MDS MONDAY - Why I Go

Welcome to Monday!!! Did you have a good weekend???

Some of you know that I'm going to be heading to Oregon again in a month, for about a month. My stepdaughter is getting married, and we're going to take the opportunity to take a little time on the beach. :) It's where I love to be, and so does Kenn.

These photos are from our trip in 2012; this is in Yachats, at our favorite beach, Smelt Sands. I so cannot wait to get to my ocean again!!!!!!! :)

I'm going to be planning another book for this trip. It's going to be difficult, because I don't know if my laptop is going to be able to travel or not. It's not doing too well. :/ But we'll see what happens! :)

I just LOVE MDS. I sincerely wish you would play with it! I think you'd love it!! :D

OK, I'm outta here. Have a wonderful day - be sure to make the time to STAMP something!!

MDS Monday - Ice Storm

Welcome to Monday! Did you have a good weekend??? Schools are still closed in much of middle Tennessee because of hazardous roads in back areas and treacherous sidewalks and ground at many of the schools.  It's still cold here, so there's not a lot of natural help for de-icing! :)

I took all these pictures a week ago. It was simply beautiful, breathtaking, and dangerous. I'm so grateful to have warmth, shelter, food, and many, many things to do without going stir-crazy. :D

This was SUCH a simple page! It took me all of 10 minutes to put together, and that was mostly trying to get the lettering for my title the way I wanted it. :D I still think you need to download MY DIGITAL STUDIO for your free trial!!!! What's stopping you?!??!

OK, I'm outta here! :) Have a wonderful day - and make the time to stamp SOMEthing!

A Touch of Spring

Happy Weekend! :)

I don't know about you, but it's been icy/snowy and definitely WINTER here this week. I'm not complaining - it's February, and it's SUPPOSED to be winter! :) But I was ready for a little sunshine.

So, I started this card out, thinking I was going to do a white on white. But it didn't want to work that way. :)

That's the Spring Flowers texturz embossing folder (page 19 in the Occasions Mini), sponge on the raised parts and the edges with Daffodil Delight. The "thanks" is also from the Occasions Mini, the Hello You thinlits dies on page 31. The inside is stamped on a piece of Daffodil Delight, so there's lots of sunshine with this card! :)

It's pretty quick and easy. :) And bright and cheerful! :)

OK, I'm outta here! Stay safe, warm, and dry this weekend! Take some time to stamp something!

MDS Monday - Valentine's Day 2015

Happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend? Now about your weather? We're getting wintry mix here - it's cold enough to be snow, but up where the clouds are, it's warm. So we're getting ice. I'm so not going anywhere today! :D

We're not big on Valentine's around here. I've NEVER liked the day, and it's never really all it's cracked up to be. :) The best one I ever had, as a matter of fact, was in college when three friends came over and made me dinner. :D

ANYWAY. Kenn brought me home chocolate-covered strawberries - one of my faves, and these are pretty low-carb because it was thin dark chocolate, mostly! :) - and some roses from Kroger. There were four colors of roses, but this is my favorite picture that would fit in an oval. :D  Super simple page, Melon Mambo and Whisper White, one stamp, one "punch", and voila! It's done. :)

OK, I'm outta here! Maybe I'll take some time to create something today. Or maybe I'll take a nap... :D

Have a wonderful day! If you're stuck at home, maybe you should take the time to download your trial version of MY DIGITAL STUDIO here and play with it for thirty days! It's SO much fun!

Card Sketch Interpretation!

Welcome to Wednesday! I'm sorry I'm having such a difficult time getting back in the swing of blogging; I just don't want to focus on anything, seems like. Part if it may be that Kenn's leaving for Oregon in just over a month, and I'll be leaving in just over two months; making plans, feeling like I'm in limbo - YOU know. :D

ANYWAY. Today, I wanted to show you this card; I found a card sketch I didn't want to change too awfully much, and picked out my colors. They're Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, and Melon Mambo embossing powder. :) The butterfly is from the Occasions Mini's butterfly thinlets dies. The stamps are from my FREE Sale-A-Bration set, SIMPLY WONDERFUL. The little flower is just perfect for this pretty card! The vellum isn't textured, but I did tear the bottom edge, just to give a little more texture. :)

OK, I'm outta here! Have a wonderful evening, and be sure to make the time to STAMP SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!

