SUDSOL Challenge Card

Good Monday morning! How was your weekend? I'm on my way to a doctor's appointment; UGH. I hope you enjoy today's post - someone ought to enjoy SOMEthing. :D

The challenge was a layout; the pieces that are curved were, in the sketch, straight rectangles. You know me; I can't make anything without tweaking it a *little* bit. :D

The stamp set is a new one for me, EASY EVENTS. I like this stamp, and it wasn't the original one I was going to use, but when I got out my DSP, it just had to be the Christmas card. :D

So, here we go with the ingredients! :)

Card stock: Very Vanilla, Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler

Ink: Early Espresso

Stamp sets: Easy Events, Sounding Joy (retired)

Accessories: Gumball Green Stampin' Write Marker, White Gel Pen, Labels Collection Framelits, Be of Good Cheer DSP, Big Shot, Dimensionals, Snail

Isn't it simple and pretty? When I get the More Merry Messages set, I can use one of those inside. I'm afraid the retirement of last year's sets wiped me out! :D

OK, I'm outta here! Have a WONDERFUL day, let me know what you think - and Mary, THANK YOU for being SO encouraging! It's so nice to know you're out there! :) Be sure and make the time to STAMP something!!!

Thankful Friday! :D

Good afternoon! You made it to Friday! So did I! :D I'm grateful for that, but also that I am done with all my thank-you cards. :D Today, I want to show you the special one I did for Kathy - since she picked it up yesterday, and since I showed you her gift set Wednesday, it seems only fitting to wrap it all up. :D

Kathy LOVES Melon Mambo. So do I! It's such a great color pink! So, I made a monochromatic card - except for the cherry on top of the cupcake, which is red glitter paper. :D

I used the cupcake punch and Whisper White for the cupcake, and ran the frosting piece through the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder; ran the bottom piece and the Melon Mambo card front through the Stripes embossing folder. (I♥MyBigShot - I SOOOOOOOOOOO need a bumper sticker!!!!) :D

The saying on the front and the top one inside are from BLESSINGS FROM HEAVEN; the other is from TRUST GOD. They're all embossed with Whisper White craft ink and white embossing powder. The front are on two of the labels collection framelits. It's a simple card, but I think it's quite elegant. :)

Tell me what you think of it! (I didn't write in it, either, just put a piece of paper inside so I could let her use it if she wishes. She could also cut the front and back apart, and use them both for card fronts. I would, of course, doll up the inside a bit if it was going to be a front! :D )

OK, I'm outta here. Have a WONDERFUL weekend, and be SURE to take the time to STAMP something!

Happy Birthday, Kathy!

I am privileged to share a birthday with a dear stamping friend, Kathy. We met together last week to celebrate - and had lunch and wonderful conversation. Kathy is one of the best laughers I know, and she has a beautiful heart. :)

ANYWAY. She isn't so much intrigued by cards, but by 3D projects. So this is a cupcake box (the cupcake I purchased was too big to fit in it!!!). The card is made to match it! Colors are Whisper White, Pool Party, and Island Indigo. Aren't they lovely? :D

OK,, I'm off again! :) Have a WONDERFUL day, and be SURE to take the time to STAMP something!

My Father's Day Card for Dad

Good afternoon! Did you have a good weekend? I'm SO tired - I'm working on the phones for an internet company (which I only do on a relief basis, and the assistant is on vacation this week :D), or I'd be going to take a nap. Celebrating for a week takes its toll! LOL!!!

ANYWAY. I wanted to show you a card I made for a sketch challenge that ended up being my Father's Day card!

Isn't it pretty? :D And so simple! That stamp is from a new set I got for FREE with hostess benefits from the New IB&C Open House, called TRUST GOD. The colors are Whisper White, Early Espresso, and Daffodil Delight. The Early Espresso is embossed with the Simply Polka Dots embossing folder.

Any questions? Comments? Let me know!! :D Talk to me!

Have a wonderful day! Be sure and take the time to STAMP something!

Thought I'd already shared this!

Seriously. I would have SWORN I'd already shown this to you!

It's a super-simple card, which I made as a wedding or anniversary (25th!) card. It uses MAKE A CAKE and ITTY BITTY BANNERS; colors are Shimmery White and Brushed Silver. :) I had a good time with this one - I love monochromatic cards!

Don't forget you can click on the photo to see it in the original size I uploaded it. :)

OK, I'm outta here! If plans hold, today I'm taking care of getting a haircut and other odds and ends. :D Miles to go! Have a WONDERFUL day, and be sure to take the time to stamp something! Enjoy your weekend!

