Hostess Stamp Camp, Take 2!

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Are you still full from yesterday? Are your festivities continuing today? Are you decorating for Christmas this weekend, or are you already done? :)

Today's ORIGINAL idea came from this blog; I say "original" like that because I had to figure out the measurements for myself. Hers is in metric, but the conversion of the numbers doesn't work out correctly. So, I did it. :D

I mean, isn't it ADORABLE?!?!? And you can do the note paper stamping either way, too. :)

OK, outta here quickly. SOOOO much to do still! I hope you're coming to the open house! :)

Have a wonderful weekend! Be sure to make the time to STAMP something!

Christmas Stamp Camp, Take 1

Tomorrow is THANKSGIVING. And I want you to know: I'm so thankful for you! :) Thank you for finding me, for sticking around even when I'm not here, and for the encouragement you give me. I definitely count YOU in my blessings!

So. This was one of the projects we did at the Christmas stamp camp last week; we did four total projects, and you'll get to see them. I'll give you websites, too. We had a wonderful time, and part of the true value in taking these classes is so I can help with working out directions, etc. Some of these aren't so easy to figure out.... :D

Here's the link to this one. It's a really cool, no-cutting bag. Seriously. NO CUTTING. It's pretty awesome. :D

OK, I'm outta here - baking for tomorrow AND the open house. I hope your Thanksgiving is time spent with family or friends, that you're warm, safe, and fed, and that you know you're loved beyond all measure by the One Who created you.

Yes, I've been AWOL again!

I got SERIOUSLY wiped out from being gone all weekend last week, then jumping into real life with both feet. I just couldn't get ahead of myself! I'm still behind - I made a to do list for today, and spent half my day doing things for other people! LOL! But that's LIFE, right??

So, I'm here tonight to show you a project from last week's Fall Stamp Camp. This is the fourth year we've done a framed shadow box with a Decor Element on it; this is the LARGEST, because that's the only size Stampin' Up! came out with it this year. It's LARGE - but I really love it!

The background? It's the brown paper that orders come packaged with! We treated it to some TLC, and I just LOVE the way it turned out!!! I love the scarecrow with the "happy heart"; it just SO fits to me. :D I love fall!!!

OK, I'm outta here. It's late, and I'm working on the late Twelve Weeks release, too. I've got to write it up, and decide on what this week is going to be: do I do only ELEVEN weeks, or do a simple one for this week??? :D Dilemma! :D

Have a WONDERFUL day, and be SURE to take the time to STAMP something!!!

Happy Wednesday!

Today has been my official "Lori in PJs" day, and it's been a good thing - except I got up at o-dark thirty for no apparent reason. LOL! But my studio, Mary, you wouldn't recognize it. Well, except that I've been playing with a project for the last class of the year.... :D

Today's share is from the Thanksgiving Stamp Camp; we did four awesome projects! So sorry you couldn't join us! :D

I really love it because it's ALL Stampin' Up! product!

Card stock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla

Ink: Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard, Always Artichoke

Stamp set: Autumn Splendor

Accessories: Sticky Strip, Early Espresso 5/8" satin ribbon

And that is ALL it took to make this. Amazing, huh. :D

OK, I'm off to do some more stuff - I've spent a lot of time cleaning out my email boxes. I have a LONG way to go.... :D Have a WONDERFUL day! And be SURE to take the time to STAMP something!!!!!

Monday, November 15, 2010

AUGH! Where DOES my time go?!?!?

I am losing it, somewhere between when I get up and when I go to bed.... :D So MUCH to show you, but I'm still designing for these last two classes of the year. Yup, we're down to that time, ladies and gentlemen. :D

Karie, and Karie's mom: I have NOT forgotten your request for the pumpkin, I PROMISE. I'm sorry it's taken me so long! I won't be home at all tomorrow, but I've declared Wednesday a "Lori, at home, in her PJs" day. :D I will post it then. :)

OK. Here's one of the projects from this year's THANKSGIVING STAMP CAMP. I ♥ this bag! I'm carrying it to church and Bible study! :DIt's amazing what you can do with the Big Shot, vinyl, and Decor Elements!

