Welcome to Wednesday! :D And AUGUST! Happy Retirement to my dear friend, Mary, who has been my faithful stamping companion for the last three? four? years. She is going to be moving away from me soon, and I will miss her enormously - but I'm grateful for her friendship, and that she has a wonderful family to enjoy now. God bless you, Mary and Ev, as you start a NEW chapter in your lives. I love you!

Now, then, before I start bawling :D, meet today's project. He's a snowman made from Crystal Effects. Isn't he beautiful?! Doesn't he just make you smile? So super easy! You could make a BUNCH of these; they're even kid-friendly projects! If you make them, be sure to store them between layers of waxed paper so they don't stick to each other. :) And keep them as dry as possible while storing.

Again, HOW SIMPLE!! But I love this impressions die - so classy, so simple to use!

Do you remember the glittered card I posted - CLICK HERE to see the big picture of it - ?!? Everyone is just OOHING and AAAHING over it (although I do know someone who wouldn't want it in her house....:D) There is NOTHING simpler than using this die, and putting Crystal Effects into the depressions, and adding a little Dazzling Diamonds glitter. It's a knock-out!!!

Is it summer yet??

It's sure felt like SPRING around here lately!! Temperatures have been as high as the mid-70s!! I've enjoyed it a little, but it's FEBRUARY, people!!!!! :D I don't LIKE heat, and I'm a little wary of how hot it might get this year. ::::::::::::sigh::::::::::: ;)





Oh, well!!! On with the show, as they say. :D



Today's card is another from the WHAT IN THE WORLD IS CRYSTAL EFFECTS? class. It MIGHT show up better if you click on the picture; there's Crystal Effects all over the lime, to make it look juicy and real! :) I love the colors in this card; it's refreshing and simple, in my VERY humble opinion.... :D

Colors: YoYo Yellow, Only Orange, Whisper White, Green Galore

Stamp Sets: TART & TANGY, BOHO BACKGROUNDS

Accessories: Crystal Effects, Green Galore Stampin' Write marker, 1-1/4" square punch, 1-3/8" square punch, dimensionals.

Sorry I've been kind of MIA!

I've got a cold that's been kicking my butt - besides all the other fun things going on in my life right now. :D I'm BUSY - which isn't a BAD thing. :D

This card is from the "WHAT ON EARTH IS CRYSTAL EFFECTS" class we did last night. The icicles are, anyway. :D We did the icicles, which are SUPER-SIMPLE, and everyone took their icicles home to put on their cards today.

To make the icicles, we put wax paper down on our grid paper, so we had straight lines to work with. Using Crystal Effects, we pulled a straight line across the wax paper - you can do it as long as you wish, but I told the attendees that you want at least 4" for this project. Then, you just start putting in the hanging icicles wherever you want them. When you've got as many icicles as you wish, just sprinkle Dazzling Diamonds glitter on them - and let them BE for a while. I let mine dry overnight, to be safe - I have a horrible time of leaving fingerprints in my CE projects because I try to do something with them before they're dry. :D

Then we took Not Quite Navy card stock and stamped the tiny dots all over in VersaMark. We added Heat & Stick powder to that, and heated JUST until transparent. More glitter, then heated again to set the powder. (The inside is the "let it snow let it snow let it snow" stamp from PERFECT PRESENTATION, a level 2 hostess stamp set. WRONG!!! It's from GLAD TIDINGS!!!!) Then we put the house together: a rectangle of Very Vanilla, run through the crimper, is out house with siding. A triangle of kraft card stock is the roof. My card has some liquid applique on it as a snow line. You could also sponge some white craft ink on the roof and emboss with white embossing powder, and it would look like snow, too.