Party Favors Class - share 1

If you didn't make it to stamp with us last Thursday evening, you really missed a fun time. This is one of the four projects we did; it's really a cute little container!I got the idea from this blog; hers is much more colorful, but I didn't have everything to directly copy hers! :D

That's Certainly Celery you see, with Daffodil Delight seam binding ribbon - I really like the pop of color it adds here! The designer series paper is from Summer Smooches again; I think this is really cute. You could put lots of things inside of it, too!

OK, I'm outta here. Still celebrating my birthday. :D

Have a wonderful day! Be sure to take the time to stamp something!

Monday, June 11, 2012

Hi! Welcome to another Monday! :D I hope you had a great weekend, and got to spend a little time with your new Idea Book. :D It's the Monday before my birthday, so I'm scheming and planning on what I want to get.... :D

Today's card is a quick thank-you card I put together, but I really like it! That chevron pattern on the DSP (from SUMMER SMOOCHES) is big this year; there's also an embossing folder!

Each year, I continue to be amazed that LOVELY AS A TREE makes it another year. It's a completely classic set, and I can't imagine what could take its place. I guess SU! can't, either! :D The colors are Very Vanilla, Gumball Green, and Early Espresso. The other stamp set is Itty Bitty Banners, cut out with the framelit that matches. Easy! :)

Have a WONDERFUL week!!! Be sure and take the time to STAMP something!!!!

Card Cupids

Good morning! It's FRIDAY! Aren't you GLAD?! :D (Actually, my weekends fly by! So busy! :D)

Today, I would like to tell you about an organization named CARD CUPIDS. (Click on their name to get to their main website.) It's a wonderful organization that provides "happy mail" to kids who really, really need it. (Go ahead. Go read about it. I'll be here....)

Karen Siefert is a local Close to My Heart representative, and a dear friend of mine. She has asked me to guest design this month for her; I needed to do two projects, and will be sending them on to Card Cupids.

Here's what Karen sent me when she asked me to help out this month:

We have adopted a homeless shelter in Virginia that is housing several families, including 39 children. (Ages 1-18)
We were able to give them a great Christmas, Valentines, and now we are working on Birthdays. The shelter says they really enjoy receiving cards from all over the US and Internationally.
We also receive requests for Happy mail for children going thru a medical crisis....

Now, how can you say NO to that???

So, today, I am honored to show you the two cards I've designed for the Card Cupids. I'm hoping that you'll feel that they're pretty gender-neutral, like I do. And they're punch art, which I think always makes something fun!  (And if you're visiting from CARD CUPIDS, thank you for *all* the incredible work you do to bless others!)

Here we go!

This is the first one; it features three of the new IN COLORS - from left to right on the candles, it's SUMMER STARFRUIT, RASPBERRY RIPPLE, and MIDNIGHT MUSE. The two "leaning" candles are simply card stock strips, cut 1"x3"; the Raspberry Ripple had to be a bit smaller to fit on the card, so I think it's 1"x2.5". :D

The designer series paper is called PATIO PARTY; the main body of this card is Midnight Muse, but it kind of blends right in with my Basic Black background. :D
The stamp on the front is from WORD PLAY; the flames on the candles are the ornament punch! :D The saying and the mat it's on, as well as the pieces of card stock on the next card, are all cut using my Big Shot (OK, I haven't said it in a LONG time: I LOVE MY BIG SHOT!!! :D ) and the Labels Collection Framelits. They're so cool! :D

The inside stamps are all from different stamp sets: Got Treats?, Teeny Tiny Wishes, and Blessings from Heaven.

Now, then. :D On to the clear card!

I just think clear cards are COOL, and I forget about them too easily. (Maybe it's out of sight, out of mind! :D Get it? They're CLEAR... [Oooooh, I crack me UP!])

Anyway. :D The colors on this one are Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, and Tangerine Tango. That's the cupcake punch on the front, there; I love that it has a candle and flame, as well as a cherry and sprinkles, right in the punch! :D That's the new Daffodil Delight seam binding ribbon. It's light, "soft" as one of my stampers said last night :D, and really easy to work with.

YES, Stampin' Up! does sell transparency! It comes in 12x12 sheets! :)

Oh, yeah. there is "happy birthday" (same stamp as on the inside of the first card!) from TEENY TINY WISHES stamped on the transparency with White Stazon. I couldn't get the card to stand OPEN, to take a photo of the inside. I'm sorry. It's got the Whisper White and Tempting Turquoise label framelit cuts, too, and I used the "wish BIG" stamp from WORD PLAY again - it's the one on the front of the first card. I used our Stampin' Write markers to color it, though; the star above the "wish" is Daffodil Delight; the "wish" is in Tempting Turquoise, and the BIG is in Tangerine Tango. :)

So, do you think it qualifies as "happy mail"? :) I really hope so; I love the color combos, and I think they're just happy cards!

