OK, here's a layout! :D

I'm back, and recooperating nicely - thank you to all who asked. :)
So, this is layout #1 from our scrapbook class last week. Or this week, I guess - it's been a long week. :D Let me tell you, I've been punch-happy lately. I LOVE OUR PUNCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!
This layout uses the Bright Bulbs Stampin' Around wheel; the cartridge hadn't been reinked in a while, so I got this odd color. I promise I reinked it before anyone else used it! :D Then you see my fave ticket corner punch on the black mat. We used the spiral punch for both the filmstrip and the "notebook" paper, plus the 1-3/8" square punch for the filmstrip.
To finish the "notebook" paper, we punched a hole with a regular paper punch, then drew lines with a Real Red Stampin' Write marker at the top, and all the way down the paper with a Bashful Blue marker. Doesn't it look like real paper? :D But this is safe for your scrapbooks!
OK, I'm gonna run. Still not 100%, and it's lunch time. :D Have a WONDERFUL day - and please, take the time to STAMP something!!!

I know I owe you scrapbook layouts...

but I just HAD to share this card. :D I'm trying to use up all the things I've die cut in the last 24 hours, so I'm making cards like you wouldn't believe. LOL!

Well, this is obviously the negative of the pumpkin diecut.

The eyes and nose are pieces from another shape diecut. The mouth is pieces of two different punches.

The background card stock is Tangerine Tango, one of the new IN COLORs. I dragged it with Pumpkin Pie ink. The other colors are Chocolate Chip, Only Orange, and Creamy Caramel. Isn't it FUN!?!?!??!?!?

I'm having another eye procedure done tomorrow, but hopefully in the afternoon, I'll get at least one scrapbook LO up for you. :)

Until then, TAKE THE TIME TO STAMP SOMETHING!!!!

I just HAD to share!!!

Most of you know that Stampin' Up!® has partnered with Sizzix to offer the Big Shot and exclusive dies; they'll be available for you to purchase starting September 2.
Well, I got MINE today, and have just been playing. :D I don't want to show you a LOT, but I did want to show you this card - the only thing STAMPED is the greeting. I used a LOT of ink! The maple leaf is all ink, and I used the reverse mask from cutting the leaf out from some card stock; I just filled in the cutout area with a stipple brush and Ruby Red classic ink. The card base is Sahara Sand - just because I already had it cut. :D
The pumpkin is a die that I cut, and colored the stem with Creamy Caramel, and I lowlighted (Is that a word?!?!) the main part of it with Pumpkin Pie.
The "Happy Thanksgiving" is from HOLIDAYS & WISHES, and I stamped it with Chocolate Chip ink and punched it out with our new LARGE OVAL PUNCH. (Love my punches!!!) :) Edged the punch in Pumpkin Pie, and edged the card with it, too. The pumpkin is on one thickness of dimensionals, and the punch is on two.
It was a LOT of fun to do this card!!! :) I can't wait to continue showing you new things with my new toys! :D

I received an award! :D

It's Sunday night...! :)

I wanted to get a jump on this week; tomorrow is Scrapbooking classes, and Thursday I'm having another eye procedure done - so lots to fit in between now and then. :) And one of the first things I wanted to do was share the other two cards from the Advanced Techniques class with you! :)

The first one is again from TECHNIQUE JUNKIES, and the second is from my friend JOCIEL'S BLOG. Super fun!

This is called "glowing image". The angel stamp is from HOLY TRIPTYCH, a stamp set that was in last year's Holiday Mini and made it into the -08 Fall/Winter Idea Book & Catalog! I was so happy to see it - there are four stamps in the set, and they're all beautiful. :D

Anyway. Base card stock is Perfect Plum, as are the "dots" - from BASIC BACKGROUNDS - around the angel. The image is stamped on Almost Amethyst, and then layered onto Whisper White card stock. And yes, I DID use my favorite ticket corner punch again! :D

This card is ALL about the punches. :D Jociel's tutorial on the scallop edge punch made the fun DSP - Bella Rosa!!! - square frames easy. The base card stock is Very Vanilla, layered with Chocolate Chip - and the beautiful light pink is the new IN COLOR, Pink Pirouette. Well, would you look there. The ticket corner punch again. Who would have guessed??? :D
The sentiment is from WONDERFUL YOU, and stamped in Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla, then punched out with the Word Window Punch. The flower is two 5 petal flower punches stacked, with the large punch from the Boho Blossoms flower punch of Chocolate Chip in the center. The sparkle is made by dipping a dimensional in light blue Cosmo glitter. The leaf is a small oval punched out of Kiwi Kiss - another new IN COLOR - that was folded in half, then run through our crimper. It was a FUN card to do! It's always fun to learn new uses for your punch, yes? :D
OK, I'm off. Time to go spend a little time with Kenn before the week hits. :D And tomorrow? Yeah. I'll be STAMPIN'. :D I hope YOU are taking the time to STAMP something, too!!!!!!!!!

