Thursday, and I don't feel like sharing! LOL!

But I will. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed right now, getting ready to leave again this weekend for the women's retreat, cleaning - HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - the studio and making a bigger mess than before, stamping for October's classes, dealing with a growth spurt in our ministry, and just trying to keep it real. :D SO. Here is today's share - after TMI already. :D

So, it's another of the colorblocked cards - and I really love the Autumn Splendor set! It works so nicely for fall - or for green leaves, too. :D

Let's see. Colors are Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery, Lucky Limeade, Old Olive, Whisper White, and Pear Pizzazz. The "hello" is from Pendant Park. Super simple, but wouldn't it be fun to get this in your mail???

OK, I'm off! Trying to find my head and at least keep it around tonight. :D Have a wonderful evening - and be sure to take the time to STAMP something!

My favorite quick card!

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Cajun Craze, More Mustard

Yes, the card stock is torn. :) It's FALL, isn't it??!! Well, it's GETTING there. Except that locally, the first of September's going to be back up to 100. :D

OK, I'm off! Have a WONDERFUL day, and be sure to take the time to STAMP something!!!!

Happy Wednesday!

Today has been my official "Lori in PJs" day, and it's been a good thing - except I got up at o-dark thirty for no apparent reason. LOL! But my studio, Mary, you wouldn't recognize it. Well, except that I've been playing with a project for the last class of the year.... :D

Today's share is from the Thanksgiving Stamp Camp; we did four awesome projects! So sorry you couldn't join us! :D

I really love it because it's ALL Stampin' Up! product!

Card stock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla

Ink: Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard, Always Artichoke

Stamp set: Autumn Splendor

Accessories: Sticky Strip, Early Espresso 5/8" satin ribbon

And that is ALL it took to make this. Amazing, huh. :D

OK, I'm off to do some more stuff - I've spent a lot of time cleaning out my email boxes. I have a LONG way to go.... :D Have a WONDERFUL day! And be SURE to take the time to STAMP something!!!!!

Well, it DID feel like fall....

Hi, my friends! It's back up in the 80s here in middle Tennessee again, but for a LITTLE while, it felt like it was fall. We even had frost advisories out! YEA! :D I love fall; the colors and the crispness and the snuggly clothes. Ahhhhhh, fall. :D

So, today's another design JUST for you. I'll do it just like yesterday!

Card stock:
More Mustard, cut to 5.5"x8.5"
Early Espresso, cut to 5-3/8"x4-1/8"
Crumb Cake, cut to 5-1/4"x4"
Naturals Ivory, cut to 5-3/8"x4-1/8" for the inside.

First, stamp leaves from AUTUMN SPLENDOR randomly on your Crumb Cake CS; I used More Mustard, Cajun Craze, and Cherry Cobbler.

Now, take your color spritzer tool (page 192 n your Idea Book & Catalog!), and use an Early Espresso marker to blow random dots onto the stamped CC. Take your embossing buddy and rub it all over the card stock - you might want to give those EE spritzed dots a few seconds to dry. NEXT - and I am SUPER excited to have discovered this works! - take your VERSAMARKER and spritz random dots of IT all around. WARNING: you won't be able to see i too well, so don't over-spritz. You can come back and put more dots in after the next step, if you want. Now, use gold embossing powder and your heat tool to heat emboss those Versamarker dots! It's VERY subtle, but you can definitely see it! (Remember: you just click on any photo on my blog to enlarge it!)

Set that aside; take a scrap of Early Espresso card stock, and use the "gratitude" from FABULOUS PHRASES and Versamark to stamp on the card stock; using your gold powder and heat tool to heat emboss the word. Don't forget to use your embossing buddy!

Now, use the modern label punch to punch out the word.

You can assemble your card now, or wait until you've stamped the inside. :) It's up to you - just use dimensionals to put the punched piece on the front when everything else s adhered!

Now, for the inside!

I took two of the leaves and stamped them in opposite corners, and took the one I'd stamped n More Mustard, off-stamped, and stamped it in the middle of the Naturals Ivory.

Now, use your embossing buddy, gold embossing powder, and heat tool to put your choice of verse in the middle - mine uses the OCCASIONAL QUOTES stamp set, but I know not many of you have had a party to earn it yet! :) It's a level three stamp set, and I LOVE IT!!

