Happy FRIDAY!

Wow. The last Friday of May, the last POST of May. The year's almost halfway over - can you believe that it's only 210 days until Christmas?!?!? :D Take a look at the counter on this page! LOL!

If you're anywhere around me, tonight is a free stamp & scrap night at my house - just bring a snack to share, and the stuff you want to work on. I'll be workin' on stuff, too! :)

Anyway. For today's post, I wanted to use up a little more of my designer series paper - since I know there's going to be LOTS I'm going to want to play with in the new Idea Book & Catalog, I want to clean out what I've got. :D

This is a 6x6 card; it would be EASY to turn this into a 2-page 6x6 layout. I'd use this side for one of the pages, and cut on the score line to do the second page. Here's the picture, and then I'll give you the recipe! :)

Card stock: Very Vanilla, Taken With Teal

Inks: Basic Brown, Taken With Teal

Stamp set: Just Buzzin' By....

Accessories: Creamy Caramel, More Mustard and Taken With Teal Stampin' Write Markers, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, Crystal Effects, AquaPainters, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, 2-Way Glue Pen, dimensionals, paper snips, Five-Petal Flower Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Game Night DSP

Isn't it FUN? :) The DSP just reminded me of a picnic tablecloth! It's the other side of the DSP I used on this project earlier in the year. (The one on the tin!)

OK. I'm off! Have a WONDERFUL weekend! And take a little time to STAMP SOMETHING! :)

Stationery Box Class

Hi! So sorry it's late in the day again; I'm going to work on tomorrow's post while Kenn's gone tonight, so I can get it prescheduled. (I figure if I put it in writing, I'll feel obligated....:D)

SO. Here are pictures from earlier this month; this stationery box was a lot of fun to do, and would make a FANTASTIC gift - it's more labor-intensive than expensive, and with today's economy, isn't that what we're all looking for? I got the tutorial HERE, from Jackie Topa; she's AMAZINGLY talented, and has some fantastic things - please take a look around her blog, too!

On with the pictures!!!! Unless there's something terribly important to share with you, I'm just putting up the pictures. As always, click on the picture for a larger look - then click on your back button to come back and continue! :)

For all the projects, we used Whisper White and Pacific Point card stock, and Pacific Point designer series paper. The ribbon on the box top is Whisper White 1/4" grosgrain.

This is the inside of the box. The little side envelope holds stamps.

Underneath the flap is a regular 3x3 post-it notepad.

The top part of the box holds cards, a notebook - for addresses, etc. - and gift cards.

Here's a picture of that little notebook:
Then there's that small side pocket that looks empty! It's got eight greetings from SINCERE SALUTATIONS stamped in Pacific Point and punched with the scallop oval punch from the OCCASIONS MINI, only available for another month!

As you can see on a couple of the projects, we also used the eyelet edge punch. I love that thing. :D

The greeting punches will fit on both the smaller enclosure cards AND on the larger cards, as you can see from these last pictures!

So, that's it for today - but I think it's a lot! :D Even if you don't do the whole box, a set of the cards with the salutation punches would make an easy, quick, THOUGHTFUL gift!

You do realize that MONDAY will be the release of the LAST CHANCE LIST, right? Formerly called The Retired List, THE LAST CHANCE LIST is the listing of all the CURRENT STAMP SETS that will be GONE come July 1!!! That's when the new Idea Book & Catalog makes its appearance - but it's also the day we say farewell to some favorite sets. Be watching - I'll post that list, or a link to the list, Monday.

But Monday is also the start of the THIRD ANNUAL BIRTHDAY CARD CONTEST, and you'll want to be sure to enter that! :)

Tomorrow will be the last post of the month. WOW. Hard to believe it's flown! :) Have a wonderful evening, my friends. And at least TRY to take the time to STAMP SOMETHING, would ya!?:D

It's WEDNESDAY! :)

Hi, all! I'm really sorry that I haven't been posting as long or as often as I should; Kenn blew up all the laptops, so until HIS new PC gets here, we're SHARING this one. I bet you can guess how that's going. :D

ANYWAY. Last night was my first OPPORTUNITY NIGHT, and no one came. :D It's too bad, too - I had this cute project to share. I found a tutorial for it HERE, but had to fix one or two things. Here's the pictures of the one I did for last night! (While you're at Stephanie's blog, check out some of her other projects - she does great work!!!!!)

