Carol said, "
Congratulations, Lori! That's great. BTW, I loved reading your story on your blog about how you became a Stampin'Up Demo. Thanks, also, for all the inspiration and a chance to win."

Thank you, Carol, for reading - and for ALL of you for coming along on this ride. :)

Have a wonderful weekend! :)

Occasions Mini

Good morning! Goodness, creating something for you today has been difficult! :D I'm sure you don't want to see anything Christmas - although you haven't come CLOSE to seeing everything we created last year! :D And every time I tried to start a card, I'd think, "This is a great design for an upcoming class!"

SO! :D You're getting this mini treat: it's the new mini milk carton die from the Occasions Mini!

Isn't it cute?!?!? The way the photo's showing up on my screen, it's the EXACT size of the milk carton! :) I put 8 Hershey's Kisses in it, but you could do more. So, I guess, it's more of a milk CHOCOLATE carton! :D

The card stock is Melon Mambo, because I happened to have a sheet of it out. :D The DSP is also from the Occasions Mini, SENDING LOVE (item #117153). It's got glitter embossed on one side of each two-sided design! Glitter is SO hard to see on scans and pictures - it's FRUSTRATING! On this strip, it's on the top partial flowers, every other one. Can you see it? I LOVE this paper! And for those of you who don't like glitter (you KNOW who you are!:D), it doesn't come off, no matter how hard you rub your hand across it. There's some really fun, girlie paper here, moms!!!

The clip on top is to hold the box closed; I didn't seal it like a normal carton, because then you couldn't get the treats out! :) Those clips are from the Idea Book & Catalog, and are absolutely PERFECT for this use!!! (Overlooked them? They're on page 179!

OK, I'm off - I have a Hostess Club party tomorrow night, and I can't WAIT to show them what we're going to do - but I also have to clean up the studio, and put the new plastic covering on the table. :D I don't wanna! I want to PLAY - but playing sure makes messes.... :D

Have a wonderful day! Be sure to take the time to STAMP something!!!!! And don't forget to leave me a comment on yesterday's post to enter to win BLOG CANDY!!!

Twenty-five dollar winner announcement!

Good morning, everyone! Well, I have to say, EVERYONE had a great chance of winning - we didn't have a LOT of participation. BUT I loved reading each and every comment - thank you so much. :) Many of you figured out how to go back to my very first post on February 17, 2007, and find the date on my journaling on that first layout was January 30, 2007. WOW, almost three years with y'all. Has anyone been with me since the beginning? Please let me know if you have!

Now, then, on to what you all want to know. Who WON???? :D

Congratulations, Georgia! Please contact me when you're ready to place your order! :) You can call or email me, whichever. :) Thank you ALL for playing! (The announcement "banner" was created with MY DIGITAL STUDIO!)

Keep reading for more ideas, everyone. I'm so grateful for ALL of you - thank you for your encouragement to keep on keeping on! :D

Now, go stamp something, will ya? :D

What a GLORIOUS Friday Afternoon!

Can you believe this weather, those of you in Middle Tennessee???? WOW, it's so glorious out! And I'm stuck in my studio! LOL! I'm working on the Hostess Appreciation Luncheon invitations; it's going to be a wonderful luncheon - and it's not too late to have YOUR party, so YOU can be invited, too! :) Just call or email me, and let's get you scheduled!

LAST CALL to enter the blog candy giveaway! Scroll down to Monday's entry to find out how to enter several times; for a $25 gift certificate, it's definitely worth it! :D

Now, on to today's card. Since I OBVIOUSLY can't show you what I'm working on :D, I decided to take a break and do another challenge card. This challenge is from Gretchen Barron, who is an INCREDIBLY gifted and GIVING demonstrator. She's a real hero in my opinion, helping to start a relief group for demonstrators who have been devastated by catastrophe.

