Fourth Project from Christmas In July Stamp Camp!

This was a BIG hit! So many of us love the CITY OF DAVID stamp set - and here's a great way to use it to share with other people! This will make a wonderful hostess gift, or basket addition - although it's a large candle, and could make a wonderful gift by itself!

We stamped with Basic Gray (Have I told you I LOVE this new Neutral color?!?!?), then colored in with Stampin' Pastels. Oh, yeah. Do it on tissue paper. :) Then, I HIGHLY recommend TEARING the image out of the tissue, and use your heat gun to melt it into the wax.

We stamped the saying on the back in Night Of Navy, and did the same thing. These gusset cello bags are ones we USED to sell - I've written to Stampin' Up! to ask them to carry them again, but I'm not holding my breath. ANYWAY. The tag is part of the Level 2 hostess set PERFECT PRESENTATION - I really do like that set!!! :) (If you'd like to host a party and earn it, let me know!!!!!!) We stamped it with Ruby Red on Very Vanilla card stock, punched it out with the small tag punch, then matted it on Ruby Red card stock punched out with the regular tag punch. Tied it on with natural hemp, and voila!
I hope you know you can click on the photos and get bigger ones to open. It's hard to see some of the small images, I know! :)
If you have ANY questions, please don't hesitate to contact me! That's what I'm here for! :D
Enjoy your Tuesday - and make some time to STAMP something!!!!!

I've been TAGGED!!!

Rachel tagged me! Here are the rules, from her site:

2) Tag 5 people you know to do the same thing (Tag means tag them to send their own cards to their own people).

3) Proudly display this on your blog to spread a little sunshine and pass it on.If you get tagged again (we can all hope, can't we), send another card! (WORKING ON THE LINK/PIC!!!!)

SO! :) Now, I have to tag five people! Here's my choices:

1. Elizabeth
2. Leigh
3. Michelle
4. Sarah
5. Jan

These ladies all have INCREDIBLE websites! Go check them out!!!!

Another Christmas In July Stamp Camp Project :)

Isn't he CUTE?? ) This is from a template a friend sent me several years ago; we did him as a project at my first Christmas stamp camp here in the Nashville area almost three years ago, but Thursday's group was all new since then, so I decided to do him again. We used new stamps, of course, to embellish - but nothing else has changed. :) You can find a .jpg of the template at http://members.tripod.com/pooh0612/Santa_pattern.jpg; if you print the picture, it will give you the thing at about 80%. Try enlarging it until it fills your paper; the red piece ends up being just about 9 inches long. If you have questions, just email me. :) I'm going to do some of these for a craft fair, too, and some for Christmas gifts. They're just too fun for words!! :) Card stock is Real Red, Whisper White, Basic Black ("belt" buckle), and Blush Blossom. The eyes are black eyelets, set with the Crop-A-Dile - LOVING this tool!!. The nose is simply a 1/4" circle punched out. The belt itself is Basic Black grosgrain ribbon. The hat and "belt buckle" stamps are from the Level 2 hostess set PERFECT PRESENTATION - I just HAD to have it. :) I love Christmas! The bottom and the back seam are sealed with Sticky Strip.
Is anyone else at that point today where you're given ALL you've got, and if ONE MORE PERSON asks you for ONE MORE THING, you're gonna scream?!?!?!? :D I think I need a nap - so off I go. OH, I've changed the comments section now so that you don't have to be a Google member to leave me a comment - didn't realize I'd left that on, so I'm sorry. PLEASE do go leave me a message now! :D
Take some time to STAMP SOMETHING TODAY!!! And share with ME! :)

Here's another project from the Christmas In July Stamp Camp!

OK, so I now know I have to have this stamp set. I borrowed it from my downline and dear friend - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MELISSA!!!!!! - and now plan to purchase it next month. :) I'm going to do sets of these to sell at a craft fair in October, so I need to get going NOW - I'm such a bad procrastinator. :)
So, they're stamped with black Staz-on, then baked for 20 minutes and cooled. We colored them with Stampin' Pastels and blender pens, then lightly coated them with Krylon Fixatif. Last thing to do: put felt "feet" on the bottom, so they won't scratch anything up! EASY!!!!!!
Let me know if you do any, and what set you use. :)

I can't show you EVERYTHING yet....