Good morning! :)

Good Thursday morning, everyone! :) How are you today? It's a good day to stamp, isn't it. :D

I'm going to show you two cards today from the Advanced Techniques class; this one is another bandanna technique card. I really like the way the colors are set off each other using the black and white mats. This is the one we did IN class. :)

Both techniques today were ones I received as a subscription from TECHNIQUE JUNKIES.

This is a top latch card. We used the WINDS OF GRACE stamp set. I love sponging to get color onto the image! :) The verse from the stamp set is actually four smaller lines, so we used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to make it into a two-line, longer verse. :)
I certainly hope YOU are taking the time to STAMP something! :)

Technique we learned last night!

Hi, everyone! Last night was Advanced Techniques, and this is one of the techniques we learned. We did a different card, which I'll share at a later date, but this is the bandanna technique.
I learned it from Pat at TECHNIQUE JUNKIES; LOTS of great techniques, everyone! It's a subscription site, but I love looking at everyone's artwork! :)
The reason I wanted to share THIS card and not the one we did last night is because Shelli Gardner, CEO of Stampin' Up!, has started a new blog. It's for both demonstrators and customers, and one of the things she has is a stamping challenge. So far, it's going to be monthly, but we'll see how it goes. :D
This is my entry into the challenge! I really love this technique, and it's a great use of both our classic inks and the white gel pen. LOVE it! :) What do YOU think of it? And what are YOU stampin'? Please, tell me you're taking the time to STAMP something!!!!! :D

HAPPY WEEKEND!!! :D

Well, it's time to start showing you a sample every now and then that I made to showcase a couple of the new sets. I'll start with this one; it's the only one I've made with this Level 3 hostess-only set, but it has LOTS of potential - I can't wait to start using it! :D

The colors are So Saffron, Whisper White, Not Quite Navy, and an IN COLOR, Tangerine Tango. :) Just stamped, colored with markers, and used my favorite ticket corner punch.

The colors are SO happy together!! There are a LOT of things that can either be stamped to be on the windowsill, or seen outside the windowsill, with this stamp set. Those things are ALSO perfect for TAGS!!! :) We'll be punch-happy around here for a while! LOL!

Well, I'm going to leave you in peace now - but I wanted to share with you. I'm LOVING hearing from all of you! If you're local, and would like my class schedule - or if you're not, but would still like to receive my newsletter! - please email me! I LOVE my stampers; they're the BEST in the world. :)

Thanks for dropping in! And I hope you're finding time to STAMP something!! :) BE BLESSED!

Yesterday's class!

Good Friday afternoon! :) Have you had a good week? Have you been BUSY? Have you fit any stamping in??? :D

Well, around HERE, we're waiting for our first order from the new Idea Book & Catalog to come in - so we did a Retired Stamps Quick Card Class yesterday. I'm going to share all four of them today, because they're great layouts, great cards, and I don't want to drag them out since you can't get the stamps anymore! :D

Here's the first one. Since all the stamps are retired, I'm not going to bother telling you which sets they were - if you see something you'd like more information about, just email me!

Colors are Pink Passion, Only Orange, and Green Galore. Whisper White card stock, too, of course. And see that white grosgrain ribbon? We used our Green Galore Stampin' Write marker to color just the edges of it. It helps bring in that lovely green color someplace else. :)

Oh, and the scallop on the bottom is the new Scallop Edge Punch - how fun is it?!?!? So simple to use, too! :) It's been a very popular item already!

On to the next card.....

This one was one of my all-time favorite stamp sets. :) We stamped him in Stazon and colored with Stampin' Write markers. Colors are Real Red, Basic Black, and Whisper White.

You'll notice that wonderful awesome Ticket Corner Punch. :D I just love that thing....:D

Next.....

This one I LOVE. I loved ALL the SKETCHES-type stamp sets, and especially this stamp with the girl looking out to sea. It can be SO many different emotions!!!

The top layer is Pink Pirouette, one of the new IN COLORs. That's GOING GRAY, not BASIC GRAY, that she's stamped in. We embossed the saying over her, then highlighted it - or is it lowlighting with a darker color?? - with Pretty in Pink ink. Sponged with that ink, too, along the Pink Pirouette edges.

The smaller pic is the INSIDE of the card; we also embossed the white in there. I really like this card. It's very easy, but such a sweet look....

OK, on to the next!