It was a sketch challenge, and I followed it pretty closely. :D

Card stocks: Real Red, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White

Ink: Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard, Creamy Caramel

Stamp sets: Defining Alpha, Pendant Park

Accessories: sponge, brayer, Big Shot - I LOVE MY BIG SHOT!!!!, Top Note die, craft knife, paper trimmer, bone folder, leaves #2 die

This was a fun break! Now, back to the invitations! :D

Have a WONDERFUL weekend! I hope you'll take the time to enjoy your friends and family, but take a little time to STAMP SOMETHING, too! :D

Blog Candy Week! :D

WOW. I've been blogging since - well, I'll let that be one of the ways you can get an entry. :D Let's just say it's been a LONG time. I've met a lot of great people along the way, and I count MANY of you as dear friends. Thank you for being along for the journey!

Since I turned over 10,000 hits on my blog last week - and that's since I restarted the counter earlier this year!!!! - I wanted to give you a chance to win some blog candy. To enter, you can do one or all of the following! :)
1. Leave me a comment!
2. Leave me a comment telling me the date of my FIRST POST. :D
3. Leave me a comment telling me the date of the journaling in that first post's scrapbook sample - click on the picture to get the larger file. :)
4. CASE (copy and steal everything) one of the samples on my blog, and post it and leave the link for me, or send me a scan at poohisstampin@aol.com. :)

The prize package will be a $25 gift certificate for Stampin' Up!, redeemable ONLY through me! :) Sorry, ladies, but I can only do this if you live in the States. Open to demos AND anyone else! :D

Now, for my sample! This is my FIRST page from playing with the new MY DIGITAL STUDIO, available OCTOBER 1!!!!! It's an AWESOME program, very intuitive and fun. You can use other things you upload, and there are templates or do-it-yourself pages. There are multimedia capabilities, and you can also do CARDS with it! It's REALLY rockin'. :)

Don't tell anyone, but I'm making a holiday book for my parents. :D The holidays are really special around here! (Some of you are saying, "DUH!!!":D)

It was FUN to do this page! :D I can't wait for an opportunity to show it off to you!

OK, I'm off. I will draw for the winner of the blog candy on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4!!!! I'm turning on comment moderation, so you have to do your own homework! :D Have FUN, and take the time to look around my blog some more while you're here. HOPEFULLY, you'll be inspired to STAMP SOMETHING!! :)

BLOG TOUR - DAY TWO!

CLICK HERE or scroll down for DAY THREE samples!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WELCOME to my blog! I've been so excited about showing you some wonderful creations I've made with my feature set, THE MORE THE MERRIER. It's a level three hostess-only stamp set, which means you can only EARN this stamp set by hosting a party that has over $500 in sales. Contact your demonstrator - or, if you don't have one, ME! :D - for details!!! (You can view this stamp set on page 17 of your 2009/10 Idea Book & Catalog!)

I HAVE BLOG CANDY TO GIVE AWAY AT THE END OF THIS TOUR! All you have to do is leave a comment - and you may enter each day, so up to THREE entries per person! Be SURE and leave your email address so I may contact you. I'd really like to know what you think of each day's entries! The winner will receive SWEET LITTLE SENTIMENTS, a retired hostess-only stamp set, valued at $12.95!

Now, on with the show! I'm going to show you three samples each day: one card, one 6x6 scrapbook page, and one 3D project - and I'll probably have a few more to throw in as we go! :D IF you don't see something one day that floats your boat, come back the next day! :D Who knows what you might find??

Also, there are a LOT of samples on my blog. Please bookmark me, so you can come back when you have more time, and look around to your heart's content. :) My goal with my blog is to show you projects that YOU can do at home, not that you'll look at and say, "HOLY SMOKES! That's GORGEOUS!!!", and then not even attempt. :D I want you to know you can do it, and - if you don't like a color combo or a certain accessory, CHANGE IT! - and then DO it. :D

Please note: You can see any of the pictures larger by just clicking on them!! SCROLL DOWN FOR YESTERDAY'S BLOG TOUR POST!

If you have ANY questions, PLEASE don't hesitate to ask me! My contact information is in the sidebar; I'd LOVE to hear from you!

Now, ON WITH THE SHOW!