That is all there is to this card - but I really love it. Both the front AND the inside are beautiful art by themselves! :)

OK, I'm outta here. Time for some lunch with Kenn. :D Have a WONDERFUL day - try to enjoy the sunshine! - and be sure to take the time to STAMP something!

Happy Monday!

The countdown seriously begins. :D I hope you're enjoying your Labor Day! I made this card JUST for you, so if you have any questions, ASK. :)

Card stock: Very Vanilla, Cajun Craze

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Cajun Craze

Stamp set: Autumn Splendor, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Accessories: Neutrals DSP Pack, paper snips, dimensionals, sponge, Modern Label Punch, Big Shot, Leaves die

Below is a close-up of the background embossing; I took leaves I'd cut from thin chipboard and put them on one of the Big Shot's acrylic cutting plates, then put the DSP on top; I ran it through the Big Shot with the silicon pad and the Impressions Pad on top. It's not OBVIOUS when you look at the card, but it definitely adds a little something!

OK. I'm outta here! I'm still working hard to make sure you have lots of blog posts while I'm gone. :D Be sure and come by every day while I'm gone; I'd hate for you to have to catch up.... :D

Have a wonderful day! Be SURE to take the time to STAMP something!

What a GLORIOUS day!

Can you believe how beautiful it is? Even if the weather's a bit gloomy wherever you are, I bet it's beautiful! :D

This week's postings will be a little shorter than usual (I think); I'm getting them all ready at the beginning of the week, so I don't have to worry about getting them up while I'm out of town. I'm really planning on relaxing! (That is, if I can figure out what that means....:D)

So! On with the show! Today's sample is from October's scrapbooking class - and it's perfect for this time of year.

You thought I meant CHRISTMAS, didn't you. :D Not this time! I meant FALL. I'm sure we all have photos that don't really have much of a theme, but they're shots you love. Try this kind of approach - you can mat or not, crop or not - anything goes!

Card stock: Sahara Sand, Basic Black, Whisper White

Ink: Sahara Sand, Real Red, Real Red Craft

Stamp sets: Autumn Splendor, Autumn Days

Accessories: Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware, clear embossing powder, heat tool

See? Super-simple, and super cute. :D

OK, I'm off! I'm probably NOT stampin' something at this moment, but I MIGHT be thinking about it! :D So, YOU make sure to STAMP SOMETHING!! :D

What time is it?!?!?

Good grief, WHERE do my days go?!?!??! :D Someone needs to find out who steals HOURS away from me during the day....

I was going to show you the Top Note boxes from Friday night, but I did one differently and need to re-shoot the pictures, so HOPEFULLY that will be on this afternoon's agenda. :D (Seriously, anyone want to come help me clean and organize a bit???? The Inspiration Station needs a little help, and my SCANNER BED!!!!!!!!!! Oh, YUCK!!!! :D)

Anyway. Here are two of the projects we did this weekend. I did get inspiration from a few places, but for the most part, the finishing touches on these are mine. :D I'll show the 3D later this week - it is SO cute, but I don't have the time to write out all the how-to right now! :D

Please remember: if you see ANYTHING on here that you'd like to get the supplies for, or even that one little punch or something that just MAKES the project, you can either call or email me - my contact info's in the side bar - to help you with your order, or you can GO TO MY STAMPIN' UP! WEBSITE and click on the SHOP NOW button at the top right corner. You can shop 24/7 there - and so can anyone looking for presents for you. (HINT! LOL!!)

The hostess for this weekend is pregnant with a little girl, so I wanted something that they could adapt if they wanted to - and don't we all have a shower to attend at least once a year??? :D

Fold Whisper White card stock, cut 5-1/2"x8-1/2", in half (the HAMBURGER way!:D). Using your 1-3/4" circle punch, punch a half-circle out of the fold side. If you look at the back of your punch, it should be relatively easy to do this step!