I really hope you'll consider helping CARD CUPIDS out! Thank you, Karen, for the opportunity! Now, y'all, go make the time to STAMP something! Have a great weekend! :)

New products!

Good morning! I hope you've had a chance to look through your new Idea Book & Catalog! There are some really fun new sets, and a whole lot of great new accessories.

The card on the left is one of the two projects we did at the Open House last Friday; the colors are two of the new IN COLORs, Summer Starfruit (the greenish-yellow) and Midnight Muse (the dark blue). I have to say, I really do like this color combination; it seems to me to be an outstanding combination for male cards!

The cake is from MAKE A CAKE; the banner stamp is from ITTY BITTY BANNERS - which coordinates with the new Big Shot BITTY BANNERS FRAMELITS. The designer series paper is called PATIO PARTY; the card on the right is what I got when I reversed the DSP. I obviously had to make it a landscape-oriented card, because of the print, but I think it really works that way, too. I'd probably use it for younger guys, like perhaps a teenager, but it's still got a more masculine feel to it, I think.

Have you tried anything yet? Have you placed your order yet? :) If I can help in any way, please let me know. :) Have a WONDERFUL day, and please be sure to take the time to STAMP something!

Not too exciting....

but it's still a share! :D

I had these watermelon slices done up before I decided what to do with them. They're remakes, so they actually use current colors. :) This is Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green; this time, though, I also did *just* the Cherry Cobbler with the Melon Embossing Powder, so it's a scratch-n-sniff! It's pretty and glossy, too, and I wanted to make it a star.

The next time, I'll do a little more with the background, but this is a FAST card. I did the lettering with MY DIGITAL STUDIO. And that was IT. Super simple!

I'm still recovering from getting ready for the Open House Friday. :) Wednesday, I'll post the card we made as a sample, done twice - you'll see what I mean. :D

Have a WONDERFUL day! And be SURE to take the time to STAMP something!

If you missed our Let's Get Punch class last week, you missed a really fun one. What do you think of my plate? :D Yes, that's a cheeseburger, fries, and pickle. :D We did it ALL with punches and ink! My next favorite card....

Good Tuesday Morning! I hope you're having a great week! :) Lines, costumes, and lines are on MY mind this week. Phew. :D I can't wait to do the show, tho - it's VERY demanding physically, and I've got a pretty big part. Come see me as the evil stepmother! :D I perform this weekend; next weekend, the part will be done by the incredible Paula Fox. Tickets are available - you can call the church at 615.444.0776 for information - for Thursdays ($9, show only), Fridays ($20, dinner and show), Saturdays and Sundays ($12, dessert and show). Happy Monday - I hope! :D

Wow, what a weekend! We had a successful garage sale on Friday and Saturday, and since I was keeping the money, I worked it. And HOW! :D It was beautiful weather here in Middle Tennessee; I hope and pray all my friends and family - and yours, as well - in the path of this weekend's storms are safe and sound.

This week, every day will feature a card from last week's Quick Card Class. I'm going to do them in order of my faves - so the first one is my LEAST favorite. :D You'll have to wait until Friday to see my fave!!! And each post will be kind of short; my show opens on Thursday, so it's a BUSY week!!! :)

Without further adieu, here is today's!

Card stock: Basic Black, Whisper White

Inks: Basic Black, Basic Gray

Stamp sets: Sincere Salutations, A Note of Thanks (inside)

Accessories: Big Shot, Stripes embossing folder, Designer Frames embossing folder, corner rounder, dimensionals, sponge dauber

So, there ya go. :D Have a WONDERFUL day - and be SURE to take the time to STAMP something!!!!

Friday, April 13, 2012

Good FRIDAY morning! Aren't you glad it's FRIDAY!?!? :D

Today's card is another we did for my party in March. I really, really love this one - and I think, for some reason, browns make great colors for sympathy cards.

Card stock: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White

Ink: Chocolate Chip

Stamp sets: Fabulous Florets, Word Play, Teeny Tiny Wishes (inside)

Accessories: Big Shot, Chocolate Chip 1/2" Scallop Dot Ribbon (LOVE this stuff!), Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder, clear embossing powder, heat tool, sponge dauber, dimensionals, Labels Collection Framelits Dies, sponge

And here's the inside:

I really, really like this card! I hope you do, too!