The Card

Card stocks: Melon Mambo, Basic Black, Whisper White, Bermuda Bay

Ink: Jet Black Stazon, Melon Mambo, White craft

Stamp set: THE MORE THE MERRIER!, Boho Backgrounds, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Accessories: IN COLOR Stampin' Write Markers, dimensionals, modern label punch, 1" circle punch, 1-1/4" circle punch, 1-3/8" circle punch, 1-3/4" circle punch, word window punch, scallop edge punch, white gel pen (frosting! :D)

Fun, isn't it! :) Make several of these up at one time, and give a card and a cupcake to your co-workers for their birthdays! :D

The 6x6 Scrapbook Page

For some reason, this set certainly lends itself to Halloween layouts! :D I had a lot of fun designing this one.

Card stock: Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie TEXTURED

Ink: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Versamark

Stamp set: THE MORE THE MERRIER, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Accessories: 1-3/8" circle punch, 1-3/4" circle punch, modern label punch, dimensionals, embossing buddy, Chocolate Chip and Garden Green Stampin' Write Markers, heat tool, black embossing powder, watercolor brush and bleach.

This was SUPER fun to do; the bleached areas actually came out almost perfectly matching the Crushed Curry!

The 3D Project
I'm showing you the same IDEA in two different celebrations here. :) The one on the left is a great birthday bag; the smaller picture is a Halloween bag. :) They're super simple; just cut your card stock 1/4" wider than your bag. Cut it twice as tall as you want the ffront to be PLUS 1/2"! Fold it so the 1/2" is in the middle, and cut out a section for the handles to go through.

I'll put the ingredients for the Halloween bag, WHERE IT DIFFERS, in parentheses. :)

Card stock: Melon Mambo, Basic Black, Whisper White (Soft Suede, Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry)

Ink: Jet Black Stazon (Versamark)

Stamp set: THE MORE THE MERRIER, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Accessories: Dimensionals, Modern Label Punch, Assorted IN COLOR Stampin' Write Markers (Word Window Punch, embossing buddy, heat tool, black embossing powder)

Can't you see a LOT of potential for this bag cover?? Oh, and do you see my "mock brads"? :D I just colored little circles with a Bermuda Bay Stampin' Write Marker! Easy, and I think it adds my all-important TEXTURE! :D

OK!! I'm off to do even MORE wonderful samples to show you! :) I hope you enjoy yourself today on the tour - and then, please take the time to STAMP something!! :)

BLOG TOUR - DAY THREE!

OK, so it's not like the other two posts - but it's still the same stamp set - and you can STILL enter to win on this entry!! :)

Yes, that's right. Today's are ALL about the SNOWMEN! :D If you've been around for a while, or taken a look at my blog, you'll notice that Christmas is my absolutely favorite time of year. I love to design Christmas projects!! :D Today's scrapbook page may look a little plain to you, but I think you'll see that a picture will be absolutely PERFECT on it!

The Card

Card stock: Shimmery White, Bermuda Bay

Ink: Jet Black Stazon, Bermuda Bay

Stamp sets: THE MORE THE MERRIER!, Christmas Punch (Level 2 Hostess-only set!!!)

Accessories: modern label punch, word window punch, assorted Stampin' Write Markers, dimensionals

I just LOVE this card! The Bermuda Bay is such a wonderful SUMMER color - but it works just as well for a cheery winter card, too! (And I LOVE snowmen, and snowflakes - this card just ROCKS. Wish you could see the sparkle IRL!!)

So, what do YOU think?? :)

The 6x6 Scrapbook PageCard stock: Whisper White, Bashful Blue TEXTURED

Ink: Bashful Blue, White craft

Stamp sets: THE MORE THE MERRIER!, Simple Friendship

Accessories: Gel pen, assorted Stampin' Write Markers, embossing buddy, white embossing powder, heat tool

It's REALLY hard to see the swirls from SIMPLE FRIENDSHIP on the background, but they're there, I promise! :) To get the snowmen that kind of translucent white, I colored with a gel pen, then wiped it off with my finger. :D I wanted to outlines to show, but I didn't want all-Bashful Blue snowmen! :D Again, it may look a little plain, but once you put the friendship photo on it, it's going to be JUST enough.