MDS Monday - MOM & DAD

Happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend? I did. :) I'm feeling better, and it's COLD here today. Brrr! If you're in the storm hitting the East Coast this week, please be safe, stay as warm as possible, and try to enjoy any time you have snowed in. (It doesn't happen here in Tennessee, but I grew up in Indiana! :D )

Today's page is all about my parents. I really love the way it turned out! To get the texture on the piece of Mossy Meadow, I chose a swirly stamp, and colored it the same color. I positioned it where I wanted, and gave it a little drop shadow. The strip of Night of Navy also has some drop shadow applied. It's a clean page - and yellow is my mom's favorite color. :D

OK, I'm outta here! Have a wonderful day! Be sure and make the time to stamp something!!

Treat Holder

Happy Friday! Sorry the picture's kind of grainy; I took these late at night, so there wasn't much ambient light. :D

So, I designed this little fold-over to stand alone; it could serve as a table favor, or as a desk gift - I made it for Valentine's Day, but obviously it could be used for anything you wished.

Ours held Russel Stover Valentine's hearts, so were designed specifically for them. I LOVE the new Bow Punch in the Occasions mini - found on page 13. Just click here to see the Occasions mini in a PDF file!

OK, I'm outta here!!! Have a WONDERFUL weekend! And be SURE to take the time to STAMP something! :)

Chalkboard Cards

Happy Friday! :)

Today I have these chalkboard and paper clay cards to share with you. :) If you haven't already seen the Occasions Mini, I do apologize - it's a glitch in the system, and I'm working to get them out to some of you! Anyway. You can go here - Occasions Mini 2015 - and drool over it in PDF form. :D The chalkboard paper can be seen on page 24.

The other item from the Occasions Mini that we used is on page 32, the Alphanumeric Mold for paper clay (which is in the Idea Book already, but you can find the reference and order info on page 32 in the Occasions mini, too!). I did letters and hearts for everyone, so they could be completely dried to adhere; we all experimented with putting the clay into the mold. It's REALLY awesome, and very lightweight!

I used my chalk marker (IBC) to do the lines around the paper, and to write the messages on my chalkboards; we used Whisper White craft ink to smear onto the boards. I think they're just FUN. :)

Still have openings in our hostess club! Even if you can't do EVERY meeting, we'd love to have you join us - we're a fun group! :D

OK, I'm outta here! Have a wonderful day, and be SURE to stamp something!

Butterfly Framelit from 2015 Occasions Mini!

Happy Wednesday - yes, it's night, but it's still Wednesday. :)

Happy Birthday, Donna! :)

This is one of our projects from last night's Hostess Club get-together; if you're interested in being a hostess, please contact me NOW!!!! We used the largest butterfly in the new selection in the Occasions Mini; isn't he gorgeous?

The blocks on the background are the clear block A, inked in Wild Wasabi. The saying is from one of the free sets - LOTUS BLOSSOM - in the Sale-A-Bration Mini. :) The colors are So Saffron, Tangerine Tango, and Wild Wasabi - as well as Whisper White, but I suspect you knew that. :) The words of the stamp are heat embossed with Tangerine Tango embossing powder.

We loved this card! It's quick, and spring-ish, and easy!

OK, I'm outta here! Have a wonderful day - and be sure to stamp SOMEthing! :)

MDS Monday - Just Us!

GOOD MONDAY MORNING!!! Phew, I don't know about you, but the last six weeks have been JAM-PACKED! Did you have a good Christmas? Did you enjoy ringing in the new year? Are you a TINY bit glad that things are starting to get back to normal? :D

Today's share is just a little reminder of how nice our Christmas celebration was. Of course it involved food and gifts, too, but the older I get, the more it's about the people I'm with. :)

And TODAY MARKS THE START OF SALE-A-BRATION and the OCCASIONS MINI!!!!!!!! There are SO many fun things in the new mini, and the freebies for SAB are wonderful again this year. I'm probably more excited about this Occasions Mini than I've been in a LONG time. If you want to host a party, PLEASE contact me! We can even do online parties now, and I'll be GLAD to help you earn as many freebies as possible! It's also a great time to become a demonstrator; if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me!!

