Today's the LAST DAY to vote!!!!!

Don't forget to vote for your favorite birthday card I received! Today is the LAST DAY! Just go to http://www.pbase.com/ifistand/bd_cards and leave a comment to tell me which one you think should win. Number 7 is the big hit so far, but you've got until MIDNIGHT CENTRAL TIME TONIGHT to vote!!!!!!
I'm on a group online who is doing something called POTS - Passin' On To Others - and this is what I made to pass along. It's a paper bag album, made with the retired Tickets & Tokens SS kit. I REALLY like it; it's a little austere inside, but I don't have any travelling stamps that really go with it - so I'll let the recipient add whatever she wants. :) It's a little hard to let it go, honestly! :D You can barely see the pocket tabs sticking out on the right side; I used the diecuts with the kit to make journaling cards. I hope she likes it!!
I'm getting my new Idea Books & Catalogs from Mr. Brown today!!!!!!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope he comes with plenty of time before I go to water aerobics; Ken won't let me skip that, and I REALLY want to look and OOOHHHH and AAAAAHHHH for a long time - then start making my MUST HAVE list. :D Be SURE and get your book!!!!!
Have a wonderful day - and try to do some stampin'! :)

I HATE WAITING!!!!

Will the new Idea Book & Catalog NEVER get here?!?!?!? I'm tired of waiting for it!! I need some new things to PLAY WITH!!!!! :)
So, while I was waiting, I thought I'd play with a new pattern I wanted to try. As far as I know, I haven't seen one on Stampin' Up!'s website like this one! I need to get a slit punch to make the opening work correctly, but I have BIG plans for this box! :) The flower is from HEARTFELT THANKS, Brocade Blue colors. It's pretty easy, and a good-sized box!
This is going to be a rough week to wait through. Not only am I waiting on the boxes of books to arrive on my doorstep, I'm also waiting for a medical procedure I have to have done Friday. It's going to be a LONG week! :)
If you live nearby, I hope you're planning on coming to the open house I'm having July 2 from 6:30 - 9. Pick up your new book, have a snack, take a look through my retired sets I've got for sale, and OOH and AAAH over the new IB&C with me! I SO cannot WAIT!!!!! :)

Good evening! :)

Not too much is happening here stampin'-wise; I'm (im)patiently waiting for the new Idea Book & Catalog to make its appearance. Today, the Retired Accessories List came out, causing the same furor on demonstrator lists that it and the Retired Stamp List cause each year. I try to be as low-keyed as I can, knowing that we'll lose some things I really loved, but also will get some wonderful new toys, too. If you haven't seen either list yet, contact your local demonstrator, or email me at poohisstampin@aol.com!

Sorry about the ink on the front of this card; EVERY sample from my 10/10/10 classes seems to get ink on it somewhere. :) I actually moved the front piece on this card after I scanned it. :) I've loved this color blue from the In Color selection this year - it's Cool Carribean. Such a nice choice, just a little lighter than Tempting Turquoise. And I'm sorry to see it go - but I've already decided that I absolutely LOVE the new Purely Pomegranate color!!!!! Can't wait to start showing you samples of things made with both new colors/accessories AND new stamps!

I forgot that I didn't put a time limit on voting for your favorite birthday card! Let's make it NEXT TUESDAY, JUNE 26, midnight Central time!!! Click on this link to go vote: http://www.pbase.com/ifistand/bd_cards.

Tomorrow night is a STAMP ANYTHING YOU WANT at my house. I think everyone will have a good time, and I don't have to plan anything. :D I hope YOU have a great day!

Ho, hummmmmm....

GOSH, I feel like doing NOTHING!!!! I don't know if it's because I REALLY don't want to work on the show from the 23rd - July 1, or after-birthday blues, or just plain ol' laziness. Have I told y'all that I HATE being hot? I sure do miss those ocean breezes!!!!!

So, since I knew I wanted to show you SOMETHING, and not just whine :D, I came up with this little 3x3 card; the stamped image is embossed, and the polka dots are a pencil eraser. I don't have a dot that's the size I wanted, and this one works perfectly. :) If I have an occasion in the future to hand out business boosters, these are probably something I'll do for that - and I can put a piece of candy or something inside, and my business card. :) What do you think?

News flash: Stampin' Up! let us know today that there are quality issues with the CLEAR DETAIL EP, so they've discontinued it already. It's NO LONGER AVAILABLE. Hmmmmmmm. I sure hope SOMETHING will be taking its place - I use it ALL the time!!!!! Like on THIS card!!!