OK, I'm off. That's all you get - you have to come to classes to get to know how and what we did! :D

Have a WONDERFUL day! And don't forget to STAMP something - goodness knows I'm in it up to my elbows! :D

Easy Valentine's Gift!

So, Monday night was our Valentine's Stamp Camp - and this is one of the projects we did. It's SO cute IRL, and the Jelly Bellies were a hit! (Thanks, sweetheart!:D)

I love showing off the new product in the Occasions Mini - and a new way to use one of our Big Shot dies! (NOT an original idea, but I did figure out how to do it on my own! :D)

Card stock colors are Melon Mambo - which is a deeper pink than Pink Passion, but still a pink! - and Whisper White.

Expect to see a few more test tube projects for different holidays - they're fun to work with! :D

OK, I'm off - I still need to finish designing for this weekend! :) Have a wonderful day - and be SURE to take the time to STAMP SOMETHING!

Santa's Comin' to Town!

It's Wednesday! How's your week going? Are you enjoying what you're doing? I hope so, since you're currently reading my blog.... LOL!!

Today's share is from the Christmas Stamp Camp last month. We had a GREAT time, and this was THE hit!

He is shamelessly CASEd from Carrie's blog!! The moment I saw him on her blog, I KNEW we were going to do them for the stamp camp! I just LOVE him!

She gives you great instructions on her blog, so be sure to visit - and let her know how cute he is! :D

The ric-rac? You make it with your scallop edge punch. We used that for another project, too, so you'll be seeing it soon. :)

Have a WONDERFUL day - and take the time to STAMP something! Try one of these Santas! Don't have the matchbox die? I can help! :D Go here, and click on SHOP NOW; it's the matchbox die, exclusive to SU!

Fall Stamp Camp

Well, what do you know. :D I actually got back here today! It's a miracle!

DO NOT FORGET THAT THIS IS BLOG CANDY WEEK! Just scroll down to find out how you can enter. :D

Here are the projects we did last night. Expect to see that basket done in a few different forms - Barb C. and Mary N. and I were brainstorming last night, and darn it, I'm going to have to do some more of them. :D The Decor Elements are WONDERFUL for doing heirloom-quality shadow boxes with. I've got last year's AND this year's in the studio!

Remember, you can click on the photo to enlarge. The basket is the pillow box die that is making the rounds as a jack o' lantern right now, but we did an APPLE - and it's soooooooo cute IRL!

OK. Back to work. :D Now, YOU take the time to STAMP something - and show it to me! :D

CHRISTMAS IN JULY!

I was saddened that a lot of my Christmas lovers couldn't come to class on Saturday; we had a GREAT time! It was nice and COOL, too, so all the windows were open; we listened to Christmas music, sang along, and just enjoyed things. :D

I think you're going to like the projects, too; no SPECIFIC instructions, although I might make the basket for a video tutorial. I know I still owe y'all one on the purses, too. It's just DOING it, and finding the time when it's QUIET around here, has been difficult lately. :D

OK. On with the show! Don't forget! Sunday starts the next BLOG TOUR! Check out the side bar for details - and I WILL have blog candy!!!

Be SURE and check out this week's SUMMER FUN SPECIAL; it's a GREAT deal!!!!!

Card stock: Real Red, Whisper White

Ink: Real Red

Stamp Set: Level 2 hostess-only stamp set, CHRISTMAS PUNCH

Accessories: Merry Moments Designer Series Paper, wide oval punch, dimensionals, 5/8" Satin Ribbon

SUPER simple - but this paper is soooooooooo awesome. Continue to watch for it - I've got one more project today, and two cards to show you later. :)

Card stock: Real Red, Garden Green

Ink: White craft

Stamp set: Level 2 hostess-only stamp set, CHRISTMAS PUNCH

Accessories: Embossing buddy, white embossing powder, heat tool, scallop oval punch, dimensionals, Merry Moments DSP (See?!?! Isn't it FUN??), Big Shot - YES! I STILL LOVE MY BIG SHOT!!!! :D, box die (cut twice), sticky strip

This box is the perfect size to hold some trial-size hand creams, maybe some chocolate - you'll be surprised! :D It's double-sided, so it looks like a coke bottle carrier. If you REMEMBER those.... :D

Last project!!!!