This was one of the first Stampin' Up! sets I ever bought, and I still love it. I decided to highlight it as an heirloom look on this design.
It's stamped in Basic Brown, and colored with a blender pen and Stampin' Pastels (chalks, for those of you unfamiliar with that term. :D) on Very Vanilla. The edges of all card stock and front of card are sponged with Creamy Caramel.
We cut out the ovals - the other's in Mellow Moss - with the Coluzzle. There's a tiny butterfly stamped in Barely Banana on the Barely Banana card, then it's distressed with the Creamy Caramel. :)
And now the final one!

I REALLY like this one. The stamp set was from the COUNTRY LIVING MAGAZINE PROMO two years ago. HEADS UP: Keep your eyes and ears out for another wonderful promo this fall!!!!
Anyway. Anyone who knows me knows I love fall - it's just below Christmas on my favorites list! :D - and I love these leaves.
We stamped them in Versamark, then pounced on them with a cotton ball filled with Stampin' Pastels. The blessings stamp is from another set that was only in a mini catalog. The colors are Very Vanilla and Ruby Red. Then, we stamped the little leaf on vellum with Versamark, and CAREFULLY pounced on it with Ruby Red chalk, and cut them out. Crumpled a bit, they look like real leaves! :)
Now you've got LOTS of inspiration!! I'd LOVE to see what you're stampin'! Leave your blog address for me, and I'll come visit! Don't have a blog? Scan and email to me! :D Don't have that kind of capability? SEND it to me. :D Or bless SOMEONE with what you're working on!
Started your Christmas projects yet??? ;D Hope you're stampin' SOMETHING!!!!

Challenge - and I used a new set, AND new colors!

Good morning, everyone! A long, LONG time ago, I told you about a great new - then, anyway! - website that was all about challenges. Well, I FINALLY had a chance to go back and participate again. Here's the website - http://stampchallenges.blogspot.com/ - and here's my card!

The set is new, FRESH CUTS - it's the one that came out as a sneak peek in May, and coordinates with the laser-cut envelopes....

Colors used are Pacific Point - a new IN COLOR - and Gable Green and Blush Blossom. The little medallion is made from punches from the Boho Blossom punch. Inks include Gable Green, Pretty in Pink - Blush Blossom didn't show up well enough! - and White Craft. I distressed the edges of the two layered pieces - this feels shabby chic to me, no? :D

OK, off to work - have a class tomorrow using RETIRED stamps! :) So, I'm doing LOTS of stamping here - what are YOU working on?? You are stamping, aren't you??? Well, then, TAKE TIME TO STAMP SOMETHING! :D Have a wonderful day!

Isn't it Monday YET?!?!?!?

I so can't WAIT for my New Idea Book & Open House!!!!!!!!!!!! There are so many awesome specials and new toys - er, ummmmm, useful stamps and accessories.... :D

While we're waiting, here's another scrapbook layout from class last month. It's another 6x6:

It was my favorite layout. :) We used Summer Sun, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, and Whisper White card stocks. The set is A BEAUTIFUL THING, We stamped the solid image with Summer Sun first, then did the Chocolate Chip detail over top. The punches are done with the 5 petal flower punch - the first time we've used it in a class, and I just LOVE it!!! We layered the Old Olive underneath the Summer Sun one to give it more of a flower feel, and put a brad through to hold them together. Then, we put them on the page with dimensionals, so that corner of the photo can still go on the mat. The three Whisper White flowers are for either journaling or smaller photos.

So, what are YOU working on??? I would love to hear from you! :) MONDAY IS ON ITS WAY - I hope you're taking the time to STAMP something!

Tuesday, August 5, 2008

Good morning!

Well, I don't know about YOU, but things are reaching a fever pitch around here as I count down the days until the NEW IDEA BOOK & CATALOG release!!!!!!! I'm planning a couple of great projects for the Open House Monday evening, from 5-8, and stamping some samples for the Inspiration Station - and drumming my fingers on the desk, waiting for the boxes of IB&Cs to get here!!!!! :D

SO, while we wait, here's another sample from the Scrapbooking class last month:

Colors are Bashful Blue and Almost Amethyst. We stamped the dragonfly from INFINITE GOODNESS - the Level 2 hostess-only set from the CURRENT IB&C; if you'd still like to earn it, we have FIVE DAYS to get your party order in! :D - in Bashful Blue on the card stock, then took the Almost Amethyst Stampin' Write marker and outlined its wings.

We then stamped him in the same ink on vellum, and colored in the wings - then embossed with Irridescent Ice embossing powder. Because even classic ink dries slowly on vellum, we were able to use it to emboss, and vellum embellishments are HUGE right now! :D Then, we cut them out and bent their wings up, and stuck them down. Oh, and used the ticket corner punch on the mats. Simple and easy, but appropriate for a LOT of subject matter! :)

So. I'm waiting and working and WAITING.... :) What are you doing? I sure hope you're taking the time to STAMP something.... ;D Have a WONDERFUL day!