Next, take your Big Shot (YUP! I LOVE MY BIG SHOT!!) and the scallop circle die. If you line the loose edges of the card on one side of the die, the half-circle should be inside the scallop cutting edge, as well as maybe 3/8" on each side of the cut. You're looking for a BIT of fold to be left when you cut the scallop, to keep the card front and back together. :D

Run through your Big Shot. Voila! A bib! :D

Next, we used the flowers in Boho Backgrounds stamp set to stamp all around in Pretty in Pink. The "hello baby" is done in Pixie Pink; that's from TEENY TINY WISHES - and the inside is also in Pixie Pink. It says, "Celebrate you", and that's from BITTY BIRTHDAY.

Stamp the "hello baby" on scrap Whisper White, and center and punch out with your Modern Label Punch. With a scrap of Certainly Celery, punch the WORD WINDOW punch FIRST, then center it in the Modern Label Punch and punch. :D It's like making your own Hodgepodge Hardware frame without metal! :D

We adhered the Certainly Celery piece on top of the Whisper White piece with 2-Way Glue Pen, then centered the label onto the bib and adhered with dimensionals. The ribbon's a piece of Pretty in Pink 1/4" grosgrain ribbon about 8 inches long; it's adhered to the front with SNAIL. Isn't that EASY?!?!?

This one is STRIKING in real life. VERY simple, but WOW. :)

Card stock: Kraft, Dusty Durango, Basic Black

Ink: Whisper White Craft, Dusty Durango Stampin 'Write Marker, Basic Black (inside)

Stamp sets: Autumn Splendor, A Beautiful Thing, A Rose is a Rose (inside)

Accessories: Black Gingham Ribbon, wide oval punch, distressor tool from Cutting Kit, dimensionals

It just says FALL, and FRIEND all over it. :)

OK. I'm off to work on more designs for Christmas cards for this weekend, and to work on the MY DIGITAL STUDIO showcase I'm doing here at the studio on Friday night. It's an INCREDIBLE program, so don't miss it if you can come! I also need to figure out what this week's 12 Weeks of Christmas is going to be - I have so many ideas, and so little time! LOL! Don't miss out on it, or ordering the things you need to do your Christmas cards!!!!!

Have a WONDERFUL day - and PLEASE! Take the time to STAMP something!!!!

Thursday, October 8, 2009

Yup, it's late on Thursday...

and I've been trying to decide what to post ALL day long. I've got ideas coming out all over, but not the TIME to get them done!!! With things in my home life demanding time, too, it's been a busy week! I have a party to plan for Saturday, too, and it's just starting to drive me a LITTLE crazy. :D

SO. Today's sample is one that I did for a group I'm on, where the challenge was a "no layer card". It turned out OK, but the second picture is what I ended UP with. :D I HAD to have a little more color, a little pop, a little pizazz. :D

See what I mean? It NEEDED that help. Well, maybe NOT, but.... :D Here's your recipe!

Card stocks: Basic Black, More Mustard, Whisper White

Ink: Whisper White Craft

Stamp set: Autumn Splendor

Accessories: Stampin' Pastels, Q-tip :D, Autumn Harvest Rub-Ons

Yup, rub-ons. That's the word in the corner, with the flower.

I can't remember the NAME of this technique, but I love it. :D Stamp your image(s) in white craft ink, then use a Q-tip to put Stampin' Pastels on top of the white ink. (You could use a cotton ball, but I like the more precise control of the cotton swab!) That's REALLY all there is to it! I masked off the word AFTER I rubbed it on, so it would be really black there.

What do you think? :D I'd love to hear from you!

Now, to go off and work on dinner, then the 2nd week of the TWELVE WEEKS OF CHRISTMAS emails! Only 78 days from TODAY, ladies!!! 11 weeks from TOMORROW!!! EEP! I gotta get busy.....

QUICK! Go STAMP SOMETHING!!! :D

Thursday, October 1, 2009

Scanned but not posted! :D

OOPS. I've been SO busy today - seriously. Who stole my day?!?!? :D I scanned this in, then made two pies. LOL!

PLEASE don't forget to enter for my blog candy giveaway! Just scroll down to Monday's blog entry; you've got until Sunday to enter! And it's not hard to find the answers to those questions - there IS a way to go to the first entries without having to scroll through every page! :D

So! This is my challenge card for Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge for this week. I have fallen in love with this color combination for some reason. LOL!