Isn't it CUTE?!?!?

Here's the low-down:

Card stocks: Cameo Coral, Whisper White, Summer Sun, Garden Green, Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla (see next picture)

Ink: Cameo Coral

Stamp sets: Really Retro (see next picture), Boho Backgrounds

Accessories: Five-petal flower punch, scallop circle punch, 1/2" circle punch, small oval punch, scallop edge punch, Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon, Build-a-brad, dimensionals, crimper

SO fun to do! Here's what it looks like when you pull out the insert:

This card WILL fit in a standard card envelope! You just have to be careful when putting the flowers on to keep it at the 5-1/2" heighth.

OK. Lots to do today, not to mention getting off here soon so Kenn can have his "turn". :D

Have a WONDERFUL day! If you try one of these flower pot cards, I'd LOVE to see what you do!

Because you ARE going to take the time to STAMP SOMETHING, aren't you?!?!?! ;)

So, today is the LAST DAY to enter for the BLOG CANDY!! You MUST read THIS post and leave a comment on THIS POST. :) I can't wait to see who wins! :D

Edit: I know the surprise box link STILL doesn't work. Just email me at poohisstampin@aol.com and I'll send you the PDF file. ::sigh:: I tried! :)

Today and Monday I'm going to share cards from last night's Quick Card Class. We had a great time! Let me know what you think of them, will you? :D

This is NOT an original punch design - it's been floating around for a while, but I just think it's too cute for words. :D So, we used it last night!

Card stocks: Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery, Going Gray

Inks: Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal

Stamp sets: Boho Backgrounds, Holidays & Wishes

Now, go STAMP SOMETHING, will ya?!??! :D

Thursday, May 21, 2009

It's already been a good day! LOL!!

Can you believe it?!?!? I'm a featured artist on Elaine's Blog!!!!! Go check her blog out - she asked me some great questions, and it's a REALLY nice post. :) I'm SO flattered - thanks, Elaine! :)

Elaine wrote and asked me how I could do so many posts after last week's blog tour - wasn't I too tired? LOL!!! When I design SO MANY projects, like I have this week, I GOTTA show them off to SOMEONE, right? :D Plus, I had Monday's blog post already written when we did the tour; since I knew what I wanted to show off, AND needed to explain about the blog candy, it was easy. Gave me another day off, too! LOL! I need to do more of the advanced blogging.... :D

OK, so for SOME odd reason the SURPRISE FRIENDSHIP BOX link yesterday didn't work. :/ Try this, and let me know if you found it. If not, leave me your email address and I'll try sending you the direct link - it'll open Adobe Reader on your computer... CLICK HERE, and then click on the SECOND link, where it says SURPRISE FRIENDSHIP BOX.

I'm having computer problems today, so I want to get this out to you ASAP. So, on with the show!

This first card is the third from the Advanced Techniques class the other night. It's called Painted Pigments, and I love the brightness of it! :D If you want to know how to do it, however, you'll need to GO HERE and subscribe! It's worth the money!

Card stock: Whisper White, Basic Black

Inks: Versamark, Summer Sun, Cameo Coral, and Ruby Red pigment

Stamp set: Inspired by Nature

Accessories: I CAN'T TELL YOU! :)

But don't you just love the colors, and the way the silhouette pops?

THIS ONE is for tonight's Quick Card class; I designed it for a challenge at Late Night Stampers - a great group for both demos and non, if you're interested let me know! - but it's so easy, and so pretty, that I had to encorporate it into tonight's class. I know Mary won't mind seeing it before she does it. :D We'll also be using Chocolate Chip taffeta instead of the Kraft you see here.... DON'T MISS ANOTHER CLASS! Click HERE to see my schedule!!!
Card Stocks: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive
Inks: Old Olive, Ruby Red - both Classic and Craft
Stamp set: Fifth Avenue Floral (What else?? :D), INSIDE - A Little Birthday Cheer
Accessories: Big Shot - YES! I LOVE THAT MACHINE!! :D, Stampin' Up! Exclusive Texturz Plates, clear embossing powder, embossing buddy, heat tool, sponge, kraft taffeta ribbon
OK! I'm off to finish designing for tonight. LOL!!!!! Have a WONDERFUL day, and TAKE THE TIME TO STAMP SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and don't forget to enter for the BLOG CANDY HERE!!!! You only have until tomorrow night to enter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

We have SO much fun doing these classes - and last night was no exception. :) We did one of the cards from the last blog tour, so I won't show you that one again. QUICK POST!