Card stock: Sahara Sand, Real Red, Bermuda Bay, Very Vanilla, Garden Green, Kraft, Whisper White

Inks: White craft, Ruby Red, Night of Navy

Stamp set: Level 2 hostess-only stamp set, CHRISTMAS PUNCH

This was some work, but REALLY fun!

I hope you'll come to a class this fall - I'll let you know when the schedule is up on my official site! I've got LOTS of great projects planned!! :)

So. I hope I've inspired you to start on your Christmas projects - we're on the downhill side of the year now, and you know it will snowball until it's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year again. :D So, go on. Go stamp something - and mark one gift off your list! :)

Just so you know...

This is my mindset, whether I could put it into words or not before! :D

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

~ Winston Churchill

I hope you will pass it on! :) I love teaching; one of my favorite things to hear at my classes is, "That is SO pretty! And *I* did it!" :) That's what I want you to FEEL about my projects, my friend; there are lots of blogs out there that I see what they're posting and think, "That's BEAUTIFUL, but it would take me forever. And I'm not so sure it would turn out OK." I want you to find things on my blog that are easy to CASE (Copy And Steal Everything!), or that inspire you to make something else. It's all about being able to bless other people with what we create! :)

Speaking of which: I'm sorry I didn't think to share this one before Easter, but you can get a head start on next. :D This is made with a mini KitKat bar!

Isn't he CUTE?!?!? I can't share the technique we used to do the paper; it's from TECHNIQUE JUNKIES, called Faux Felt, and it's an awesome, EASY technique - tell Pat I sent you, if you join her! :) You could use designer paper, or regular card stock - if you use regular card stock, you'll need to roll it around your fingers a little, to make it less stiff.
Card stocks: So Saffron, Whisper White, Basic Black, Only Orange
Ink: So Saffron (sponged on eyelids), white gel pen
NO STAMPS!
Accessories: PAPER SNIPS (LOL!), sponge, 1/2" circle punch, wide oval punch, scallop circle punch, 3/4" square punch (retired), 1/4" circle punch
His feet are 1/2 of a scallop circle, trimmed so he has three toes - don't make his ankles too thick! :D His beak is a square; fold in half on a diagonal, then fold in the side points to keep his beak open. His wings are one wide oval punch, cut in half; his hair is 1/3 of a wide oval punch, cut down with scissors. His eyes are pretty self-explanatory! :)
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me! I'm going to post another post today about something exciting coming up, and I'll be working on a tutorial for the purses y'all have asked me for. :)
Have a WONDERFUL day!!! STAMP something, will ya? :D Make me feel like I'm doing my job! :D

Monday, April 6, 2009

Good Monday afternoon! :)

I don't know about where YOU are today, but it's rather chilly here in Tennessee! It hasn't stopped the flowers, though - although most of the tulips are huddled into their buds. :)

This is one of the projects from the Easter stamp camp last week; it's a super-simple basket! The colors are Mellow Moss, Apricot Appeal, and Always Artichoke; the centers of the flowers are designer series paper from the Level 1 Hostess Paper Pack. The butterfly is vellum card stock run through the Big Shot with a Texturz plate, then inked on the back with Apricot Appeal. Those flowers are cut with the Birds & Blooms dies, and the butterfly is the Beautiful Butterflies die. LOVE my Big Shot!!!! :) And YOU can, too - not only will purchasing the Big Shot and a few dies get you hostess benefits, but also qualify you for the extra freebie from Stampin' Up! this month! CLICK HERE to learn more!
OK, I'm off - I kind of have an easy week stamping-wise, so I'm doing NOTHING. LOL!!! Have a WONDERFUL day! BE BLESSED - and take the time to stamp something!!!!