Card stocks: Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery

Stamp sets: Autumn Splendor, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Accessories: Ticket corner punch, Crystal Effects, Modern Label punch, Word Window punch

It's a pretty simple card, but TRUST ME, not having any fingerprints in the CE is a MIRACLE. LOL!!!! I really like it; it seems like a very soothing color combination. And I LOVE the versatility of the Autumn Splendor stamp set.

SO. Have you entered the challenge? I'd love to see what you come up with! :) So go STAMP SOMETHING!!!!

Last night's WOW Box Class!

I want to thank my fellow demonstrators Yvonne and Kathleen for sharing this GREAT project and the basic tutorial! We had a GREAT time last night, and made the cutest boxes - well, take a look for yourself. :)

We also did a coordinating card with Elegant Eggplant; it was SO easy to do this box!!! If you're looking for a great gift, take a look at their tutorial. (You'll still be sorry you missed our class. :D)

Here's the recipe:

Card stock: Ruby Red, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip

Stamp sets: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Autumn Splendor

Inks: Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip

Accessories: Chocolate Chip 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Autumn Traditions DSP, dimensionals

We did the candles because I had them and because Yvonne's tutorial used them - but you could put LOTS of things into this incredibly clever little box!

I'm telling you, you're missing a LOT when you miss my classes. :D

So. Have a WONDERFUL weekend, and don't forget to take the time to stamp something!!! :D Look for blog candy next week! :)

Happy Fall, AGAIN! :D

Hi, everyone! It's LOOKING like fall out my window - leaves are starting to turn, and it is kinda gloomy, as it's been for almost two weeks. But the temperatures are still warm, and the hummingbirds are chasing around the back yard. :)

Thanks so much for the comments on yesterday's cards! I'm glad you liked them; I think everyone who had a chance to make them had fun, too. :)

Today, I'm going to show you ONE of the three cards from last night's FANCY FOLDS II class; it qualifies for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge this week, so it's going to be my SECOND entry. :D Three shots: the front, the card standing open, and a shot of the top down - it's a shutter card!

First, the recipe!

Card stock: More Mustard, Sahara Sand, Garden Green, Whisper White

Ink: Chocolate Chip, White craft

Stamp sets: Autumn Splendor, Simple Friendship, A Rose is a Rose

Accessories: Autumn Traditions DSP, heat tool, embossing buddy, white embossing powder, dimensionals

I really, really love how this one came together - and the way the three stamp sets' WORDS coordinated with the DSP and the leaf stamp!

Now, standing open:

And, finally, from an angle on top, so you can see how unique the fold is!

We had a really great time with class last night; this was the most difficult of all of them, just because of the decorating part. The actual CARD is surprisingly easy! :)

I'd love to hear what you think of this one. And be on the alert: I'll probably be posting blog candy soon, because the new counter just flipped over 10,000 hits! :) THANK YOU for being such a loyal follower (if you are); you keep me stampin'!! :)

Now, take the time to STAMP SOMETHING, would ya?!?!?

Happy FALL! :D

Christmas is coming SOOOOOOO quickly!!! But it's now FALL, and it's one of our favorite times of year around here. :) Not only is it that time of year, but the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge this week is fall. :D

So, today I'm giving you the two samples from my clubs this month - which also happen to fall into the FALL category. LOL! Tomorrow, I'll HOPEFULLY get out the camera and do another fall card from tonight's Fancy Folds II class. It turned out really beautifully!

Anyway. :D On to the show!

This is a really simple card; the card stocks do most of the work! :)

Card stock: Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green, Ruby Red

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Garden Green, Ruby Red, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie

Stamp set: Lovely as a Tree

Accessories: ticket corner punch, sponges, dimensionals, Big Shot (I LOVE MY BIG SHOT!!), Perfect Details Texturz Plate (SU! exclusive, new this year!)

It was fun watching what different trees everyone came up with! :) Use more of one color than another, and it completely changes the feel of the piece!

This one is my personal favorite. :)

Card stock: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Dusty Durango

Ink: Versamark (Inside - Creamy Caramel)

Stamp set: Autumn Splendor (Holiday Mini), Celebrate Everything (Inside - Teeny Tiny Wishes)

Accessories: Heat tool, embossing buddy, clear embossing powder, gold embossing powder, Big Shot (yeah, you know it! :D), Top Note die (SU! exclusive!)