I'm on my way out the door to meet a new friend for lunch, but I HAD to tell you how much fun we had last night at the SURPRISE BOX class!!! If you missed it, you missed OUT, let me tell you! :D

First, I got the directions I followed from Pam Curtis of Creative Choice Designs. I'll try and find a URL for you when I get home.

These are how they look when you're finished - unless you're going to embellish them. :D We pretty much let the designer series paper do the work here; I really like how clean the lines are, and I don't think I'd do too much to mess with them. :D

And THIS is how they look on the inside!!!

Aren't they ADORABLE? Besides using a paper trimmer and a hole punch, EVERYTHING is done by hand for these fun boxes. The box on the left is done with Pacific Point DSP and Whisper White card stock; the box on the right is Riding Hood Red DSP and Whisper White.

Here's a little closer look at one:
They were REALLY fun - we folded, and folded and folded, and then folded some more, while we just chatted away. :)
OK, I'm grabbing my stuff and running. :D Don't miss a class again! :D CLICK HERE to check on my class schedule.
I hope you have a GREAT day - don't forget to enter on YESTERDAY'S POST to win some blog candy, and for PETE'S SAKE, take the time to STAMP SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Welcome to MONDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome back!! Did you have a good weekend?? Did you enjoy the blog tour?? I certainly hope so - I LOVE having people look at my blog, and I enjoyed going to all the links and seeing the great samples!

Today, as promised, I have another sample to show you with the SIMPLE FRIENDSHIP stamp set, and a clickable list of links to the photos of projects I've already showed. If you are a regular visitor, you'll probably get bored with the list of projects. :D But be sure to read along, anyway, and enter to win the SURPRISE BLOG CANDY!! By the way, you'll also want to be sure and visit here on JUNE 1 for my THIRD ANNUAL BIRTHDAY CARD CONTEST!!! I can't believe it's already been a year since the last. ;)

Anyway! Here we go!

This the MATCHBOOK DIE that is in the OCCASIONS MINI - you can click the link to the right to download it for yourself! I love this little box; it's the PERFECT size for four Hershey's nuggets, or a multitude of other things!

These use a mixture of RIDING HOOD RED, CANDY LANE, and BELLA ROSE Designer Series Paper. (Those are three of my faves from the current IB&C!) That glorious ribbon is the organza ribbon from the IB&C. It's very luxurious! The base of both boxes is Riding Hood Red card stock.

The saying on the label is from - what else?? :D - SIMPLE FRIENDSHIP. I really like the simplicity of these boxes! I let the DSP and the ribbon do all the decorating work, and used ONE stamp. :)

If you'd like to continue looking at previous projects I've shared, please click on the following links. It will ONLY take you to their photos; you'll have to browse the last month's entries to find out details. :)

CLICK HERE for an Advanced Techniques card.

CLICK HERE for a pretty pink birthday card.

CLICK HERE for what I think is my favorite card I've designed with this set!

CLICK HERE for a great Real Red card.

Woah, that's a LOT of reading today! :D I hope you've enjoyed the SIMPLE FRIENDSHIP samples you've seen here. I'd love to see anything you do with it!

Now, for the BLOG CANDY! :D Enter by Friday, May 22, at midnight; tell me what your favorite sample you've looked at ON MY BLOG! is. And why is always good! :) Over the weekend, I'll use random.org to pick one of you to WIN! (I hope you'll keep coming back, anyway....:D)

OK! Now it's YOUR turn to talk! And then, PLEASE, go take the time to STAMP SOMETHING!!!!!!

Now, on with what you came here for - the SAMPLES! Unless it's something that needs more explanation, I'll just put the recipe down for you.

This is a little 3"x3" card. I stamped and embossed the Cameo Coral piece first, then punched out the 1-3/4" circle in it. It's THURSDAY!!!

Are you ready for the weekend?? Even more importantly: have you scheduled some time to hop on the blog tour?!??!?! It's gonna be AWESOME!!!!! You won't want to miss it - and we're going 48 hours this time, instead of just one day like last! You'll have time to visit EVERYONE. :)
Today, I want to show you a couple of things using stuff that we've seen before. :) First the most recent!