OK, I'm outta here! I'm working on things to show you, so thank you for your patience with me. :) Have a WONDERFUL day, and be sure to stamp or scrap SOMETHING!!!!

Second Project from Tuesday night!

It's FRIDAY!!!! Have you had a great week?? :) Today marks the SIX WEEKS mark until Christmas Day, people! :D It's time to start thinking of Christmas cards - and I really love this one.

This is the Gentle Peace photopolymer stamp set. Yes, I've pretty much sworn not to purchase these - but it's the best nativity set we've got this year! :) You can see it at this link. So, I embossed it with white embossing powder, then cut out a mask and covered it.

Next, we used plastic wrap and put both Perfect Plum and Whisper White ink onto the surrounding card stock, to give it that unique texture. That's IT. So simple, but I really love it - and it would work in almost any color you wanted to use!

OK, I'm outta here - the next ten days are crazier than usual for me! :D Have a WONDERFUL weekend, and be sure to make the time to stamp SOMEthing!

Hostess Club's First Project

Welcome to Wednesday! Last night was our Hostess Club get-together, and we had a great time. :) This is one of our projects; I love all the texture I was able to get in this simple card! :)

The colors are Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler, and Whisper White. The "thankful for you" is from the free set I got in October for hosting a party over $300. I LOVE free! :D

Think of the different color combinations you could come up with - for all seasons! I really think this works for fall, and since we used stamps that say "thankful" on the outside and "grateful" on the inside, it's a Thanksgiving card! :)

OK, I'm outta here! SO much to do, so little time to do it in!!! :) Have a wonderful day - and make sure to make the time to stamp something!!!

MDS Monday - Kenn in Indiana

Welcome to another Monday! :) Did you have a good weekend? Mine was exhausting, but here we go into another week! :D

Today's MY DIGITAL STUDIO share is this quick and oh!-so-easy scrapbook page I made of some of the photos I took of Kenn last month on our trip. Quick color and stamp selection, deciding how to do my title, and voila! It's done! :D

If you haven't tried MDS yet, what's stopping you? It's a free download to try, and you can make WONDERFUL gifts with it!

OK, I'm outta here. :) Have a wonderful day! Be sure and make the time to stamp SOMEthing! :)

Crossover: Hostess Appreciation Luncheon part TWO

Happy Friday! I hope you've had a good week, and that you're enjoying seeing what we do at my Hostess Appreciation Luncheon. :) Today, I'll show you the two projects we did.

First up, the GRINCH!

Isn't he adorable?!?!? I found a whole bunch of Top Note bags on Splitcoast Stampers, and adapted the Grinch one to suit me. :) I even used MY DIGITAL STUDIO to make the background paper; those are the words to "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch"! :)

There are a lot of different things you can do with the Top Note Die. We'll never do a bag quite like this in a class, people; that's one of the perks of being a hostess and getting an invitation to the Luncheon. We will ONLY do these projects at the luncheon!!!

The second one we did was also one I saw a photo of, and took my twist on: meet the snowman hamburger box!

Isn't he cute? My mom loved this one. :) He's got such a sweet face!

I really hope you've enjoyed a little insight into what we do at the Hostess Appreciation Luncheon. Don't forget: you can earn an invitation to the next one just by hosting a qualifying party! (We can even do it online!) You can even have your OWN party - it's simply $150 in merchandise. Contact me now, so we can get it on the calendar! If you want to see the side dishes we had at the luncheon, just go to Life's Little Pleasures and look for today's post! :)

Have a wonderful weekend! Be sure and take the time to stamp SOMETHING!!!

Crossover: Hostess Appreciation Luncheon part ONE

Welcome to Wednesday! :) Today and Friday, I'll be sharing some photos from our Hostess Appreciation Luncheon last month; the only way of getting an invitation is to host a qualifying party, which isn't hard - and is easiest to do at my studio, so you don't even have to clean your house if we have it here! :D

Today, I'm showing you the table setting, the invitation, and the table favor. No directions, not a lot of to-do. :) I'd LOVE for you to have a party, so you can come to next year's!

First up: what each place setting looked like.