Well, I can't! Two of the girls couldn't come last night - one was not feeling well, and another had a disaster at home - so they MAY be coming tomorrow night to do projects. SO, I can't spoil their surprise. :) I WILL share this card, however, which is one of the five projects we did. I used Bashful Blue card stock for the base, and stamped it with the big snowflake from FROSTY in Bashful Blue ink. Next, I stamped the snowman from the level 2 hostess set PERFECT PRESENTATION with Brocade Blue ink on Whisper White card stock. Using my double slot punch, I punched two holes in the card stock - and then widened those holes using the same punch. Using our new 5/8" grosgrain ribbon in Brocade Blue (LOVE LOVE LOVE our ribbon!!!), I made a loopless bow and dovetailed the ends of the ribbon. Next, using my Brocade Blue Stampin' Write Marker, I colored in the "let it snow" from GLAD TIDINGS, and stamped it underneath the ribbon. I punched holes for my retired vintage brads with the 1/16" hole punch, and then fastened the Whisper White card stock to a piece of Brocade Blue with Dimensionals. That piece then went on the card front with Dimensionals, also. Finally, I stamped the long "Merry Christmas" from GLAD TIDINGS on the inside bottom with Brocade Blue ink. DONE! :)
So, what do you think of it?
I'm starting to send out/give out the challenge envelopes! If you're interested, just email me your snail mail address at poohisstampin@aol.com, and tell me if you want a LITTLE or a LOT envelope! :)
I've got to go plan for a workshop tomorrow now. :) Have a WONDERFUL day, and take some time to stamp!

OK, you caught me. :)

I've been INCREDIBLY busy, and I'm so sorry for not posting before this!!!!! Life got spinning too fast. PHEW!
We had a nice visit with my sister and brother-in-law for my Dad's birthday. They were here from last Thursday evening to yesterday morning. THEN we had to deal with the surplus of cucumbers!
That's right! We made yet another FIVE batches of bread & butter pickles yesterday, plus prepped FOUR batches of rhubarb strawberry jam - which I'm working on putting up right now - and 1.5 batches of watermelon pickles, which I'll be doing with Mom this afternoon. PLUS, I have a Christmas In July Stamp Camp tonight; the projects are AWESOME, and I can't wait to share with you. TOMORROW. :D In the meantime, I've got a batch of jam to go stir....

What fun we had last night!

Last night's 10/10/10 was a fun class. We were full to the top, for sure! This is one of the five designs we did, and far-and-away the most time-consuming one we've EVER done at a 10/10/10. :) The wheel is a new Stampin' Around jumbo wheel, NEIGHBORHOOD - and everyone had fun with it. :) We rolled it in black, then used blender pens and Stampin' Pastels to color. "HOME!" is in Headline Alphabet letters in Brilliant Blue ink; "A NEW" is from a stamp that says "Happy New Year" from HOLIDAYS & WISHES, a new stamp set in the Idea Book this fall. We colored the word &/or letter with a Brilliant Blue marker, and MOST of us used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to place the "A" where we wanted to put it. It's a cute card!

Next Thursday is my CHRISTMAS IN JULY stamp camp. Tonight's the deadline for signing up for it; we're going to do several gift things, including a candle and a set of coasters, a card or two, and a packaging idea. I have to tell you, I'm looking forward to getting closer to Christmas; the Holiday Mini Catalog is SOOOOOOOOOO awesome!!! I cannot WAIT to share things I create with you!!! :)

That's it for today; my sister and brother-in-law are in town from Texas, so I'm wiped out. :D Dad's birthday is Sunday, so I'll TRY to post between now and then - but don't be surprised if I'm not around. Email me for your challenge envelope - and take time to stamp something today!!!!!

To rephrase the challenge....

My best friend told me she couldn't understand what the challenge was, so I guess I'll try and rephrase it, see if it clarifies a little more. :)

1. Email me at poohisstampin@aol.com, and tell me if you choose a LITTLE envelope, or a LOT envelope.

2. I will send you an envelope with miscellaneous images, backgrounds, paper, etc., that are all suitable for making cards with.

3. If you receive a LITTLE envelope, you choose your best card and send it back to me. :D

4. If you receive a LOT envelope, you choose your best THREE cards and send back to me.

5. You keep everything else, use it in whatever projects you want, or pass it on to someone else.

Does that help???? I've gotten a few responses already, so I'm looking forward to getting some envelopes out by the middle of next week. I want to wait a bit, so I can know how many envelopes the stuff needs to be split into! :) And even LITTLE envelopes will have lots of stuff for you to use, I promise!

Are YOU up for a challenge???