I wish you could see this one IRL; it's very RICH, and has beautiful texture. :)

OK! I'm off to clean up the studio a little bit before tonight's class. :) I can't wait to show you the cards from tonight, plus I have more 3D things to show you, as well! And next Monday is the Fall Stamp Camp, and the main project is sooooooooo great!! :D The second is pretty good, too! LOL!

Have a WONDERFUL evening! And for your sake, PLEASE take the time to STAMP something! :) Be blessed!

SO out of my comfort zone with this card!

Happy Thursday! It's still pouring outside most of the time - and LOTS of standing water! - but inside, I've got the fall decorations (which include LIGHTS this year, thanks to my mom! :D) and Christmas music playing while I design Christmas cards. It's pretty sweet. :D

ANYWAY. A dear friend of mine, Allison - HI, ALLISON! :D - pointed me to the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge Blog today. FUN stuff! So, I decided to take a break from designing Christmas cards to work on this challenge. This card meets the challenge requirements, will take up today on this blog, AND be something I can send to Sherrill! :D Sweet!

But I'm not really comfortable with square cards. I'm used to doing proportions for the standard card or a round card. Or maybe a SMALL 3x3 square, which is quite easy to fill. :D

Here's the recipe!

Card stock: Elegant Eggplant, Very Vanilla

Ink: Ruby Red and Chocolate Chip Craft Ink

Stamp sets: AUTUMN SPLENDOR and TEENY TINY WISHES

Accessories: Chocolate Chip corduroy button, gold cord, heat tool, embossing buddy, clear embossing powder, dimensionals, pop-up glue dots, AUTUMN TRADITIONS designer series paper.

Be sure and tell me what you think! And if you do the challenge, please be sure to tell me where it is, so I can come look!!! Regardless, make sure you take the time to STAMP SOMETHING!!! :)

Rainy days and Wednesdays??? :D

I woke up to the sound of POURING rain earlier, and it really hasn't let up much. There's standing water in both the front and back yards! Everything looks clean and renewed. :) And, as promised, here are the other three cards from last night's Advanced Techniques class! (All from TECHNIQUE JUNKIES, if I remember correctly! :D)

This one is called MODERN GRID.
It's an oldie but goody. :) Stamp set is JUST BUZZIN' BY; card stock colors are Whisper White and Pumpkin Pie. Stampin' Write Marker colors are Summer Sun, Bordering Blue, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, and Ruby Red; the words are stamped in Pumpkin Pie. :)

This won the favorite technique of the evening award. :D It's called BRUSHED INKS. Card stock colors are Very Vanilla, Close to Cocoa, and Glossy White. Ink colors are Pumpkin Pie, Creamy Caramel, and Close to Cocoa. The accessories we used are Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware, small oval punch, and Pumpkin Pie ribbon. The stamp sets are AUTUMN SPLENDOR and TEENY TINY WISHES. (I just love those sets!:D)

This last one, I can't remember for the LIFE of me the name of!!!! As soon as I find out, I'll edit this post and tell you. :D

Card stock colors are Whisper White and Night of Navy. Stamp set is CHRIST IS BORN. Inks are Regal Rose, Night of Navy, and Versamark. As accessories, we used the ticket corner punch, the embossing buddy and heat tool, and clear embossing powder. It's not done in your "normal" color choices for Christmas, but I really like this card!!!! :)

OK, it's your turn. Which technique is your favorite, just by the sample I showed you? (It's not a REAL test because a lot has to do with how much you ENJOY doing a technique....:D)

Now, then. Have you been stamping? Yes?? COOL! Show me what you've created! No?!?!? Oh, oh. You're probably all stressed out. Here. Have a seat. Here's an ink pad and a stamp. Let me get you some card stock. What color would you like?? You KNOW you wanna. It's THERAPY! :D So PLEASE, take the time to STAMP SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a great day! :D

Good morning! How are you doing today? Are you glad it's THURSDAY??? Got big plans for your weekend? :) My weeks feel like a slinky going down the stairs; the weekends are the really fast tumble, and the weekdays are more of the slow stretch! :D