The 3D Project

I LOVE this project - and my mom's commented on it a couple of times, which means it's made an impact! :D It's also possible to lay this flat, so you could store these - say, if you made them for centerpieces for a women's luncheon - or you could mail them as a gift!

Card stock: Bermuda Bay, vellum

Ink: Jet Black Stazon

Stamp set: THE MORE THE MERRIER!

Accessories: Assorted Stampin' Write Markers, 2-Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, paper trimmer!

This votive square is 4"x4". It's easy to MAKE, but the coloring and the glittering take a bit of time to dry. :) It is SUPER-sparkly IRL; it's definitely going to catch the light! It's also big enough that you could use a REAL tealight or votive candle in it without much chance of it going up in flames. :D

I hope you've enjoyed this blog tour as much as I have!!!! It's always fun to challenge yourself, like making ONE stamp set your focus! :) I also hope you'll keep coming back; it's a fun ride from now until Christmas, and you won't want to miss anything!

My class schedule for the rest of the year will be up soon, so if you're local, I hope you'll come to some classes! And if you WANT this stamp set, contact me or your local demonstrator to book a party NOW!!! Don't wait; get your party on the books! If I AM your demonstrator, hold your party (at my house, honest!:D) by the middle of October and be invited to my hostess appreciation luncheon!!!!!

Now, scroll back up or down to go to the next blog. :D Have a wonderful time on the tour - and don't forget to bookmark me! :D

Now, ON WITH THE SHOW!

The Card

Card stocks: Crushed Curry, Soft Suede, Dusty Durango (All new IN COLORs for 2009/10!)

Ink: Jet Black Stazon

Stamp set: THE MORE THE MERRIER!

Accessories: Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper (DSP), IN COLOR Stampin' Write Markers, dimensionals

Super-simple, right? But It's a really fun card, and not your traditional colors!

The 6x6 Scrapbook Page

This page was designed by my dear friend, Amy. Didn't she do a great job?? I never would have thought of these colors together!!

Card stock: Basic Black

Ink: Basic Black, Chocolate Chip

Stamp set: THE MORE THE MERRIER

Accessories: Razzleberry Lemonade DSP, sponge, paper snips, dimensional

AGAIN, super-simple, and REALLY original!

The 3D Project

This is a 2-4-6-8 box; take 1/2 of a sheet of card stock (so, it's 5-1/2"x8-1/2"). Score along the 5-1/2" side at 1". Turn and score the 8-1/2" side at 2", 4", 6", and 8". Using paper snips, snip UP from the bottom to the 1" line along the four score lines. Take the little corner where the 1/2" tab is off; fold, and stick everything together with Sticky Strip! (Clear as mud?? Maybe, if you tell me to, I'll have to do a video tutorial on this one!)

Card stock: Dusty Durango, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip

Ink: Dusty Durango and Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Markers

Stamp set: THE MORE THE MERRIER

Accessories: Dimensionals, 1-3/4" circle punch, 1-3/8" circle punch, 1-1/4"circle punch, 1" circle punch, paper snips

Wouldn't this be a fun place setting favor for your family's Thanksgiving feast? You could fill it with candy corn, too, but it's not out in our stores yet. :D

OK!! I'm off to do even MORE wonderful samples to show you! :) I hope you enjoy yourself today on the tour - and then, please take the time to STAMP something!! :)

Welcome back!! Did you have a good weekend?? Did you enjoy the blog tour?? I certainly hope so - I LOVE having people look at my blog, and I enjoyed going to all the links and seeing the great samples!

Today, as promised, I have another sample to show you with the SIMPLE FRIENDSHIP stamp set, and a clickable list of links to the photos of projects I've already showed. If you are a regular visitor, you'll probably get bored with the list of projects. :D But be sure to read along, anyway, and enter to win the SURPRISE BLOG CANDY!! By the way, you'll also want to be sure and visit here on JUNE 1 for my THIRD ANNUAL BIRTHDAY CARD CONTEST!!! I can't believe it's already been a year since the last. ;)

Anyway! Here we go!