OK, everyone! I've been wanting to do this for a while, so here goes. :D
If YOU are up for a challenge, have I got one for you!! :) I've got TONS of backgrounds, retired images, paper scraps, etc., that I'd LOVE to have someone else decide what the'd like to do with. My stampin' samples have been decimated, too, and so ANYTHING with a non-retired Stampin' Up!® image would get double points. :) ANYWAY.
IF YOU ARE UP FOR A CHALLENGE: email me at poohisstampin@aol.com, and let me know. I'll send you an envelope with some things in it - you won't know WHAT will be in there! - and you make as many cards as you want, but if you choose a LITTLE envelope, you send me ONE back. If you choose a LOT envelope, you send me THREE back. :) You keep whatever else you've done - or share with someone else.
I hope to hear from several of you. :) This could be a LOT of fun for you - and as they come in, I'll post them here on the blog for everyone to OOH and AAH over!!!
C'mon. You KNOW you want to take time to STAMP!!!

I LOVE the new Pretties Kit!!!!!!!!

Can I just say, I LOVE this new Pretties Kit from Stampin' Up!®?!?!? It ROCKS. So, here are directions for this! :)
I found the letter at a craft store, and paid for it. :D When I brought it home, I tinted some Lumiere paint with Pink Passion reinker, until it was the color pink I wanted it to be. (Sorry the photo's a little dark - that's the nature of this room!!!) I painted the letter, and left it alone while I waited for my Pretties Kit to arrive.
Yesterday, it CAME! And I had SUCH fun deciding what to do. I used the Pink Passion Stampin' Write marker on the small, darker flowers on the BACK. Used the Pretty In Pink Stampin' Write marker on the dogwood-type flower, and sponged on Pretty In Pink on the backs of the other two small flowers. I sponged directly on the front center of the daisy. LOVE how easily they all took color!!!!!!!
Next, I took some of the new rhinestone brads - including the clear ones that come in the Pretties Kit - and used those for centers on most of the flowers. I stuck a pin through the papier mache first, so the brads would go in. The two small Pretty In Pink flowers have Pretty In Pink brads as their centers. :)
To finish, I took some of the white half-pearls and used Liquid Glue to stick them where I wanted them! I LOVE how cute it looks - and the fact that I can re-do almost the whole thing without damaging any of it rocks; I can pull those brads out! I'm not sure how easily the pearls would come off - but I can definitely repaint! :)
I'd LOVE to know what you think of my project!!!! Any questions about the Pretties Kit are welcome, too - it's such fun to have something so cool to use!

Christmas in July!

Well, ladies, in my very humble opinion it's NEVER too early to start thinking about Christmas. :D This is a card we did at my workshops this weekend; the sets we used were FROSTY and GLAD TIDINGS. Colors of card stock are Purely Pomegranate, Whisper White and Basic Black. Using White Craft Ink, we stamped both the swirls and the snowflakes from FROSTY onto the Purely Pomegranate CS, and set aside to dry. Stamp Frosty himself on the Whisper White with Basic Black Classic Ink; color in with assorted markers. We used Rose Red, Taken With Teal, Only Orange (nose), Basic Black, and Bordering Blue (shadowing). Then, using either the 2-Way Glue Pen or Liquid Glue, dot onto his buttons. Push into microbeads; flick back of card stock to knock off excess. Using the Taken With Teal Stampin' Write Marker, color ONLY one phrase of the "Let it snow" stamp from GLAD TIDINGS. Stamp onto Whisper White; punch out with the smaller oval punch. Punch out a larger oval from Basic Black; mat the WW. Using the liquid glue or 2-way again, add microbeads around the mat. Matt the larger image onto Basic Black; mount both to the front of the card. Using the "Happy Holidays" stamp from FROSTY, stamp inside the card with Basic Black.
Wasn't that easy?!?!? :D I tell you WHAT. This post has taken me HOURS to write; Mom and I are making bread and butter pickles with cucumbers from the garden, and now we're trying a new recipe for zucchini marmalade. I hope it's good! :D It's for Christmas gifts. :D
SO! Take some time to stamp today!!!! Remember, Christmas is only 162 days away!!! :D

Change of pace!

I don't feel like showing anything I'm working on today, so I decided to switch it up a little. :) This dog lives in Newport, Oregon, one of my favorite places on Earth. Oh, if I could snooze in the sun in Newport today!!!! :)
This is one of the photos we used in a devotional a while ago; I just love this dog. :)
Tonight is our church's craft night; I'll be stamping and scrapping and socializing for six hours!!! Gosh, I think I need a nap. :D
Actually, I need to get busy; I'm having a party here tomorrow, and Amy is having a party at her house on Sunday. Got to get this place ready for company to come stamp with me tomorrow!
Until next time, dear friends. Make some time to stamp today! And bless someone with a card you made!

