and I knew I wanted to make another flower to show you today. But what?!?

Then I pulled out some scrap card stock, and something I put together reminded me of these awesome mums my mom has in the fall. (Try saying that five times fast! :D) They're a burgundy and golden yellow. I am SOOOOOO ready for fall; you can have this heat and humidity, thank you. I'm ready for some crisp mornings, chilly evenings, and beautiful colors!!

ANYWAY. The scraps I got out did nothing but make me think of those mums. So, I started - and I think it turned out SOOOO wonderfully! :D

AND, because I designed it JUST for you, I can tell you all about how to make it! :D

1. Base: Cut Elegant Eggplant card stock to 3.5"x7.5". Score at 2.5:. 5", and 6.75".

2. On the first section, use the Embossing Buddy; "welcome" is from FUNDAMENTAL PHRASES. Use Versamark and gold embossing powder, and melt to set.

4. Using our white gel pen, write guest's name above the stamped word.

5. Fold on all score lines. Place adhesive on the small tab. (I used Sticky Strip, because I didn't want this popping apart in the middle of dinner!:D ) Adhere into tent shape, as seen above. (You can see that I left a tiny amount of the Sticky Strip showing, so you'd know where I adhered it. Aren't I thoughtful? ROFL!) Set tent aside.

6. Punch TWO (2) 2-3/8" scallop circles from More Mustard; repeat with Bravo Burgundy.

7. Punch ONE (1) regular scallop circle from More Mustard; punch TWO (2) from Bravo Burgundy.

8. On all seven scallop circles, punch hole in center for brad - you can use your paper piercer and mat pack, or the 1/16" hole punch.

9. Cut from the valley point of each scallop almost to the hole. Do this on each scallop circle.

10. Layer the scallop circles, using the three smaller first, then the four larger, alternating the colors - and starting and ending with Bravo Burgundy. Place the brad through the holes, and open to hold the punches all together.

11. One layer at a time, fold the petals toward the front of the brad. DO NOT do this with the bottom layer. You want this to look full, and as close to a mum as possible! Place two dimensionals on the bottom, close to the brad; set aside.

12. Using the oval scallop punch, punch two (2) from Always Artichoke. Fold in half lengthwise; using paper snips, cut out every other scallop in the shape of a pie wedge. Run through the CRIMPER, still folded. Unfold.

13. Place flower on place card as desired. Using mini glue dots, position the leaves as desired.

Voila! Easy, and BEAUTIFUL. I wish you could see it in real life!!!!!!!!! Let me know if you try it - these would be beautiful if you made a bunch to decorate a tablescape, or even put them back-to-back to make full flowers! If you make one, let me know. I hope you enjoy it!

OK, I'm off. :) I hope you're having a WONDERFUL day - and be SURE to take the time to STAMP something!

FUN Halloween treat!

I can almost HEAR the groans - "It's still JULY! Halloween's two-and-a-half months away!" Yeah, but how many of you remember it SNEAKING up on you last year? :D You always wanted to do "something special" for your kids' classrooms, or to hand out at your door....

So I came up with this ADORABLE treat holder; it will hold one of those longish packs of mini M&Ms, or a packet of candy corn (that's what's in this one!). I LOVE IT - so cute!!!!!!! (The flash washed it out, but I think you'll get the idea!) Check out my video tutorial on this Top Note Treat Holder!

Card stock: Whisper White, Early Espresso N, Cajun Craze N

Ink: Cajun Craze N, Early Espresso N

Stamp sets: Forest Friends, Grateful Greetings

Accessories: Big Shot (yup, I♥MyBigShot), Top Note Die, 2-3/8" scallop circle punch N, 1-3/4" circle punch, dimensionals, hole punch, Whisper White 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, mini glue dot (just to hold the candy in place)

To me, this little owl is PERFECT because he's not SCARY. :) This would be appropriate for any age! :D

OK, I'm off. I hope you're enjoying the things you've seen - the new colors are SO awesome! Our first hostess club last night was a lot of fun - and a lot of new colors are first on most people's lists! :D I'll remind you again: although we all really drool over stamp sets, you can do more with COLORS and a few stamp sets than you can with LOTS OF STAMPS and just a few colors. Think about it! Just by changing the color, you can change the whole mood or look of any project. :)

If you've purchased MY DIGITAL STUDIO, there's a new color download available. Let me know if you need help! :)

Now, then. Go take the time and STAMP something, would ya?!?

You missed a lot of fun!

Yup, I know it's the weekend, but I haven't shared too much with y'all lately - so consider it my way of thanking you for sticking around! :D

Not only did I have lots of retired things for sale, we had a great time looking at the new Idea Book & Catalog, and I had three projects to stamp! I'm going to use a bold N for new stuff for a couple of days or so.... Even the old IN COLORS that are now back! :)

Here's the first:

Card stock: Concord Crush N, Certainly Celery, Pink Pirouette N

Ink: Pretty in Pink, Concord Crush N (inside)

Stamp sets: Fifth Avenue Floral, Occasional Quotes N (Level 3 hostess-only set, inside)

Accessories: Big Shot :D, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder N, dimensionals

There's a little too much blue in the light, but you get the gist of this card. :D

Next one!

Yup, it's got CINNAMON KETTLE CORN in it - a Sandra Lee recipe for the last Houseparty I did. :) It's YUMMY - and so's this new stamp! :)

Card stock: Chocolate Chip, Daffodil Delight N, Whisper White

Ink: Real Red (I know, it doesn't look like it, but it is! I think it's the dye lot!)

Stamp: Homemade N

Accessories: Big Shot :D, Fancy Favor box die, 1-3/4" circle punch, 2-3/8" scallop circle punch N, dimensionals, sticky strip

Isn't it CUTE?!?!? I love the new punch, and the new stamp. :)

And here's the third project!

I really, really like this card!

Card stock: Bashful Blue, Marina Mist N, Whisper White

Ink: Marina Mist N, Certainly Celery

Stamp set: Because I Care N (level 1 hostess-only set, and I ADORE it!!!)

Accessories: ticket corner punch (inside)

The "thank you" stamp that comes with the set is on the inside, along with the second-generation stamp of the hydrangea. It's a very calming, peaceful card!

OK. I'm outta here, to try and recooperate a bit - I have a cough that just won't go away, and my ribs are letting me know! Say a prayer if you think about me! :)

Have a WONDERFUL Fourth of July celebration; enjoy your time with your family and friends, and I HOPE you take the time to STAMP something fun for your table! :D

Pictures to come later!

I'm working my fingers off to make sure we all have a great time this afternoon! A little cooking, a little (OK, a LOT!) cleaning, a little cutting, a little rearranging.... :D

If you CAN be here today between 4 and 7, just drop in. I cannot WAIT to show you the new stuff!