This the MATCHBOOK DIE that is in the OCCASIONS MINI - you can click the link to the right to download it for yourself! I love this little box; it's the PERFECT size for four Hershey's nuggets, or a multitude of other things!

These use a mixture of RIDING HOOD RED, CANDY LANE, and BELLA ROSE Designer Series Paper. (Those are three of my faves from the current IB&C!) That glorious ribbon is the organza ribbon from the IB&C. It's very luxurious! The base of both boxes is Riding Hood Red card stock.

The saying on the label is from - what else?? :D - SIMPLE FRIENDSHIP. I really like the simplicity of these boxes! I let the DSP and the ribbon do all the decorating work, and used ONE stamp. :)

If you'd like to continue looking at previous projects I've shared, please click on the following links. It will ONLY take you to their photos; you'll have to browse the last month's entries to find out details. :)

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a great day yesterday was!! I found LOTS of new friends - or should I say, they found ME! :) I hope some of you will stick around - we have a lot of fun here. :D The winner of the "poll" of sorts was, hands-down, the small 3"x3" card! Everyone loved how simple but elegant it was with the embossing from the Texturz plates and the brushed silver card stock. I think one of the things that makes that one SO great is that you can throw them together SO quickly!!! :)

Edit: We've been requested to remove the links that took you around to the next blog, so I've done so - if you missed it, I'm sorry!!! We're going to be doing another tour on MAY 15; be sure and get on the bus again then - you won't want to miss it!!!!!!

I will announce the winner of the blog candy at the end of this post; she will have until 9:00 a.m. CENTRAL TIME tomorrow to get back to me! :)

First, a couple more samples that are EASY cards - and REAL wows, IMVHO. :D

Ink: White craft

Stamp set: Oval All

Accessories: Large oval punch, scallop oval punch, eyelet border punch, dimensionals, heat tool, embossing buddy, white embossing powder

I have to tell you again, I love my punches and my Big Shot - they make it SO easy to make a terrific card without having to ink up more than one or two stamps! :D

OK. Second one!

This one was a card we did last night for my SUMMER HOLIDAY QUICK CARD CLASS. Talk about super-simple!! I just love this card. :D

Now, ON WITH THE SHOW! We'll start with a simple card, and work our way up. I'll do basic recipes; things should be pretty self-explanatory, but if you have ANY questions, please don't hesitate to ask me!

Stamp sets: OVAL ALL, Boho Backgrounds

Card stocks: Whisper White, Basic Black, Brilliant Blue, Green Galore, Summer Sun, Real Red

Inks: Basic Black, Brilliant Blue, Green Galore, Summer Sun, Real Red

Accessories: Scallop oval punch, corner rounder, large oval punch, dimensionals

There are lots of potential color combos for this easy card! It reminds me of a circus. :D

The next card takes it a little further. To do the centers of the background flowers, I mixed some Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, and Certainly Celery re-inker. That's also the dots on the oval scallop punch! For the flower on the oval punch, I stamped it twice - once in Pixie Pink, the next in Pretty in Pink, and cut them out. I curled the edges with my fingernail, and sponged the edges a bit. Then, they're put on top of the oval punch with dimensionals, and I used a little bit of Crystal Effects on the edges of them and on a few little places in the rest of the stamp; I smeared some CE over the words, and poured Dazzling Diamonds glitter all over it. It's SOOOOOO sparkly!

Stamp sets: OVAL ALL, Simple Friendship

Card stocks: Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink

Inks: Pretty in Pink, Pixie Pink, Certain Celery

Accessories: Scallop oval punch, Crystal Effects, Certainly Celery re-inker, sponge, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Pretty in Pink grosgrain ribbon, large oval punch, ticket corner punch, dimensionals

This one is actually really simple! It's a 3"x3" card - great for putting on a gift! It uses one of my all-time favorite tools, the Big Shot! :)
Stamp set: OVAL ALL

Card stocks: Whisper White, brushed silver

Inks: Encore silver metallic

Accessories: Scallop oval punch, Big Shot, Stampin' Up!® exclusive Texturz Plates, large oval punch, silver embossing powder, embossing buddy, dimensionals, Mini square envelopes

This is the last sample for today - but come back tomorrow, and I'll show you at least two more! :) I've had a great time playing with this stamp set and punch - it's really versatile, and super simple to use!

