Scrapping with KIDS! :D

Hi, everyone! :D Are you pleasantly surprised to see me?!?! :D

I'm going to share pictures of my sample for my nieces and nephews at our family reunion. They each did their own thing, and were great fun to watch as they developed their own styles in their books. :) Today I'll show you the front and back. :)

I wanted them to feel free to use anything they wanted; I used buttons, ribbons, designer series paper, die cuts with the Big Shot - boy, did they LOVE that machine! :D - ink, card stock, and punches! :D

The 2012 Sale-a-Bration items played a large role in what we used, because my parents purchased special things for the project and I chose coordinating items from the SAB mini for FREE. Can't beat that with a stick.... :D

Did you have a good weekend?? I want to know who filled my weekends up with so much to do! Hmph. :D

Yesterday afternoon, we did a paper bag class. These little albums are SO much fun to do! We did ABSOLUTELY no stamping, and very little punching or Big Shot work - and you can easily get three albums out of a Simply Scrappin' Kit. If you added some more scraps, some ink, yaddayadda - you could do an untold number of these! :D

Here's the front....

This is the Christmas-themed SS kit. The colors are Cherry Cobbler, Marina Mist, Old Olive, and Very Vanilla. SS kits come with 12x12 textured card stock, which makes it a lot of fun to work with. The word "celebrate" was one word, but we cut it to fit the page. :D

I fibbed a bit; we did do ONE Big Shot thing, just because I love the new snowflake die that's in the Holiday Mini - but we ONLY used them on the front cover. :)

Here's one inside spread; I also pulled out the pocket tabs a bit, so you could see them:

Yes, the color's a bit off, and I have no clue why. Oh, well. :) The light hit it wierd!!!

OK, I'm off! Tonight is the Advanced Techniques class - and it's gonna be awesome. :D You'll be seeing the cards this week, but they're all Technique Junkies techniques, so no details. You're just gonna have to come to classes! :)

Good morning! (It's still before 12 Central, so I can still say that! :D)

Today's show-n-tell is the IT'S IN THE BAG samples I made. We had a FANTASTIC time at this class this year; last year, we did a couple of these in the IT'S A WRAP class, but this year, I wanted a whole class on bags. There are SO many you can make! :D

The small one is one of our small cello bags with reindeer food in it; it's topped with a Top Note cut from Merry Moments DSP, and "garnished" with Dasher. :D

The next one up is the Fancy Favors die, with a simple topper on it.

The next size is a super-simple bag, the perfect size for gifting some of your beautiful cards and envelopes!

The largest is a bag that's 8"x10"; it takes a bit of doing to get the understanding of it down, but it's really a simple bag!

Be watching for my January schedule - you'll know it as soon as I do. :D

NEW paper bag album!

Sherie and I had a great time yesterday morning! She followed my sample pretty closely, the one I posted last week. But *I* had to not do the same thing - too boring. :) So, I came up with this design! I used white paper bags for this one, and covered more of the bag with the card stock. It uses the same Simply Scrappin' kit from Sell-A-Bration, but I did use more than just a half of one this time. The inside of the brackets is what you see on the squares on the front; I also used another half of the Coral rickrack strip for an inside page.

I like the way this one turned out; it's not as "girly" as the first one, and is much simpler on the inside. Tell me what you think!

Paper Bag Album!

Well, ladies, I'm going to post about this album today. :) It's what I'm teaching at my class this Saturday (For more class listings, go to http://poohisstampin.stampinup.net/Events.aspx), and it uses the Simply Scrappin' kit from this year's Sell-A-Bration. I absolutely LOVE this kit; it's SO easy to use, and has great self-adhesive die cuts. Plus, the colors are so springy! :)

I alternated the paper bags, so every other page has a pocket - that blue tab you see sticking out is the tab on the first pocket. My little book has a total of 10 pages not including the front and back covers, and I used less than half of a SS kit on it! I think they make wonderful gifts - and with Mother's Day and Father's Day coming up, you could do one for both parents with one kit! :) The only things I used not in the SS kit were the brads, the ribbon - wide organdy and Prep School Ribbon Originals - and adhesive. Easy peezy! :D