Just two more days until the retired accessories list comes out! I can't WAIT - it means we're one more step closer to the new Idea Book & Catalog coming out!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get YOUR IB&C preordered today!!!!! Don't forget my Open House on July 2 from 6:30 - 9!!!!!!!!

Gonna go do nothin' again. :D Hope you're having a much more productive week than I am!

OK, go VOTE!!!

I spent some time today uploading all the scans of birthday cards I received, so it's time to get this contest going. There are seven entries for you to choose from; you might have a hard time with this one!

Simply go to http://www.pbase.com/ifistand/bd_cards and leave a comment, telling me which one you think should win. It's that easy to vote! I haven't RAK'd back the senders yet, not all of them. Life just never seems to stop going, does it?!? If we could only tap the way time speeds ahead, we'd need no crude oil! LOL!!

Now, I don't think I'll tell you what the prize will be; but I promise, I give GREAT prizes! Here's what Cheryl - the prize-winner from the May scrapbooking contest - said when she received hers:
I got my package from you in the mail today! Thank you SO much for the simply scrappin pack! I've never had one of these, and it is perfect for me! I love the colors and the die cuts! I am so excited! I can't wait to play with it! Thanks so much. I hope you had a great birthday!

:) I like to make people happy! So, GOOD LUCK if yours is one of the seven entries! If you're not, maybe you want to go stamp a little! Who knows when I'll have another contest going on? :)

Have a wonderful day! Keep cool, and count your blessings!

Back to real life now....

It's back to "normal" around here today. :) Yesterday was nice - and thank you to all who wished me a happy birthday! I'll get the card contest entries up on a website soon, so y'all can start voting on them. :)
My sister, Kelli, and her husband sent me this flower bouquet; wasn't that SWEET of her??!!??!?! SO thoughtful! THANK YOU, KELLI! It's downstairs in my office area, so I can truly enjoy them. :)
Guess it's time to get back to work today. I'm waiting for a supply order to arrive, so I can start planning projects for my New Idea Book Party on July 2. I SO cannot wait!!!!!!! And I'd love to hear what YOU would love to see in it; I've heard hints of some of the new accessories, and they're AWESOME, everyone!!! WOO, HOO!!!!! Be sure to contact your Stampin' Up! demonstrator to preorder YOUR Idea Book!!!
OK. Guess I'd better go get busy. :) Have a wonderful day, everyone! Count your blessings, not your burdens!

Happy Birthday to ME, Happy Birthday to ME...!

Yup. The big FOUR-OH. That's today, June 12. It's been a good celebration so far, with getting pedicures with four wonderful girlfriends Sunday, and getting presents from friends who are also customers Monday night. :)

This card sample is from my 10/10/10 class Monday night, too! Thanks to Melissa, my downline and one of my awesome girlfriends, for the oval punches - this is using the large oval, and the 1-1/4: circle punch. The "happy" is from Polka Dots & Paisley. Colors of card stock are Garden Green, YoYo Yellow, and Creamy Caramel. We dragged the YoYo Yellow through a Summer Sun ink pad, and the Creamy Caramel through a Close to Cocoa ink pad, after we'd wadded each punch up and straightened it out again. I just think this is too cute - and hardly any stamping, although the little stamping IS embossed with the orange EP from the Brights EP Stack.

I am SOOOOOOOOOO looking forward to the new Idea Book & Catalog!!! We keep getting small hints of what will be in the accessories section - like a new scallop circle punch, and dyable flowers - that make me SURE the best are yet to be shown. AUGH!!!!!!!! They're such TEASES at Stampin' Up! :D

Well, I'll post on Wednesday what we did for my birthday. Ken's already told me the food plan, and I must say, it's a good one. :D Don't forget, you can still email me a file of a birthday card you've stamped until MIDNIGHT CENTRAL TIME JUNE 12!!!! Email it to me at poohisstampin@aol.com, OK? I'd LOVE for you to win my contest!!!

Talk to you Wednesday. :) Have a wonderful day!

We had SO much fun yesterday!!!