In case you missed the post earlier this week, just CLICK HERE to see what I did. For this candy jar, I took that Flower Blossom die, and our vinyl that we sell specifically to cut in the Big Shot, and cut out as many diecuts as I wanted! It's SUPER easy to apply them, and if you want to move something, they peel off easily - you just need to be gentle, so you can re-use it.

My family likes the fact I keep a candy jar by my computer. :D I decided I want to decorate it for the seasons - and what better way for this late spring/summer time than with flowers? :) If I desired, I could stamp the vinyl before I cut it out, or even AFTER. I could change this up so many different ways! I decided to keep to the white vinyl this time, since most candies are colored.... :D

And do you remember the tutorial I did in January, my very first video tutorial? CLICK HERE to go to that post - but be sure to come back! :D

I had lunch with a dear friend and her two little girls on Tuesday, and I threw these together for the girls.

Aren't they adorable? :D Have I REALLY said how much I love my BIG SHOT lately??? :D It makes gifts and awesome cards SO easy - die cuts rock! :D So do textures, and embossing, and and and! :D

Both stamps are from SOCK MONKEY. Creamy Caramel is what the Top Note is cut from; the medallions are Whisper White and Real Red, colored with Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, and Real Red Stampin' Write Markers. They're punched out with the 1-3/8" circle punch and mounted onto a scallop circle punch. The ribbon is our wonderful red gingham ribbon. There's a pack of mini M&Ms inside; you really need to watch the tutorial for any other information you could want! :)

OK, I'm off to start working on tomorrow's big post!!!!!! Have a WONDERFUL day - and take the time to STAMP something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Lots of things in the works, but not too much to be able to show you yet. :) Here's one we did for the workshops last weekend; I just LOVE the rabbit! :D

Card stocks: Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Whisper White
Inks: Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip Craft
Stamp Sets: Itty Bitty Backgrounds, Really Retro, Forest Friends
Accessories: Heat tool, embossing buddy, clear embossing powder, 1-1/4", 1-3/8", and circle scallop punches, dimensionals, mini envelopes
I would LOVE to see what you're stamping, especially with FOREST FRIENDS!! I mean, you ARE stampin', aren't you???? ;)

Wednesday, May 6, 2009

Yup, I'm REALLY late for Wednesday!

But it STILL counts - it's before midnight, my time!! :D

Today, I'm going to give you two REALLY basic, simple layouts that feature Designer Series Paper. To change the look and feel of the cards, change the colors and/or the DSP! Both of these cards are monochromatic, but it would be really easy to change it all around! :)

Card stocks: Pacific Point, Whisper White

Stamp set: Oval All

Ink: Pacific Point

Accessories: Pacific Point DSP, scallop oval punch, eyelet border punch

Do you see what I mean? You really can't get much easier than this!

Card stocks: Whisper White, Basic Gray, Basic Black

Ink: White craft

Stamp set: Close as a Memory

Accessories: Walk in the Park DSP, embossing buddy, heat tool, white embossing powder

Again, so simple but SO elegant. We used Basic Gray ink on the inside, and stamped the long verse from the stamp set inside, then off-stamped the flowers and stamped it lightly over the verse. It's very subtle, but not morbid!

OK. I'm off here for tonight! :D Mom's birthday and Mother's Day cards are done - her birthday is two days after Mother's Day this year - and I can't wait to show you what I made her! (Can't show you before Sunday, because she checks the blog out sometimes!:D)

I got more new toys today, too - and am planning some fun things with the one I've been waiting on. Don't forget that NEXT FRIDAY AND SATURDAY are the next blog tour!

Some people aren't sure that the blog tours are a good thing - "Why do you want to give your customers access to someone else? You're going to lose them!" But I totally disagree! The more I think about it, the more I realize that my stamping style is definitely not some of yours, or my regular customers'. But I trust that, when you see something you want to know more about, you'll ask me. I have faith that you know ME, and when you're excited about learning something new, I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

So. I'll be back sometime on Thursday (when I know what to post!:D), but I hope YOU will also take the time to STAMP SOMETHING before I am! :D Have a wonderful day!

This last technique is one that was shown to some demonstrators at a regional seminar, and they've shared it with a lot of us who didn't get to go! :)