ANYWAY. :) The rose and smaller flowers and leaves are cut from Bella Rose Designer Series Paper, and I cut the interior sections and stacked them with dimensionals. Again, I curled and inked the edges. I used a 2-Way Glue Pen to place the glitter exactly where I wanted it. :)

I am NOT a good ribbon-gatherer; this is the first time I've tried on a card, and anyone who comes to my classes KNOWS I'm not good with anything that needs to be STRAIGHT. :D But I really like it on this card!

It's THURSDAY!!!

What a beautiful day it is already here! I'm very sad to see most of the tulips gone, but the ROSES are about to begin. Can you believe it?!?!?

And MONDAY creeps closer and closer! The BLOG HOP is coming up SOON - and I believe I'm going to be offering more BLOG CANDY on Monday - and I think a lot of people along the way will be, too. It starts at 7 a.m., so figure out when you'll have some time to go hopping! Twenty stops, with lots to look at - I KNOW you're excited! :D

So, I promised that we'd do, today and tomorrow, BRANCH OUT samples! I had SO much fun designing for this class! I did one spring, one summer, one fall, one winter, and one kind of everyday. And that's the order I'm going to post them in. :) So, here we go!!

Here's a hint for this set: Keep the backing off the large piece of rubber you take the stamps from. You'll see why, especially in summer - it makes a great "stencil" of sorts. I used it on this one, too, to make sure the "flowers" on the tree didn't go all over the sky! The "flowers" are the snowflake stamp in the set!!! I LOVE coming up with an out-of-the-box idea all by myself. LOL!

The background is the Jumbo Stampin' Around Wheel, Watercolor Vine - we did it in Versamark, then embossed it with clear embossing powder.

Card stocks: Certainly Celery, Pixie Pink, Whisper White

Inks: Real Red, Certainly Celery, Pixie Pink, Basic Brown, Bashful Blue

Accessories: Stipple brushes, dimensionals

I just love this set. It's SO easy to come up with fun cards! :) And you can see the "stencil" effect on the tree much easier on this card; it's a stipple brush and Garden Green ink!

Card stocks: Very Vanilla, Only Orange, Bashful Blue, Basic Black

Inks: Garden Green, Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Only Orange

Accessories: Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, Stampin' Up! Exclusive Texturz Plates, Big Shot

Don't forget to come back tomorrow to see the last three designs! I hope you have a wonderful day - and that you take the time to STAMP SOMETHING!!!!!

Blog Candy Drawing POSTPONED!!!

OK, everyone, I'm going to be SUPER busy this weekend. SO, I'm going to give you until MIDNIGHT SUNDAY to enter the drawing. Just CLICK HERE TO ENTER!!!

Tuesday, April 14, 2009

Good Tuesday! :)

Hey! Have you forgotten about the BLOG CANDY?!?!??! You MUST leave a comment ON THIS POST in order to be entered!!!

This is just a card I threw together a month ago; it's SUPER easy, and if you didn't want to get your stamps and ink out, you wouldn't have to! Why? Why, because it's a BIG SHOT CARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

And I happen to think it's pretty cute. :D The "icing" is a Pretty in Pink scallop circle diecut, cut in half, and run through the Big Shot again with a Texturz plates - the exclusively Stampin' Up! ones, of course. :) The bottom is a piece of Whisper White I cut with flared sides, like a cupcake would be :D, and ran through my crimper. I DID sponge a LITTLE Going Gray onto the ridges, but it definitely would be fine without it. The saying is from A LITTLE BIRTHDAY GREETING.

SEE?!? Super easy, and just one of MANY things you can do with your Big Shot!!! :D Now, go enter the BLOG CANDY GIVEAWAY, and then go STAMP something!