NEW Box die!!

OK, everyone. I KNEW when I saw this in the book that I HAD to eventually have this die - we make so many party favors, etc., around here, that I just KNEW it would save us all time! Well! It's a WONDERFUL die; these are two we did the first four hours I had the die!!!!! One is a table favor we designed, a wonderful customer and I (HI, KATHY!! :D) for a baby shower she's having. We wanted to use a stamp set she already had; I already know she's going to change up the box a little, but I want to warn you that the scallop medallion on the pink set was in last year's Sale-A-Bration choices. (Want to know what's in this year's choices? Click on the top picture on the right!!!) Therefore, it's NOT available. They're ONLY available during SAB!!!!

Now, on with the show!!

This is the one I was talking about, that Kathy and I designed. Isn't it ADORABLE?!?!??!!? I wanted to make sure the stamping part was super-simple, since she's going to be making about 30 of these. :D Box card stock is Pretty in Pink. Bottom layer on the belly band is Regal Rose, and then Pink Pirouette that we put through the crimper. The scallop is stamped with Regal Rose on Pink Pirouette, then punched out with the scallop circle punch. SUPER simple, sweet, and will hold a good amount of M&Ms!! :D

This is the one I made that night for my dear friend, Cris. It was her birthday, and I gave her this filled with caramel-filled Dove hearts and a coupon for one of her favorite dishes I make when strawberry season is in! :D

The box is cut from Very Vanilla, and I rolled it with the So Swirly Jumbo Stampin' Around Wheel in Real Red. That's a stamp from CUTE & CURLY on the curly label punch, and the "with love" is from LOVE YOU MUCH, and punched with the small oval.

Trust me. This box is going to get SO MUCH USE - like I could USE my Big Shot any more than I do?!?!?!? :D And I want to hear what YOU are stamping these days!!?!?!??! (And let me know if you want your own box die, or need the Big Shot, too! :D)

Have a WONDERFUL day!

Edit: "Anonymous" left this comment:

What are the dimensions on the box? Can you take a side view picture, please? How much?

I can't of these two, I'm afraid; Kathy took her design home, and I gave the other one to my friend for her birthday last week. HOWEVER, I will have another one to show you MONDAY, so be sure to come back then. :)

DIMENSIONS for this box are: 3-3/4" LONG, 2" TALL, and 1-1/4" WIDE. This is Sizzix Box #2, item #114518. $34.95. Remember: if you order through my website, you'll also receive a FREE Idea Book & Catalog as long as the supply lasts!!!!

Home & Hearth

Good afternoon! Today's share is last night's class, HOME & HEARTH. Except for the vinyl snowflakes we diecut on the Big Shot, this is everything! :)

I really wish I could show this to you in person. It's really simple, but so striking! That's a Decor Element saying; we painted canvases with gold metallic paint, then CAREFULLY put each and every letter onto the canvas - it's not taught enough to just rub on like a wall would be! Next, we put chocolate taffeta ribbon all the way around it. Next, we cut enough to tie a bow in the center and drpe to the edges for the hanger; the ends of it are held to the canvas frame with upholstery tacks. Finally, we used Tombow Multi to put down the hay. I just LOVE using the Decor Elements for things like this - they're SO versatile!!!

Isn't this BEAUTIFUL???? It's made with the stamp set from the COUNTRY LIVING HOLDAY COLLECTION stamp set; this collection is a GREAT buy!!!! Email me to find out more - or go to MY WEBSITE, hit the SHOP NOW button, and click on SPECIALS!

ANYWAY. We used white Stazon ink to stamp the snowflakes on the blue vase - which I found at BIG LOTS for $2!!! The ribbon and cording around the neck are also from the HOLIDAY COLLECTION. The big snowflake, we stamped in white craft ink and embossed with white embossing powder, then punched out with the circle scallop punch. Simple, fast, EASY, and very inexpensive!