OH! We're having a garage sale today and tomorrow, LOADS of stuff. If you can come by between 8 and 2, please come see me! :D

Have a WONDERFUL weekend! Be SURE to take the time to STAMP something!

Thursday, April 12, 2012

Good morning! Hope you're enjoying this week's posts so far! :)

Today's card is one I whipped up rather quickly - because I already had the card stock cut! (Remember the "He is Risen" card from last Friday?)
I got the Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folders Set during Sale-a-bration, when I could get them for FREE with a $50 order! Yes, they had regular IB&C merchandise again this year - and you can bet your buttons I took advantage. :D This was the card I threw together within two minutes of pulling the frames out of the box! :D SO simple to make an elegant card with!!

OK, I'm outta here!! Have a WONDERFUL day, and be SURE to take the time to STAMP something!

Wednesday, April 11, 2012

OK, who doesn't love Cookie Monster?? :D I found one like this on Pinterest - how much fun is that site?!?! :D - and knew we had to do this, too. Our hostess club did this one! :) I did add the inking to the edges of the cookie, so I DID make it my own. :D

We used Pacific Point for Cookie, then obviously Whisper White and Basic Black for eyes and mouth. The cookie is Crumb Cake, sponged with the same ink, and speckled with - what else?!?!? Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker! :D

Have a WONDERFUL day! Be sure and MAKE the time to STAMP something!

Did someone say S'MORE?

Good morning! I hope you're having a fantastic week so far! :)

I know today's SEEMS to be an Easter project, but it doesn't HAVE to be. :D They make PEEPS for every holiday now, I think! LOL!We had a great time making these at my party two weeks ago, and I think they make adorable gifts!

SO. Products are pretty simple; Pretty in Pink card stock, ink, and 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. 2'3/8" scallop circle punch and 1-3/4" circle punch. Chocolate Chip card stock and ink, Very Vanilla card stock, and MY DIGITAL STUDIO to do the directions. We also used the Very Vintage jumbo wheel to decorate, dimensionals to pop the medallion up and to hold the contents in, and the 3"x5" cello bags were what we put the goodies in, of course. :)

Here's what it looks like when you open it up:

They're really just too cute for words. They'd make a fantastic birthday treat for a kids' classroom, or Sunday school treats, or or or! :D

OK, I'm outta here. Go STAMP something, will ya?!? :D

Monday, April 9, 2012

Look! TWO Mondays in a row! :D

I'm back! Did you have a wonderful Easter? I really hope so. I hope you got a chance to rest and relax with loved ones. I know we had the chance to take photos of families who were able to get together. So wonderful to see! :)

ANYWAY. I know it's past Easter, but I wanted to show this card off. :) It was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest; we did it at our hostess club, because I wanted to spend some extra time with the girls. :D

Card stock: Concord Crush, Whisper White, So Saffron, Wisteria Wonder, Pretty in Pink, Wild Wasabi

Ink: Pretty in Pink, Wild Wasabi, Wisteria Wonder, So Saffron

Stamps: Four Frames, Teeny Tiny Wishes, The Sounding Joy(see below; Stampin' Up! considers stamp sets from minis to be potentially in the new IB&C for a year after they're first released, so it's *technically* still there!)

Accessories: Big Shot, Scallop Square die, Sweetest Stems Embosslit, bird punch, decorative label punch, eyelet border punch, dimensionals, 1/4" Pretty in Pink grosgrain ribbon, Just Add Cake DSP

Here's a shot of the inside! It's just a fun card. :)

OK, I'm outta here. Since I'm setting these up in advance - so I actually DO it! - there's a possibility I might have a new computer by now. If not, HOPEFULLY soon! )

Have a wonderful day! Be SURE and take the time to stamp something!

HE IS RISEN!

"He is risen, indeed!" is the response the early believers would give one another, to identify themselves. Today is Good Friday; remembering that He died for each and every person, each and every sin, in one of the cruelest and more horrible ways imaginable. Sunday, we get to celebrate His resurrection! Want more? ASK ME! :)

So, today you're getting the Easter card we did at a new group party last Saturday, and at my party last week! I really love it - and I think everyone else did, too. ) I did it in other colors below; I like the original best, but the other's pretty, too! :)

Card stock: Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder

Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder

Stamps: HE IS RISEN (Occasions Mini); inside uses FOUR FRAMES and TEENY TINY WISHES

Accessories: Flower Garden Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Labels Collection Framelits Dies, Big Shot, sponge dauber, dimensionals

This was a HUGE hit. :) And of course, we used the Big Shot. :D You've missed me, haven't you? Then say it all together: I LOVE MY BIG SHOT! :D

Here's the second card I did; it uses Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi, and Whisper White, and instead of just using Classic Ink on the medallion, I used VersaMark and Wild Wasabi Embossing Powder. :)

OK, I'm outta here! HAPPY EASTER!! (Oh, and please forgive any major typos; my laptop has now gotten a virus, and so I'm trying to keep blogging on my little netbook. I'm doing the photos on Kenn's computer, so it's all about availability! :D)

Make the time to STAMP something! :)

One More Thank-You!