Pretty, right?!?!? :) I love fall - the colors are SO rich.

Next, the invitation!

Again, rich color, intriguing centerpiece. :D

And finally, each person received one of these table favors; the bag is filled with this snack mix....

These were just FUN. :)

If you'd like to see some of the food we had for our Luncheon, please visit Life's Little Pleasures and look for today's post! :)

Again, contact me if you'd like to be eligible to come to the next Luncheon! Have a wonderful day, and be sure to take the time to stamp SOMEthing!

MDS Monday - Traveling in the Midwest

Happy Monday! It's NOVEMBER, people!!! Are you working on your Christmas cards? Gifts? Scrapbooks so you can drop in your photos? Me, either. It's time to go full tilt for the open house! :D

In the meantime, MY DIGITAL STUDIO continues to make my life easier. :) I really like this page; it didn't take me too long at all, once I decided what theme I wanted. I enjoyed this trip, very much - but it was difficult to capture the amazing splendor of God's artwork!!! There was so much I just had to soak in... :)

We had a wonderful trip, and came back to jump right back in again with both feet. :D

OK, I'm outta here, people. :D Have a WONDERFUL day, and be sure to MAKE the time to stamp SOMETHING!

Fun With Punches, Take Two - Merry & Bright

It's FRIDAY!! I'm HOME! I bet you didn't even miss me... :D

So today's card is a little hard to tell the colors - I couldn't get them to "read" quite right. It's Smoky Slate and Night of Navy. That's gold spritz on the background; the stars are punched out of gold foil "paper" and popped with dimensionals. "Merry & bright" is embossed with silver embossing powder, to give it a nice change of pace.

I think it's a simple, kind of elegant card - my mom "ooooh"ed when she saw it. :D It was fun to make, too. :)

OK, that wraps up another week here at Lori's Stamping Spot! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Stamp away! :D

Fun With Punches - I Love You!

Welcome to Wednesday! Are you having a good week? I'm still gone. :D I love fall, and I LOVE getting away!!!

The rest of the week, I'm going to post projects that I've used punches on, AND this set, GOOD GREETINGS. It's available until the END OF OCTOBER when you host a $300 party - it's an EXTRA HOSTESS EXCLUSIVE BENEFIT! :) It's a lot of fun - I really like the cute font, and the sayings are all different, kind of like TEENY TINY WISHES, but bigger. :)

For this one, I used Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, and Melon Mambo, 1" scallop circle punch and modern label punch, and Versamark and Tangerine Tango embossing powder. Don't forget the dimensionals! :D I think it's a fun, cute card, bright and eye-catching, and easy to switch colors on and still have it be fun!

OK, I'm gone. :D Have a wonderful day - and be sure to make the time to STAMP something!

MDS Monday - Celebrating Kenn

Happy Monday! Did you enjoy your weekend? Kenn and I are off on a little break; we'll be back at the end of the week. :)

ANYWAY. I wanted to share this project with you; Kenn's birthday was last week, and we had a get-together with friends who could join us that night. It was a small-ish crowd, but we had a good time, and Kenn's always blessed by being loved on. :D

I know the bottom bows are a LITTLE girlie, but I liked the texture the burlap gave it. :D

OK, I'm outta here! Have a wonderful day! Go try MY DIGITAL STUDIO, will ya?!?! It's a BLAST!

Christmas Tree Gift Tag

Happy Friday!!!! I hope you've had a wonderful week, and have big plans for the weekend! We do - we leave tomorrow to spend a few days in Indiana! Rest, relaxation, harvest time, and being away from the computer for a while. I can't WAIT! :D

This is a bit difficult to see, but this tag is made on our Silver foil paper. We stamped the tree in Always Artichoke, then embossed with clear embossing powder.  Because the Blendabilities are alcohol-based, we can color accessories and it won't rub off! So we colored pearls to use as ornaments. :) We put on a tree skirt with one, too. :D That's the main Cherry Cobbler marker, in case anyone was wondering.

Don't you love that tag punch? That's the Scalloped Punch Tag Topper. It made it SO easy!

OK, y'all, I'm OUTTA here. :D I hope you have a WONDERFUL day, and even better weekend. :D Make sure to take the time to stamp SOMEthing!