Both of these were made with the circle punches; the snowman uses the 1-3/4", 1-3/8", and the 1". The angel uses the 1-3/4" and the 1". Aren't they ADORABLE????

OK, that's it for today! I have classes to prep and a craft fair to get ready for!! :D Now, it's your turn! What are YOU stamping????? Don't forget! You can send people to MY WEBSITE to order Christmas gifts for you, or have them contact me - if you're local, I'll wrap them for your purchasers for FREE! Or, go to MY WEBSITE to purchase your gift-crafting supplies! It's easy and fast - just click SHOP NOW.

Happy Fall!

Good afternoon!! I decided it's time to show you things from the fall stamp camp - tonight is HOME AND HEARTH, things for Christmas. I went way over budget for the fall stamp camp, and it was a GREAT time. The above are vellum "tube" candle covers. We added color to the vellum with sponges, and cut the leaves with the Big Shot. Added natural hemp, and the candles are electric tealights.

We made these cute napkin rings completely out of card stock. The turkeys are made just with the scallop circle punch and free-handing the waddles and beaks. I just love them - they're so cute! :D Colors are kind of off - I forgot to change the white balance on my camera. The colors are Old Olive, Close to Cocoa, Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, and Ruby Red.

This was the ultimate piece for the night; it's a shadow box, 14x16. :) The leaves are from Hobby Lobby, but the saying is a Decor Element. I LOVE this piece! It's a great heirloom piece, to pass down to other family members - or you can gut the whole thing, peel off the Decor Element pieces, and use it for something else!

This is the card we made: pumpkin is cut with my Big Shot, stamped and inked; the Mellow Moss is rolled with the Fall Harvest standard Stampin' Around! wheel, and we used the moss gingham ribbon as an accent. Isn't it cute??.
OK, off to finish tomorrow's class pieces. :D Have a WONDERFUL evening - and be SURE to STAMP SOMETHING!!!!

Here's a close-up!

Happy Wednesday! :)
I thought I'd give you a close-up of the Z-fold card we did for the Mother's Day Stamp Camp last weekend.
The base card stock - and the scallop circle - is Real Red. The long part of the Z-fold itself is Certainly Celery. The middle of the circle is Soft Sky - and don't forget, the IN COLOR family group will be going away in August! STOCK UP WHILE YOU CAN!. The designer series paper is from SUMMER PICNIC, available now until the end of JUNE - thanks, Stampin' Up!!!!!! - in the Occasions Mini. The stamp is from a retired stamp set - I needed something that would fit in the circle! :D We stamped with Real Red CRAFT ink, and embossed with clear embossing powder. Super-simple, eye-catching, and fast!
OK, I'm off to start designing for NEXT week's classes! :) I hope you're having a WONDERFUL week - and taking the time to STAMP!!!!

Monday, April 28, 2008

Good Monday Morning!

How was your weekend? I hope you had a great one, with MORE TIME TO YOURSELF THAN I HAD! Goodness, my weekends are just CRAZY busy lately!!!!
ANYWAY. One of the things that kept me busy this weekend was our MOTHER'S DAY STAMP CAMP. If you missed it, you missed a LOT of fun! We stamped on fabric - check out the great tote bag!. We stamped on plastic - check out the coordinating water bottle! We made a post-it note holder - check out the cute flower folded thing! :D We stamped on terra cotta - check out my ADORABLE pot! And we made a great Mother's Day z-fold card. You know you can click on the pic to make it larger, right? :D
So. Yesterday was a workshop, and I can't WAIT to show you those projects - but I have another workshop on Saturday, and we're going to do the same ones! :)
So, LOTS of stampin' going on around here. How about you? Are YOU taking the time to STAMP something?? Whyever not?!?!? :D
Have a WONDERFUL day! I'd love to hear from you - y'all are AWFULLY quiet lately!!!