I took control of my birthday somewhat this year; I decided I wanted to celebrate with some girlfriends, too - so I said, "Let's all get a pedicure, go to dinner, then go swimming!" So, my friends Angela, Cris, Melissa, and Amy and I all went to get pedicures at the Walmart in Lebanon. It was a great experience - they even stayed open late to get us all in. The chairs were massage chairs, and the pedicures were spa pedicures, so everyone was so relaxed! :) Dinner didn't work out exactly as I'd hoped, but it was good - and the girls took care of my dinner costs. :) I got great presents, too. :D Forty still doesn't sound like an age I want to be, but it's what I turn tomorrow, so I guess getting presents helps ease the pain a LITTLE. :D
After dinner, Melissa had to go home - she's the only one of us who has an outside-the-house job, and her family had just gotten back from a trip, so she was pretty wiped out. The rest of us piled into Amy's van and went to her in-laws (who are out of town currently) and went swimming. I LOVE TO SWIM AT NIGHT! It was a BEAUTIFUL night, and we had a wonderful time. After we'd been in the water for about two hours, we went inside and just talked for another hour or so. I got home right at midnight, and it was one of the best times I've had in a VERY long time. Thank you, girls!!!!
Another girlfriend told me yesterday morning that they're PREGNANT! Congrats, Joni and Ryan!!!! :) (Seems like EVERYONE in our choir is pregnant - except yours truly....:D)
Today is a stampin' class; I had two cancellations, so I've got extra card stock again. If anyone local reads this and wants to come stamp, please do! :D
Don't forget that TOMORROW is your LAST DAY to get your birthday card contest entry in to me! Look at previous posts, or email me at poohisstampin@aol.com to get more info. I'd LOVE to have a few more entries, y'all!
Gotta jet - have to make a Tunnel of Fudge cake for my customers tonight, and write thank-you notes for my gifts. :) Have a wonderful day!

Friends are so wonderful!

My girlfriends had a party set up for me at our church's craft night last night; the decor was flip-flops! :D The cake was adorable, and I actually had a piece for breakfast. Don't tell anyone!! I didn't get a lot done, but it was good to spend time with everyone. A few people actually dropped by just to tell me happy birthday; it was REALLY sweet. I appreciated EVERYONE'S effort - and Amy for getting the cake made at the Hermitage Bakery! :D
Time is quickly running out for my birthday card contest, everyone! I've only received a few to enter! Why not email me a file today???? You could win!!! :)
Have a wonderful weekend! Count your blessings, and spend time with someone you love!

Happy Thursday! :D

Phew, what a week it's been! Can you believe I've been home just over three weeks already? Time is FLYING - can't I get back on the plane?? PLEASE? :D
ANYWAY. Enough whining from me. Tonight is my "Shake, Rattle, & Roll" class; this card design is one of the five we're doing. I don't know; five MAY be way overboard. They took me a lot of time to do - but maybe it won't be so bad for my customers, since I had to figure out what the heck I was doing. :D This card is a slider card; you can see a fantastic tutorial here - http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/spinner.php - the only difference is, I used my Word Window Punch for the spinner channel. (Sorry the scan is crooked; the bed of my scanner is difficult to work with when the thing I'm scanning isn't perfectly flat!!!) The set is POLKA DOTS & PAISLEY, from the Spring Mini Catalog. It's an unusual color choice for me, but I find this one refreshing, somehow - Green Galore, Glorious Green, and YoYo Yellow. I widened the channel a bit to accommodate the Stampin' Dimensionals, and had to use a NICKEL to put behind it! :D It's a HEAVY spinner, for sure! I finished it up with the ticket corner punch and the saying. The class is more about the TECHNIQUE involved, not necessarily the design - but I like both! :)
Congratulations again to Cheryl, our contest-winner from the May Scrapbooking Contest! Your prize went out in the mail today! (Speaking of which, this is my first time to send out anything via USPS since the postage hike. And I thought that paying for GAS was ridiculous!!!!) Anyway. :D I hope you enjoy your prize; please let me know when you receive it!
Only five more days to enter the Birthday Card Contest; see previous posts for details! I want everyone to have a chance to win! :D
Off to work some more! Have a wonderful evening, everyone!

I am totally CRAZY!!!

I can't help but laugh at myself. :) I had a workshop tonight, I have a class Thursday, and I have large classes on Monday. That's THREE different things to design and prepare for within SIX days! PLUS my birthday celebrations start on Friday night. :D I deserve it, right?????

Speaking of which, don't forget my contest going on! Stamp me a card, and either email me the scan, or email me at poohisstampin@aol.com to get my snail mail address to send me the HARD copy (and I'll RAK you back!). You'll be entered into a contest, and have a great chance of winning a prize! I've got one email file, and know one snail mail card is on its way. The rules were posted earlier in the blog, so you can look at them - the BIG one is I MUST have it by JUNE 12!!!!!! :)

This card is one of the projects for tonight's workshop. ALL Stampin' Up!® product, of course - Real Red, Basic Black, and Whisper White CS, MINI MATES stamp set, which is retiring . Black ginham ribbon, red EP from the Brights EP Stack, ticket corner punch. I thought it turned out really great! :) Let me know what you think!