Titles are back! YEA!!! :D

OK, girls, if you're on the Tennessee Stampers list, PLEASE don't say anything for a couple of days about this card! :) This card was made using some handmade background paper; it's for a swap called "Same But Different". Several of us received strips of different yet similar background papers, and we have a partner we send one to, and also one to the swap coordinator. THIS is what I came up with. :)
Using the large tag punch for the petals is really popular now, and when I saw this background paper, I knew I had to try it. :) It was a little difficult to match the colors of the other things I used, but I like the way this turned out. :) Sorry it's a crooked scan again; dimensions and my scanner bed just do NOT cooperate!!!
ANYWAY. The background card stock is the new IN COLOR, Soft Sky. The background stamping and the "happy" are from Polka Dots & Paisley, and are done with Not Quite Navy. The center punched circle is Regal Rose, and the button is So Saffron. I'd love to hear what you think of the card!!!!
We've been having a lot going on around here; my parents have been off on an adventure, and we've had flooding and a bad freezer to deal with. :) I'll be glad when they get home!!!! It's kind of curtailed my ABILITY to be creative for the week; everything's covered in plastic. :D But I'm looking forward to receiving my FIRST new Idea Book & Catalog order on Monday!!!!!! I SO cannot wait to have new toys to play with! That ALSO means that my 10/10/10 classes next week will get to play with some new toys, too. :) Hope you can come!!!!
Have a wonderful day! Take some time to STAMP!!!

Monday, July 9, 2007

OK, how would YOU change it????
Blogger.com still won't let me put a title on posts! But I want your opinion on this card. I wanted to come up with a more masculine design for a birthday card for my next class. I like the color combination, but it's missing something. SO, write me an email at poohisstampin@aol.com or leave me a comment here, and let me know what you think I should change or add. I won't use it for a class now, since the design's out here on the web, but I want to know what you'd do!!!!! :)
I can't wait to hear from you!

Grrrrr. This dumb blogger won't let me put in a TITLE!!!!!
SO. :) This was a card that I was PLANNING to do at at least three workshops this month, but the first one cancelled on me, and my best friend wanted me to use a certain set for one design, and a Christmas card for another - and my third project is one I absolutely adore, so we're gonna do it. :D So I get to share it with you!
The background is from Polka Dots & Paisley, done in VersaMark on Blue Bayou, one of the new IN COLORS. The alpha set is one of my retired ones - Stampin' Up! didn't give us any to preorder. :) The words are from Amazing to Zany, one I earned with my Sell-A-Bration sales this year. It's a 3/4" circle punch for the letters, popped up with Dimensionals. Of course, the words are punched with my wonderful, favorite Word Window Punch. :) I love all the colors that go with this new IN COLOR blue! That's Elegant Eggplant on the F, followed by Sahara Sand for R, Handsome Hunter for I, Summer Sun for E, Ruby Red for N, and Bordering Blue for D. Simple, colorful, and a great card for someone special! :)
Have a wonderful week!!!! Take time to stamp something!

Wow, seems like I can't accomplish everything I want to, and yet I'm busy almost every moment. :) Know how I feel???
I decided to post this card sample today, to show you how versatile this design is. I just used the ticket corner punch on the stamped image, changed the location of the brad placement, and used two of the base cardstock to change the look. Easy!!!!
I need to get busy and design! I have a LOT of classes and workshops coming up, so I want to stay ahead of the curve. It's HOT, though, and I don't move very fast in the heat. :) Maybe I'll take a siesta, then work at night.... :)

Happy Independence Day, America!

I hope your celebration today is safe, fun, and full of yummy treats and happy memories. :)

As promised, here is one of the card samples from my New Idea Book Open House Monday night. The colors are Whisper White, Certainly Celery, and Brilliant Blue; the matted saying is from WORD ON WORD, a new Level 2 hostess set, and the other is from Hugs & Wishes, a new set in this year's IB&C. Don't forget - hostess sets are only good for the six months of the current IB&C now, so book your party to get your choice for FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway. :) See the new rhinestone brad?? They are SO awesome! What a great way to add some bling to your card! This is an ice-colored square brad - but they all look like diamond shapes to me.... :)

Cheryl emailed me; that's HER card that won the Birthday Card Contest!! Congrats, Cheryl! :) I'll have your prize out sometime within the next week! And I'll be announcing yet another contest soon - you have so many ways to get free stuff from me! :D

Have a wonderful day! Do some stampin' - and share your passion with someone else!

Thanks to those of you who did attend, and made it such fun. :) And those of you who still don't have your Idea Book & Catalog, you can go to http://www.poohisstampin.stampinup.net/ and click on the CATALOG button on the left-hand side to browse!