I so love my Big Shot! :D

This is the last one you'll see from the thank-you Quick Card Class; I really love the colors, and the simplicity! :)

The Top Note die is so very versatile!

Below is the inside! :)

I'd love to hear what you think! :) Now, make sure you take or MAKE the time to stamp something! :)

Love that medallion!

Here's another card from our thank-you Quick Card Class! I never tire of the medallion stamp; and I love Pacific Point and Whisper White. Such a clean, crisp combination!

As you can see, we used the scallop trim punch on the inside piece. It's the little touches that made an easy card seem a little more grand!

Here's the - and don't forget you can click on the photo to see it larger:

OK, I'm outta here again! :) Hope you're enjoying my being back! :D Have a WONDERFUL day, and be SURE to take the time to STAMP something!

You are SOOOOOOOOO gonna want to check this out!

It's a SNEAK PEEK into the new Idea Book & Catalog! Lots of changes coming, so be on the lookout! THESE PRODUCTS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE DURING THE MONTH OF APRIL, until the new IB&C is released in June! Go to my business site to order, 24/7! Just click the SHOP NOW button!

Isn't this fun?

This was one of the first things I ordered from the Occasions Mini - the doily Sizzlit for the Big Shot. Yes, it's an intricate cut, so it takes a little TLC after it gets run through, but I think it's worth it!

Don't ask me how I came up with this outrageous idea - I don't remember. LOL! We did it for our hostess club in January. The stamp image inside is from Greeting Card Kids.

HAPPY APRIL!

Hi, y'all! Yes, it's been a LONG time - but I'm trying. :) Life is BUSY, BUSY. Stampin' Up! continues to bring out great stuff - and I'm having a great time showing people how great it is. :) Gotta tell you, the Big Shot is a HUGE attraction to people who haven't stamped before. And what do I always tell you? I LOVE MY BIG SHOT! :D

Anyway. Here's today's share!

Card stock: Very Vanilla, Wild Wasabi

Ink: Early Espresso

Stamp set: Many Thanks

Accessories: DSP from the Winter Mini (sorry, but anything that coordinated would work!), Labels Framelits Dies, Big Shot

We did this for a thank-you Quick Card Class last year. :) It was a lot of fun! I LOVE the Framelits; they're awesome!

OK, I'm off. :) Have a wonderful day - and be SURE to take the time to STAMP something!

You've gotta see this!

Wow, Lynn Pratt does it again! Aren't these Tasteful Trim die roses beautiful?!?! She's giving you a tutorial for FREE, too - but I'll probably also do this in a stamp camp or class in the near future. I LOVE them!

SALE-A-BRATION IS HERE!!!

Hey, y'all!!!! If you aren't my friend on Facebook or near me in real life, you might not know that I'm in OREGON! :D Yes, that's right! I'm in the beautiful, SOGGY, Pacific Northwest! It's good to be back. We're with friends for the rest of this month, then we'll be on the beach for the month of February - and fly home on March 4.

Now, just because I'm gone doesn't mean we're not going to enjoy Sale-a-Bration this year! As a matter of fact, one group has already had their party - and let me tell you, you WANT to have a $400 party! For just having a party (which qualifies at $15o in sales), you earn a shopping tote that's exclusive to SAB hostesses. At $400, you get everything on pages 6-7 of the SAB mini!!!! (There's a link on the right-hand side to see it, AND the Occasions Mini!!)

Now, then. Here is a sample from the Thank You Quick Card Class; the brads are part of the brad and ribbon Sale-a-Bration pack. I really love them!

Check out both minis, if you haven't gotten them in the mail. Email me or call me if you have any questions! You can place an order online through my business site at any time; if you want to have a party, let me know! I already have two parties scheduled for March! It's a GREAT time to party, and a GREAT time to join up! The kit is on sale for $125, and you can choose either a new DSP package for each month for the rest of the year OR MDS downloads each month!

Have a WONDERFUL day! I'll be posting intermittently, since I don't have any stuff to stamp with! :D I do have a few photos to share, and I'll share some of my favorite demonstrators' websites. Be BLESSED, and be SURE to take the time to STAMP something!