Trying again!

Here's hoping....

Oh, it WORKED! :D This is another card from my Advanced Techniques class earlier this month; isn't it pretty? It's another Technqiue Junkies technique, called Burnished Embossing.

Now, before I tell you what supplies we used, you might be asking yourself, "Why does she point us to Pat's site if she's teaching the techniques in a class I can attend? Or, if I sign up for the TJ newsletter, why would I want to take her class?" WELL, let me tell you. :) The answer to the first question is, I don't show a LOT of the techniques! If there's something that I haven't figured out how to substitute a Stampin' Up! product for, or it's simply too involved and messy for a class, I don't even consider showing it. The answer to the SECOND is, a lot of the techniques take some thinking to figure out! If I can show you how they work, then you're more likely to want to DO them - and use your supplies! Does that make sense??? :)

OK, now, back to the card above. The base card is Whisper White. The mat is Basic Black, and the color is the IN COLOR, Groovy Guava - remember that this color's GOING AWAY at the end of JUNE, so order NOW if you want it!!!!! The embossing powder is Black, and the flower is from BUD BASICS. The word is from CELEBRATE EVERYTHING.

Isn't it a PRETTY card?? Very easy, very STRIKING. If you're not receiving my newsletter, I just finished putting up all of my class schedule for the month of May - which is NATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING MONTH, to let you know in advance :) - on my Stampin' Up! site, http://poohisstampin.stampinup.net. I'd love to have you come to a class!!!

OK, off to finish organizing for tomorrow morning's MOTHER'S DAY STAMP CAMP! I hope YOU are taking the time to STAMP something!!! :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

How ARE you???? What are you stamping these days???? This is what I stamped with the MOPS group on Monday. It was their Valentine's party, so we did Valentine's stuff. :)

The milk carton is a pattern that Stampin' Up! demonstrators can get from SU!, on their demo-only side of the website. We stamped it with the level 3 hostess stamp set, TIME WELL SPENT, and did the tag with TAGGER'S DOZEN. Inside, we put homemade baby-powder-scented bath salts.

The M&M bag was really easy. Used the So Swirly jumbo wheel and ticket corner punch.

The Valentine's card? The designer paper is from the Berry Bliss collection; the "love" is from WONDERFUL WORDS. The "love" parts are made using the corner rounder.

Simple, fun, gave us lots of time for talking and laughing, and I think everyone had a good time. :)

Now, then. As of this writing, we're only 10 hits away from 10,000!!!! HURRAY! That will mean another blog candy announcement on Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Be on the lookout!

Now, I know it's Valentine's Day - but go stamp a card for your loved one, or someone who might not receive a card! Take the time to stamp something!! :) Happy Valentine's Day!

Monday, February 11, 2008

I'm in a hurry, so here's a quick card! :)

Hi! WOW, where does the time go?!?!?! I have a big class here tonight, so I'm finishing the prep for it - they're mostly new stampers, so it should be fun, but labor-intensive, too. :)
ANYWAY. This is one of the cards we did for February SAB hostess parties this month; is a super-dooper easy card, masculine enough to give to your husband - but with a TINY touch of pink, to stick with that Valentine's Day feel. The background is one of the stamps from A BEAUTIFUL THING stamp set; the "love" is from WONDERFUL WORDS. The designer paper is Berry Bliss - which I SOOOO love!!!! Colors for card stock are Very Vanilla and Pretty in Pink, and the inks are Creamy Caramel and Chocolate Chip.
OK, I'm off to finish prepping - but keep watching. Sooner or later, I WILL get to shoot that tutorial for you! :) Also, be on the lookout for the samples from tonight's class/stamp camp, and I'll be giving you a sneak peek at a couple of new things from the next mini catalog!!!!
Sale-A-bration's already 12 days in, everyone! Have YOU placed your order, or scheduled your party - or, better yet, signed up to be a demo! - to get your extra freebies?? Email me to find out more!!!!
